SAIL to the bay of TOULON, Southern France

- Anchored in the lee of a swanky private island, Sheenagh finds the hook which drags overnight into deeper water. Reefed sailing along the coast to the Bay of Toulon to explore the city of 72 scuppered ships. Boating can be fun and frolics. Throw in a reef to steady the boat in high winds, heave to and a relative calm replaces life on the tilt.
S2 Ep11 AT last we get some sailing breeze giving us good speed but as usual in the wrong direction so tacking practice and much winching tests the crew. Saint-Mandrier-Sur-Mer is a good marina with a ferry service across the bay to the city.

Excellent video - I love the sailing parts.
I love switching off the engine 😀 and squeezing as much as our boat and sails can out of a good breeze 👍nothing better on the water!
I’m glad you liked the extended sailing section.

Hello friends! we were there in April 23. Nice to see that you visit the same places as we did. We went to Genoa and then back to the Netherlands because of the low water in the French canals. We especially liked Menton and the old town of San Remo.
Enjoy and have fun!

@@ruudfontaine great to hear from you and hope you’re both looking forward to getting out on the water very soon. You will get to these places much faster than we do in your beautiful speedy boat. Drop me a line and let us know your plans for this year 👍
Ahoy, love your videos very informative and well put together, I recently become a proud owner of Southerly 115 mk1 , iam going to move it to Canal to work on it so I have to unstep the mast and build a frame to put the mast on deck, do you know what is the clearance from water line to highest point of boat without the mast on and from waterline to deck please?
Hi thanks for watching and congrats on becoming a Southerly owner. My measurements on our Mk2 are:
Waterline to mast step is 1.475m
Highest point on our boat is the MFD housing at the helm, then there’s clearance to stand up at the helm.
Waterline to full clearance including standing at the helm is 2.6m
You should be careful and measure your own boat before going further really I think. There will be differences and getting it wrong at the lowest bridge could be costly 😳
Best wishes with your project 👍
