Also the reason y Meowth could speak is more that he fell in love with a female Meowth who only loves humans so Meowth tried speaking and being as close to a human as possible until Meowth’s heart broke when that Meowth got a trainer
@@Sassaparilla yes it did lol. I believe at the time just standing on 2 feet was considered a thing Meowth as a species couldn’t do and with the speaking English it’s like if a human started learning to speak dog and learned to stand walk and run on all fours for a human that only loves dogs
Not entorely accurate but close enough. The female Meowth was owned(trained) by a wealthy woman who pampered her. She rejected Rocket Meowth because he was just a common dirty meowth. HE took it as she prefered humans, so he taught himself to walk and talk like a human, but rather than be impressed, she considered him not only the same common dirty meowth, but a freak of one on top. But karma struck when the wealthy lady abandoned her in the street after she went broke, and Meowsie ended up with the Persian who was Meowth's reason for hating Persians (it actually had nothing to do with Giovanni's)
This takes place during the Orange Islands arc, after the original series but before gen 2/Johto. Notable changes include Snorlax, a Lapras, and Charizard calming down and starting to behave. As for Brock, during the original series run, complaints about Brock's womanizing resulted in them writing him out of the show, by leaving him with the Orange Island's professor Ivy (a woman, and a fairly seductive looking one at that) to help out with upkeep of the research centre. They replaced him with Tracey, a Pokemon "Watcher," throughout the Orange Islands. The move ended up generating far more backlash and they ended up bringing Brock back for Hoenn/Gen 3.

Yes. The answer of how Meowth can speak has been answered in the series an episode called Go west young Meowth or something like that title of the episode.

You gotta understand that the anime is not like the games at all. They work completely differently. Legendaries cannot be captured by pokeballs in the anime. They are litteral gods after all. The only reason you can capture them in the games is for gameplay purpose. Being able to capture a god with a pokeball makes absolutely zero sense. Do you really think a mere human would be able to capture a litteral god ? A god wouldn't let himself be captured like that. Plus, they NEED to remain free, you just saw why in this movie. If a legendary Pokémon is not doing what he is supposed to do, the world loses its balance. That's why you just can't capture any of them. The dude in this movie was actually just like what we actually do in the games : he wants to catch 'em all, without thinking of the consequences of doing so. Also, Lugia doesn't really "talk". He's using telepathy, just like Mewtwo was. If a Pokémon talks without the mouth moving, it's telepathy. Also, the professor asking for completing the pokedex is just a game thing for the player. The professor is the one taking care of the Pokedex thing in the anime. Trainers doesn't care about that at all. And it also doesn't require capturing them. Observing them is enough. That's actually what Tracey is doing. He is observing Pokémon to know more about them, and will later stay in Oak's lab as an assistant. Ash have very few Pokémon but actually met a lot of them and knows a lot. For example, he doesn't have any clefary but he knows a lot about them because he observed some of them. He usually only capture a Pokémon if he need to or if the Pokémon actually wants to join him. He wants to be the very best but he is not an enslaver after all. Also, you have to actually take care of the Pokémon you capture, just like you have to take care of your pet IRL. And Ash doesn't want to capture all of them. He doesn't care about that. He wont evolve his pokémon if they don't want to. He even released some of his Pokémon during his journey (the first one he released was a Butterfree who fell in love with another one, so Ash let him go with her). Ash's goal is to be the very best, yes, but winning a pokémon competition and being the strongest trainer doesn't mean capturing all of them. He want to be the best, but he want to do so while taking into consideration what his pokémon want. Anyway, I'm gonna stop there because I think I'm rambling a bit too much here.
