L'un de mes plus beaux souvenirs du FIFF ! J'ai eu l'honneur et le bonheur d'interpréter Ken Loach vers le français (et les questions qui lui étaient adressées vers l'anglais) et j'aurais pu continuer des heures ! Il fut reçu comme les Beatles par une foule admirative : un très très grand monsieur !
If Ken Loach was a French or Italian rather than English film director, he would be lauded as one of the greats of European cinema; up there with the likes of Federico Fellini, François Truffaut, or Pier Paolo Pasolini but in England during the 1980's - the era of Thatcher - Ken was starved into making adverts for a global food chain (McD!). Even now he is so underrated. His films are too uncomfortable, casting light on the terrible inequality, and injustices in society. Cheers Ken, we salute you (in a comradely way, of course)
