I'll rant a bit and summarize a bit of history with the anime, because I know it is a lot of seasons and not everyone's cup of tea, and it's easy to miss what was going on with the games at the same time. When the anime started it was planned to be a one year, 52 episode contract. About a quarter of the way in, Pokémania exploded, and then the contract went out the window and they reworked it to last as long as they could. If you remember how the anime went, Ash got up to Koga (badge 5) in a flash, and then the second half of the first generation is them get lost walking straight lines. Up until the end of the Johto era (Master Quest season) Pokémon had one main writer that had one vision for it (unfortunately he would die not too long after). The second generation of games, too was made with reworking leftover, cut or reworked designs of things that didn't make it to Red and Green. That's why it feels like more of the same, because it quite literally was them fitting in things they cut off for time. When Generation 3 of Pokémon hit, it really was about doing new things with new designs and the Pokémon design team was pretty pissed at the way they had to design things simple for the anime. It's way a lot of them look weird or complicated. GameFreak was giving a middle finger to dumbing down because of the anime. It's the first left turn we have on the anime too. The new direction is that Ash is more experienced now, and thus he mentors May, the new side character. The show feels the same but it has a lot less content that feels like filler, because when Ash isn't doing his thing, May is. Generation 4 (Diamond and Pearl) as a game was about nothing but polish. The games came up and upscaled and polished everything that came before. The anime follows this exact trend. It's probably the smartest we see Ash be, he has a characteristic training style (He prefers fast Pokémon with one or two moves that combo together. He is still hopeless when it comes to types and secondary effects tho). The battles of this season were pretty peak at the time, and just about every rival character gave him a chance to shine. Generation 5 (Black and White) got done pretty dirty. As a whole, at release, both the anime and the games were supposed to be soft reboots. It didn't work that well. Even though Ash is dumbed down from where he was just a season before, I think his character is the best written in this one. The season had one big plan that fell through because of a massive earthquake that hit Japan in March of that year. Just about every anime that was airing then dropped darker plot elements because they thought it would be too heavy on the kids. Pokémon was literally entering a villain arc. There are two or three episodes of this season that are lost media because of that. They have never aired and likely never will. The american version of the intro is also a "done dirty" version of the original japanese one. While the CG didn't age the best, the whole thing worked with the soft reboot and the theme. The whole world is black, and as each episode passed, the new pokémon introduced would, in the next episode, shine white and gain color. It happened to all of them. Seeing only the final product with them all colored is underwhelming. Gen 6 fixed the mistake of Gen 5 and had Ash at his peak of maturity. For me, Gen 4 diamond and pearl had a very interesting anime, but also had one of the most menacing villains ever. It’s not even team Galactic the main ones it’s the group that’s run by a woman named Hunter J and it has one of the most gruesome you know they’re dead deaths on screen from Pokémon.
They got shorter to make room for ads. Two ads in a 22 minute ep. I dont think they have that problem in japan. Some do have extended movie versions tho
Will you react to the japanese version? If you do, make sure to watch pokemon horizon op 1 and 2 it's the lastest openings and one of the best pokemon opening imo
There is no best or worst song every song has its own unique charm and tries to do its own thing they can coexist not everything needs to be a competition He didn’t get younger the show just got more experimental with its style
Never said the songs needed to compete with each other. I said that they were all good in their own way at the end of the video. I just didn't like how the later 1s were shorter.
So your saying youd rather have a longer intro compared to that extra minute of actual show? Keep in mind each epidsode had the previously on or next time on right? Them making shorter intros is alot better for that 30 min watch period
johto and up were the best, hoenn wa good, sinnoh was either hit or miss but when it the song hit it hit good. but after diamond and pearl they started to get really bad until sun and moon. i never watched most of the japanese openings but the ones for the final arc as so cold. and that's goh, like "pokemon go". he's ash's co star. he's looking for mew. if it wasn't for ash winning the alola league i never would have started watching the show again. i quit around the end of ruby and sapphire, unless it came on tv or something and i just had it on. ash got so much better and started catching really good pokemon.

Hm, quite the Openings, not that bad to be honest,
Have you done the Japanese Openings already? If not, I have a Playlist if you’re interested?
For me, Gen 4 diamond and pearl had a very interesting anime, but also had one of the most menacing villains ever. It’s not even team Galactic the main ones it’s the group that’s run by a woman named Hunter J and it has one of the most gruesome you know they’re dead deaths on screen from Pokémon.
Hm, fair and valid points and opinions, i hope the Japanese Openings will be more up your speed.
Mega Pokemon are based off of Pokemon ancient forms

Did that spider man just blink
They got shorter to make room for ads. Two ads in a 22 minute ep. I dont think they have that problem in japan. Some do have extended movie versions tho
Im more of a Japanese opening person especially after they bitchered the XYZ theme
I'll be reacting to those if this video gets a big enough reception.
Jessie?
I always had a crush on May, the girl who wears red that replaced Misty in the Advanced series
Will you react to the japanese version? If you do, make sure to watch pokemon horizon op 1 and 2 it's the lastest openings and one of the best pokemon opening imo
There is no best or worst song every song has its own unique charm and tries to do its own thing they can coexist not everything needs to be a competition
He didn’t get younger the show just got more experimental with its style
Never said the songs needed to compete with each other. I said that they were all good in their own way at the end of the video. I just didn't like how the later 1s were shorter.
@@WeAINTseenITREACTIONSfair enough I just said that for all the comments that would be like oh this song is the best or this song sucks or whatever
@@madnessarcade7447 It's subjective anyway,so it dosen't really matter is someone thinks like that
So your saying youd rather have a longer intro compared to that extra minute of actual show? Keep in mind each epidsode had the previously on or next time on right? Them making shorter intros is alot better for that 30 min watch period
I don't think 1 minute would hurt the shows runtime. If anything its the broadcasters who hurt the show with their overabundance of ads.
johto and up were the best, hoenn wa good, sinnoh was either hit or miss but when it the song hit it hit good. but after diamond and pearl they started to get really bad until sun and moon.
i never watched most of the japanese openings but the ones for the final arc as so cold.
and that's goh, like "pokemon go". he's ash's co star. he's looking for mew.
if it wasn't for ash winning the alola league i never would have started watching the show again. i quit around the end of ruby and sapphire, unless it came on tv or something and i just had it on. ash got so much better and started catching really good pokemon.
Gen 1 and 2 lack dragon Pokemon i love dragon types
Question do you know a UA-camr named kaggyfilms?
Really does suck that they made them shorter
There are full versions
@@DragonGo-j2lfor most of them not all tho
1025 that the count so far on how many there is. plus digimon and pokemon are two of the top shows that mite have chain the world if one thing did not happen for pokemon. if pokemon did not have that one point that happen in there early year when first starting. right now Digimon will be the one that is going as top show and games, but we are in a pokemon world.
You gotta listen to the Japanese ops
Fr
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Can u react to every mega evolution and rank them out of 10
You should see the videos in the original language, they are better in terms of the animation of the intro
Pls do the Japanese openings
Get back into pokemon
Too much focus on the visuals L
I mean these are animated openings. Fail on your part for being blind.
Jessie always had them curves for sure
