Love the Bora! I have a 72. What ever happened to the intermitent fuel starvation issue? What did you do to solve it? I am having the same issue with mine! THANKS!
Hey Ed, fuel starvation was solved with a Holley fuel pump. I forget what GPM capacity it has, but I installed a fuel pressure gauge in the engine bay, visible from the cockpit, after the fuel filter/regulator. This allowed me to verify the fuel starvation issue (pressure dropped to zero). I left the gauge in place to provide that extra peace of mind when I see 2.5psi on the gauge before I start up. Coincidentally, I’m at Newark Airport on my way to Oslo. We had our Bora shipped there in advance. Upon arrival in Norway, I’ll pick it up and it drive to the Maserati International Rally in Sweden at the end of the month. Cheers!
My dad had one. Restored it by hand, just like that e-type he did. I was in awe getting driven around in those cars. Remember getting pulled over by the cops as soon as we hit the highway... Cops just wanted to look at that car and the inside. Half Maserati half Citroen. Very rare.
Lagerwal Thanks, what an interesting dad you have. The Jaguar E-Type was next on my list, but in late 2015 when I was ready to buy, the values shot up beyond my budget. So I bought a DB9 instead. No regrets. And the DB9 makes me appreciate the Bora’s qualities even more. It is nearly as good as the DB9, yet it is 30 years older... that says a lot about Alfieri’s engineering talent! Simply amazing how competent and well-sorted the Bora design is. If you come to visit upstate New York I offer you a ride.. Cheers!
Arthur Harvey He also had the guilietta spider and a lot more classics. A true petrolhead. MG A, MG B... Proper racing head. Austin Healy... It's a shame he died early. Last thing he bought was a Acura NSX with just 5 miles on it. I don't think I have to explain how much joy that delivered :-)
Lagerwal I’m sorry your dad is gone. Sounds like he gave you wonderful experiences and interest. I too had the police stop me - twice now - just to look at the Bora. Lol. Cheers!
Like your videos👍🏼
Thank you, I'm trying really hard to find the time and opportunity to make more... It's been way too long.
