What do you think about making a video sometime about midsoles and their lifespan? When should we start looking for another pair of shoes, and how can we tell when their life expectancy is ending? Thank you.
I've been a Saucony fan for years. I stopped into a Road Runner Sports today to try on the Ride 17 and Triumph 22. Both were very capable, Ride 17 a bit wide for a neutral trainer and the Triumph 22 was just a LARGE shoe. Enter the Glycerin- this shoe fit like a glove, firm-ish cushioning (which works for chubby folk like me) and came with a nice profile. I purchased the Glycerin and can't wait to put some miles on them.
the Triumphs has been awesome from the day they came out . what till the Triumph 22 come out in approx May time , PEbax foam , much more bounce back + energy return
I recently tried both of these shoes. I really wanted to like the Saucony. But the forefoot didn’t feel as cushioned as I would expect. I get ball of the foot pain and I didn’t feel protected by the Triumph. I also found the inner heel had a firmer feel almost like a stability shoe. It was strange to me. I’ve worn Glycerins for many years and the 21s have the tried and true Glycerin feel. I personally love the firm but cushioned feel of Brooks so the 21 works well for me.
I've been a massive fan of the Glycerin for a few years now. It got me from barely being able to run 1k to being Marathon ready in a couple years. Saying that I actually just got the Triumph 21, and I'm in love with it. Saucony is my jam at the moment with the Endorphin Pro 3s being my race day shoe. They still blow my mind every time I give them a good push. I would love to give the new Glycerin's a shot and see how they compare. I possibly would still enjoy the slightly roomier toe box feel, but the Triumph seems to be great after wearing it in a little.
For reasons I don't understand, the Triumph doesn't work that well for me. I have more miles in it over the last 6 months than any other shoe, because I keep thinking it should be good. But on the run, I don't feel it as particularly cushioned or bouncy. I'm a forefoot striker, and it often feels harsh to me. I'd rather run in the Ride 16 for easy runs. Hoka Mach 5 is much better for me even for easy running.
I had Triumph 21’s,10mm drop was too much and the heel was wobbly. I find the Ride 17’s with 8mm drop much better fit overall for base up to tempo then the Triumph 21’s. The Ride 17’s can do faster paces also but I prefer for this workouts the Speed 3/4 The Brooks 20’ had a more resilient foam overall and the 10mm drop was less noticeable. Both turned not the best daily trainer for me. And for recovery or long base run the Nimbus 25’s and 26’s work way much better. I’m still waiting for the Novablast 4 to arrive.

I have both shoes, the Triumph 21 has lost the softness of the previous versions, whereas the Brooks Glycerin 21 feels a bit softer than the 20 and a bit softer overall than the Triumph 21

Glycerin is BEST!
👍🏻 💪🏻 Saucony 💪
Triumph 20 is a darling of a shoe.. Thinking about getting the 21
Great video! Regarding the G21, what is the mm width of the forefoot and heel? What is the softness rating in HA? THANK YOU!

Love this comparison. Perfect for me 👌
Glycerin 21 all day, I have both. Brooks The Glycerin 21 are sooooo much more comfy. They remind me of my new balance 1080 v13’s
I Stay with my glicerin 20 (72€)!
Glycerin 20 is so good though, stock up while they’re cheap. 21 is a nice progression

Love my Triumph 21 but I find the laces terrible.
