I provide a cost-benefit analysis on whether it is worth doing an LL.M in today's legal market as an aspiring lawyer (solicitor/barrister).
In this video, I will delve into a cost-benefit analysis, examining factors such as return on investment and its impact on securing pupillage or a training contract.
As someone who recently completed the bar training course, I want to share my insights on this topic. Let's start by considering the additional cost of the LLM. In my opinion, it's a no-brainer to pursue it, as the benefits far outweigh the relatively low price.
One significant advantage of the LLM is its ability to significantly boost your grades. With a take-home piece of coursework worth one-third of the entire course, it can make a real difference, especially if you've had some challenging days during your studies.
While experience holds more weight in today's legal market, an LLM can still be beneficial. It provides you with something unique to discuss in interviews and the opportunity to achieve a first-class degree if you already have a 2:1.
I highly recommend pursuing the LLM. Not only will you walk away with a master's degree, but it will also enhance your interview discussions and elevate your academic achievements. I am already doing btc with llm. Great advice. From my point of view i will just start pupillage after I am done with btc llm.

I’m also thinking if it is worth it to do the LLM as it includes SQE Prep and I can use SFE to pay for my fourth year and just pay for my exams + have Qualfied work experience
