You feel the loss of Wes and so many cinematic geniuses who won't be giving us anything new....Thanks, Mick, for doing this for posterity.

I love both Scream and New Nightmare. I can see the Scream tapped into the social consciousness in a larger way, but New Nightmare wasn't just some kind of stepping stone. It was a badass flick. And, again, late in the series of sequels grounded the film in story and character journeys instead of jokes and creative kills. New Nightmare is one of the best of that series, and actually the very first one I ever saw. I was surprised at how little Freddy was in it. Great movie.

RIP Wes. I haven't been this heartbroken since the passing of Robin Williams. I'm truly devastated by Wes's death, like so many around the world. Thanks for the inspiration. Love to you and your family xx

It's amazing to me that Wes Craven owed his franchise to a scary random drunk.

Great interview. There's a lot to learn in this for up and coming filmmaker's. Wes was really down to earth, soft spoken....it's not surprising he used to be an English teacher.

I remember watching scream in the 90s as a teenager and the movies “target” audience and it felt so real and resonated so much...no I can see why.. Wes seemed to get teenagers and I also agree that the teen years are incredibly difficult..a great and very intelligent man

Anyone know what was Mr. Craven's original ending that he had written for ANOES? I've heard that the ending we see in the film (the whole _sunny morning / convertible top / mom grab_ sequence) was not his idea, and that he really disliked that ending ... but powers above him prevailed and insisted on it.
