The Police were at their touring peak during the 1980 Zenyatta Tour. Sting was still hungry and not completely egotistical. I saw them in 1980 at the Masonic Temple in Detroit. It was the best live show I've ever seen.

@@mauricedorreboom5388for real right? Prob best tour cause it was right in the middle of their evolution. Not far removed from their first album style but not quite totally stings band like the last album
My first rock concert was The Police during this tour, mid-December 1980 in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Zenyatta was nº 1 USA at the time. Our local theater was only half full, however; they weren't as big here yet (I heard later that they were pissed off by this). I was fifteen. This was their best moment for sure. Only 3 people making all that music by themselves, no background singers/keyboardists. Killer show
I lived on this concert recording for ages. Peak Police. The audio accompanied me on my trip to Europe at 19. Special memories. Also, is that Trudie Styler backstage at 1:03:00?
Jaysus! Some of those background vocals during their live shows were driving me up the wall even back then. You'd think they were completely tone-deaf. Thankfully Andy and Stewart were mostly focused on their respective instruments. ;O)
@renderizer01 - This was my very first Police live experience, and I was sooo shocked and also disappointed when watching/hearing this back then on TV because the backing vocals didn't sound anything like they had on their records! It was only then that I realised that it was actually Sting who'd also sung those! But I was eventually able to let that one pass, and it's a great show overall :-)
You know the part of every show where the band members look at each other and smile and acknowledge that they like being in a band together? Yeah, The Police never really did that.
Really?? Look and listen to Can’t stand losing you, again, especally the musical bridge aka regatta de blanc. They are on fire there and high on each other’s playing!!
I just love this period of The Police. Pure Brilliance! 😊

9:30 „Deathwish“ is simply unbelievable, Stewart drumming his ass off. And Andy‘s riffs are gorgeous.
Always love to hear and see Andy playing...
I saw them on this tour with XTC opening. It was fantastic.
@Michael Chriss - Ooh, lucky you! I've become an XTC fan only very recently, after having been into The Police for over 40 years! :-)
Yeah, me too, in Austin. We got to see XTC right before Andy Partridge got terminal stage fright for Black Sea at that!

I was lucky to see them on this tour (United States). Best $7.50 I ever spent. Back when pop music had nuts.
The magnificent THREE.
Best live of the police 🎉
i’d do anything to go back in time to see them during the zenyatta era man
very good concert; they were still playing "fall out" in 1980 !!
Energy they created as a trio was amazing
One of the best shows, in the historie of rock...
Saw them in84 memphis tn.
ROckpalast Germany....👍
The Police The Best

¡¡ Genios!! ¡Gracias por subir esta reliquia!
Stewart's octobans and 8 inch splash cymbals are getting a full workout.
Jim Williams I agree!! Isn't Stew a monster here? I have seen him twice, I wouldn't miss Oysterhead if my life depended on it.
Best drummer ik have seen

„When the World is Running Down“ It somehow goes against your expectation when the chorus just repeats the harmonic progression of the verse...
AMAZING!
Isso é the police

I actually preferred it when they got the backing vocalists for the Synchronicity tour.
"Don-stan!"
Uh, well...the greatest instrumentalists in the world had other concerns sometimes.
This band was Firefox.

Fantastic drumming, to a fantastic song.
Give’s me chill’s even after 40+ years and 20+ times watching it.
Those pedals.... 😢
You know the part of every show where the band members look at each other and smile and acknowledge that they like being in a band together? Yeah, The Police never really did that.
They did in the beginning. But every band that gets successful turns into a job for the musicians.
