    I was a nanny for a family a couple years ago. We went on a 14 day Scandinavian cruise with Disney. They stayed in a two bedroom suite (I had my own cabin). Their suite cost more than $100,000.

      @RENZO PEREZ For 14 DAYS, a $100,000 2-bedroom suite is a steal considering some 1-bedroom suites will set you back $50,000 - $70,000 for a week-long cruise.

    Love all the suites! You are great at ultra-luxury cruising videos - glad you got to experience the Queen Victoria Grand suite! We splurged on the Walt Disney suite on the Disney Dream a couple years ago - there's a full kitchen with freezer stocked with unlimited drinks and frozen treats of all sorts, and a huge deck with large stainless steel jacuzzi. We spent a LOT of time in the jacuzzi and would have loved more sea days!

    This was a blast. Do more on expedition cruising, please. It's easy to find vids for ships that are drinking, casinos, and tourist trap ports. I'm more curious what else is being offered. Love your vids.💞

      I am def with you, Enjay. I have 2 very different approaches when I cruise, when in the islands, I rarely get off the ship anymore, juts stay back and enjoy the quiet. When I do Europe though I always do it foe the ports and spend time there. Cruising to me is being on the ocean as much as possible, the more sea days the better. Not a show guy on ship, can do those at home. Just how I like to do it, love seeing how other folks have so many varied opinions.

    When a non-cruiser like me thinks of accommodation onboard, the image of those tiny, windowless, inside rooms come to mind. It is awesome to see these large, beautifully appointed suites that would beat any deluxe hotel suite on land. But Gary, are they REALLY worth the high price? I doubt you would get your money's worth, but if you can afford it, great!

    Hi Gary, I do not begrudge people who have the ability to afford those kinds of accommodations. If someone has led a good life, and is used to that, all well and good. Our first cruise was an inside cabin on the Carnival Fantasy (God rest its soul). Last year we enjoyed an Ocean View on Celebrity Summit. In May 2021 a Deluxe verandah on the hump of the Summit (larger verandah). In February 2022 a Sky Suite on Celebrity Millennium. Who knows, if we keep progressing...we'll be broke LOL. Hi from Bob and Jill penniless in Connecticut

      @@tipsfortravellers watched the entire video, amazing. Here is what I did Gary. I was to be on APEX this past May in a sky suite (entry level), when it cancelled I took the cash refund. So then I was looking for my next cruise, decided to wait until 2022. Anyway, I took the cash I got back from APEX and figured I'd combine it with my next cruise and find a really good suite. I think I found it on the Summit, Penthouse suite 6148, the living/dining and seeparate bedroom are 1,400 SF, the wrap around balcony is 1,000 SF and it looks amazing. Check it out on UA-cam, it's pretty incredible. NEVER have I been able to do this before but I figured well I budgeted for cruises that will not happen anyway, so why not treat myself for my 60th bday. • @lw3158
      @lw3158 3 роки тому

      It is not per suite but yes the more in the room the less cost per person. For example Celebrity SUmmit penthouse suite for two in Jan 2021 is TOTAL cost of $18,702, for four it will be $22,615 TOTAL cost, but the cost per person goes down. For a solo cruiser in that suite is is the same cost as if 2 people were in it. Hope this helps.

    For me personally (with no intention to tell anyone with a different view that they are wrong), diminishing returns set in very quickly once I have a balcony in a quiet part of the ship. Even the balcony is mostly for my wife, for that matter.
    If I'm spending time in my cabin or hotel room when I'm on vacation I feel like I'm doing it wrong. If I'm not excited to be seeing the ports and/or experiencing the ship, I'm probably on the wrong cruise. I will spend more to get cabins in Norwegian Haven or MSC Yacht Club, however. The ship experience is just that much better. I'd do an inside cabin Yacht Club cruise over a main ship suite.
    Of course, priorities differ by person. If you derive more pleasure from luxurious living quarters, or just plain have money to burn to the point that both the price and the opportunity cost is irrelevant, then you do you.

    Flying and staying at five star hotels is cheaper - and your hotel doesn't wallow in the sea and you're not scewed for money at every opportunity - and you get to see a whole lot more - why ANYONE cruises these days amazes me ..

    My question where on the ship are this located? I know some you showed were forward and others were aft. But isn’t the that the worst places for people who have motion sickness. And even in general if there are rough seas. Shouldn’t ship builders put some luxury suites in mid ship? 🤢

    • @tipsfortravellers
      @tipsfortravellers  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, suites are not actually in the places with least movement often and placed, as you say, where the views etc are seen to be better. I was at a dinner once with a cruise ship designer who said he was always asked to put suites there but not where hw would put as mid ships and lower down is better....

    I don’t see the point in paying such a high cost for such spacious suites when you could just stay at your home. WhatI’m saying is I thought people go on a cruise ship to enjoy the activities and the open air of the decks. Not to just sit inside a room. I don’t know I’m not a traveller so I don’t get it just seems strange to me. 🤷‍♀️

    No dedicated 'His' and 'Hers' ?
    Is the most expensive suite not that on the Regent Seven Seas Splendor at $11,000 per night?

    I think the most expensive suites here rhyme with Sphinx. Cheap, gaudy, ostentatious extravagance for those on the level of Bernie Madoff when he was alive and swindling those who had to beg him to take their money. Notwithstanding, the QE2 suite looked nice, if over-priced.

    The ultimate family suite makes me glad I di not have a family. It looks like it was designed by a toddler without parents. Wouldn't enjoy this at all. Some of the others though are lovely - though way more than I would ever spend on a cruise

    I have to disagree with this list, if you have 5000+ to spend on cruise, go on something more exclusive and classy/interesting cruises.
    Something like Ponant Le Champlain or any expedition/smaller ship.

    That’s ridiculous! I don’t care how much money I had, I don’t think I could ever spend that kind of money on one week. It feels so wasteful. I’d rather take my whole extended family along on a regular cruise than spend that much on just one cabin!

      I def see your point, but if a special circumstance allows, like COVID cancelling my 2 cruises...I just took the $ I'd of spent anyway and decided to massively treat myself just so I can say I did it
