A long track, violent tornado moved through Carbon, Prescott, and Greenfield Iowa during the afternoon of 5-21-24. The tornado exhibited horizontal vortices prior to striking town, often indicative of a violent tornado. Tremendous impacts were observed throughout the path.

If anyone is traveling past where straight winds or a tornado has been and sees a partial steel piece of a grain building on the road while it is still daylight And you are not in danger, please stop, if possible, and move the object from the road or highway to the side if you can. These pieces of debris will be very difficult to see at night until you’re too close and could cause a potential accident. I’m only suggesting this because I live in the area around Harlan Iowa where the tornado went through the end of April and this type of debris was laying across roads too and we tried to move as many as possible. Obviously you can’t stop if there’s a lot of traffic or another storm is headed towards you. Thank you 😊

@@dianajones8598 We were blessed. Can't believe only one limb down, and that plastic hoop house my hubby has put up twice due to wind knocking down, actually withstood a tornado this time.
