They need to be worried about getting criminals off the street rather than back on.

We have programs here in Montana that are aimed to reduce the recidivism (rate of reoffending) rate. I would rather they become reestablished and productive members of society. I have seen the evils as a Deputy and locking people up for extended periods of time and have them do absolutely nothing while incarcerated is a waste of taxpayers dollars!

5:24 punishment doesn’t restore loss of life. Warehousing inmates as a collective at the cost of $60-$70k ea per year only punishes tax payers, monetizes incarceration and creates jobs that pay half of the cost of storing them in the first place. Not every prisoner is a murderer and/or rapist. What does it mean to repay a debt to society? Constructive vs cyclical destruction of humanity look like ???? Community service? Death penalty?

5:38 punishments to correct unwanted behavior - carrot vs. stick?
Child development, teens, adult and even incarcerated senior citizens… what result are we looking for?

It works. Look at the scandinavian countries. We have a for profit incarceration system in our country and we have more inmates than any other country by far.

Great idea! Now if only they could do it without having to spend 36 million dollars to rehabilitate each inmate. Just like how they are “solving” homelessness by spending billions of dollars or paying $2 million dollars on a portable bathroom….

See the podcast by "That prison guard." He documents how Macomber's policies have resulted in a higher rate of prison murders. Notice the C.O.s had to express their opinions with their boss sitting in.

This program should only exists for lowerr level inmates. Prison is a school for illicit promotion. Some cant be rehabilitate specially murders.

What you say is not born out by programs such as those in place in Scandinavia, where murderers are eventually released and usually do not reoffend.
