He taught me to read, while my mom had always been too busy to play with me, too busy to read me stories etc. After I lost him my mom started going out more, partying, the first New Year’s Eve she dragged me along to a party, where we stayed till 3am, and she got drunk. There were no other kids there, I just spent the whole night alone reading a book. After that night I ended up just staying home alone whenever she went out. She started dating 2 years later, and it constantly felt like he was the priority. I was sent to boarding school, and though she drive thousands of kilometres to watch his races, she wouldn’t come visit me. It wasn’t all bad. She would at least send me money for school supplies, and buy me a shirt or two if I needed, so it was no where near this gils situation. But... it just always felt like I came in last, after her and her boyfriend.

Late reply, but it might have to do with custody of the kids seeing that the dad divorced the mom. Legally, he might not be able to actually have his daughter live with him. Just a speculative take.
And this is exactly why I won't have children. What if I mess up? I would rather adopt later in life once I am 100% financially and emotionally stable and if I get approved to get to adopt a kid, I know that it means that I am good enough to be a parent because they are pretty strict on who they allow to adopt kids atm. I've had a blanket since my birth. The hospital ran out of baby blankets (I know, right. Weird, but true story). So we went to the gift shop and got a Cars cover (I'm a 2007 boy), and I was wrapped up in it about 10 minutes after my birth, and am holding it now.

Don't complain to your kid how hard it was to raise them; that was your own decision, and now that you've created LIFE, you have an obligation to live for them now. I've had a blanket since my birth. The hospital ran out of baby blankets (I know, right. Weird, but true story). So we went to the gift shop and got a Cars cover (I'm a 2007 boy), and I was wrapped up in it about 10 minutes after my birth, and am holding it now.
Dont ever get rid of that blanket. Even if you dont sleep with it anymore, keep it in storage. You'll understand one day why I commented this.

Don't complain to your kid how hard it was to raise them; that was your own decision, and now that you've created LIFE, you have an obligation to live for them now.
