I hope you realize the "criticism" he gets appears to be 3 year olds who stole their mom's phone, and don't think that a grown ass man can figure out whether he's standing next to a real person or a wax statue. If it was valid criticism about something wrong he did, sure he should definitely take it seriously, but this is all just a bunch of dumb idiots who feel the need to say something mean but don't have enough brain cells to be smart about it.
Most criticism from the internet is useless hate… so it’s about being able to receive and assess the value of a person’s criticism. “That’s not really vin idiot” is not useful, so ignoring it actually is good, and was only a small part of what the video was.

Some people just want to get mad to be distracted or they feel like they gaine power by being mean to a creator who expresses his opinion, just because he doesn't have the same opinion. A lot of people tend to forget that others have the right to have their own opinion so they think they have the right to insult the person with the "incorrect" opinion.

I don't get the whole "If u can't do better, u can't critique someone >:(" thing. It's like, the whole point of being a critic is to either give the perspective of a consumer to someone who's providing a product or give the perspective of someone in the industry to someone who's providing a product. A prerequisite doesn't have to be "you can do better" to be a critic you just need that to be a critic who's gonna give insight from the industry rather than from the consumer; both of those being important to people who produce products.

Everyone is dying to bring drama into anything and I'm sick of it. Drama is ruining the whole entire world and we just add more to it. We need to just walk away from it until it dies off.
Life is a play, the world's a stage. Life is all about telling stories, and drama makes them exciting. Personally, I prefer a comedy but if you don't take some things seriously then what's the point?
A lot of drama in our lives is there because we want it to be, but that makes it all the more important to recognise when its not worth it.
I don't think anybody really gets to be important, but we do get to decide whats important to us and that kind of makes us who we are.
You have to pick your battles, but its not always a bad thing to get invested in other people's problems. In hindsight a lot of the time things don't work out how you think they will, but if you have good intentions and act thoughtfully towards other people things tend to work out for the better more often than not.

Like, I remember when I was still in the single digits and UA-cam was barely in its infancy, so all I really had was cable, and...I genuinely feel like the people who complain about stuff like this wouldn't last a week with that
It's often more expensive than YT Premium an a few other streaming services combined, it has a bunch of mandatory unskipable ads that can't be specified to what you like because that's an internet specific thing, the ads are significantly *longer* and more frequent with what I found to be basically a 1:1 between time spent watching whatever you're trying to watch and time spent just watching the ads between scenes, and you can't skip around unless you started recording the thing you're watching ahead of time to play back later
I'd hate to do a "berck in merrhhh day!" thing here, not only because it's generally annoying but also because I'm not even that old, I just feel like it's worth noting that especially now, it feels like absolute convenience is probably gonna be the death of us just because we're all going to forget what it's like to be patient

I always make the mistake of looking at comments for some semblance of hope. I am always let down even more
i deleted facebook, instagram, twitter, and snapchat a couple months ago, and i only check tik tok maybe once a month to see what my friends have sent me. and you wanna know the most interesting part? i don’t miss it… at all. if i really want to be informed about recent events (or even historical things) i just watch youtube or read articles. and it’s wild when you realize how much time you spend, endlessly scrolling, laying in bed, doing nothing, because now all that time is free for you to do fun stuff! read books, watch movies, write, make art, etc.!! some people definitely aren’t in the headspace yet to delete social media but imo that’s the best time to just hit delete. not for everyone, but i definitely feel so much better mentally and physically

I'm glad that you, as a creator on social media, watched by a lot of young people, pointed out how cringy and disrespectful was Vin Diesel towards Carol.
I have ASPD (what psychopathy/sociopathy really is outside of a stigmatized view since theyre not even diagnoses and havent been for a while) and yeah, the way Shane Dawson portrays the "sociopath" stuff is disgusting. It's a disorder caused by childhood trauma. Also the therapist, Kati Morton, that does the diagnosing is actually the worst. Doesnt take criticism well and loves to push the "scary narcissist" and "narcissistic abuse" perspective. I also have NPD, yeah, it's just hatred of the mentally ill. Mental illness and personality disorders have no correlation to being abusive or criminals. The worst thing with these is the struggles with relationships since we develop these from traumatic childhoods. I've been lumped in with sexual offenders/child sex offenders, abusers, and murderers for having disorders that I got from being abused, including sexually abused, as a child.
Basically yeah, more valid to be upset about the demonizing mental illness especially when people are so misinformed about psychopathy/sociopathy and it's still prevalent even now in 2024 how people demonize us. So demonized that many professionals don't even want to deal with us and finding accurate information especially for narcissists is difficult. Basically preventing us, traumatized and disordered people, from getting help in the first place. So yeah. The "too lont" complaint pales in comparison to the real problem with Shane's series.
Could Jake Paul have ASPD? No fucking clue. Sure, they align with traits of it, but we have no idea aside from that. Not every bad person has a disorder. It doesn't matter to diagnose someone like him anyway since diagnoses are for the individual to get help. Diagnosing someone who is controversial or bad just provides a terrible way to try to understand their logic when it's entirely unnecessary and often paints them as a figurehead for such disorders. It doesn't matter if he has ASPD or "is a sociopath" or not because he's not going to be getting any help from that. It's not like being callrd a sociopath is gonna make him go to therapy. Especially when a lot of stuff is played up simply for the camera or views, we can't know for sure what he's like and/or has been through to make a diagnosis. All it does is paint an already stigmatized disorder alongside the face of someone largely hated that is a terrible person. And you dont need a disorder to be a crappy person. Plenty of completely neurotypical people are terrible to neurodivergent/mentally ill people all the damn time and they don't have a disorder.
That's just my rant after rewatching this a few times and wanting to get the thoughts out of my head.

The way he worded it was so perfect! “People are so entitled to their free content.” People complain so bad just about watching 5-30 second ads on someone’s video even though the video is literally free! They even go as far as telling others to not buy specifically from affiliate links that belong to the creator because they don’t want them to get paid. I watched a video that had ads and this person was complaining and someone else told them to use an ad blocker. I had to explain to them that that is why most people have sponsorships, ads in the video, because they aren't getting paid from you blocking their ads. I gladly sit and watch a couple of ten second ads, or skip past a minute one. I enjoy the creators and they deserve to be paid for all the hard work they put into it. Except for morgz. You can use an ad blocker for morgz, though I don't know why you would watch him in the first place.
I was watching this during the middle of the night and when I heard that knock at the beginning, my heart SANK.
