Man this gives me anxiety. seeing you take your car apart I haven’t even touch mine yet I want to do so much ,but I just love to seeing it nice and untouched lol 😂
@@GridZilla I've been talking with Jason on and off about it. Some days I'm ready to buy one and then some days meh. I think the 2 month old killing my sleep schedule is messing with me. Some days I'm so motivated to get back on track and some days I couldn't care less about it.
I took it the left cable out by rotating the clip 90 degree, it just unclipped and became lose but it still attached to the cable, and I can take the cable out of the shifter. However, I had a tremendous hard time to put it back.
Nice looking shifter. Curious to hear your thoughts about how it compares to Acuity after a track day. Did you consider CAE? A guy left the Hybrid shifter open without a shift boot but regretted it the moment he ran off and a bunch of dirt got into the opening. For close up footage, the shallow depth of field and constantly shifting autofocus can be distracting.
Zero issues. I did have a loose bolt situation on my FK8 Acuity shifter but that was 100% me not tightening it before putting the console back in. Once I tightened it correctly never had an issue again.
Do you have opinions on Acuity vs Hybrid Racing? I have an Acuity shift knob and like it, but eventually want to get a short shifter just not sure which brand to go with
Won’t go wrong with either one but for whatever it’s worth the Hybrid shifter upgrade is a complete unit where the Acuity shifter reuses the aluminum bottom portion of the OEM Shifter. That in no way compromises anything. Same result. Different approach
@GridZilla Ahhh, I actually didn't know that. I like the idea of having it as one whole assembly, plus I do really like competition style shifter. It's too bad I bought the titanium shift knob from Acuity so early on when I really like the Hybrid Racing setup you show off and wouldn't use the Acuity knob
@GridZilla It looks awesome, I like the titanium Esco knob that I have but I find it to be slightly too short sometimes. The adjustibilty of the competition rod and it being one solid piece definitely has me leaning towards that setup over the Acuity
@GridZilla Oh yeah, one last question before I end up forgetting. I have seen people install the Acuity shifter cable bushings, and now see Hybrid Racing also makes some. Have you installed either and have any feedback as far if one is better than the other? I'm also assuming it's a well worth mod based off everyones reaction to the difference versus Oem
@@GridZilla Were you able to get a solution? Looking to buy the short shifter like yours, would like to have a tall knob and keeping the shift boot! Thank you!
Can't wait to see the new update bro! Best FL5 content on the Internet!
Appreciate it!
Hybrid Racing killed it with this shifter! Great work from their team.
💯
Excited that mine is on the way with the comp rod to try it out!
Great combo!
Love your content! I love how nonchalant you are when taking things apart, I treat my fl5 like it’s made of glass ha! Keep up the great work.
Chalk it up to extreme impatience 🤣

Another Baxi install! Every time I see your newest video I shop getting a FK8/ FL5 again.
Find anything yet?

I find myself shifting for no reason because it’s so good lol
+1 kid over the shoulder eyeing the situation

Should add the clip when you got it about keeping it stock……
🤣 famous last words 🤦🏽♂️

Opposite for me… pain in the rear to take out. Easy to go back in

Yeeaaah the focus hunting is a bit annoying. I have everything on auto. Think I need to put focus point on wide.

Yeah he’s growing! 🥰
Yea man they dont stay young forever😭my son’s 16. About to get his License!

I wonder if that fits the acuity shifter.....
Great question… not sure
@@GridZilla you will be switching to acuity when they release theirs I can see it now LOLLL

is that fit on 2024 Honda civic hatchback 6 speed manual?
I would check with Hybid Racing. I’m not sure
What is the dash cover you have? Looks great.
Dash cover?
Unless I’m just tripping when you start taking apart the center console the dash looks like it has a sued cover over it.

It is! This made it better 😁

It’s not about lack of trust for what Honda gave us OEM, it’s about improving on what’s already good.
It needs a shift boot. Sorry, they look dumb without a boot.
I have a solution coming 😉

@@sebastiencouilloux7057 you have to feed the comp rod through the boot, leave the console loose, tighten down the rod then clip the console back in
