It really helps to see how your arms are tucked , the efficiency of your motions compared to mine playing the same fill. It was cool different perspective.
I am THE idea drummer. They aren't always good but they're never bad. Idea of the day; Swedish Drummer to donate rack system to Idea Drummer in unprecedented act of coolness as he embarks on his 'new studio/new drum kit' journey. Hi CJ, great fills as always. Actually, the grooves you played in those video are awesome as well. I tried to follow alone sometimes but always feel I’m missing a few notes and not sound as groovy as you did. Any chance you can include transcript of grooves as well? Thanks a lot.
CJ, suggestion on practice time to get the speed up on these tasty fills. You play them at such higher speeds, tough for me to get the same outputs. Any advice would be appreciate. Ed
I don't have the groove transcripts, since this is a fill-lesson. But I'll definitely write this down and try to make a groove lesson with that groove asap!!
I may be the only person who caught this but fill #3 sounds like the drum intro to Ain’t No Mountain high Enough? That’s the first thing came to mind 😂

The POV camera angle is excellent!! It’s what we see when we’re playing.
It was fun to try out! Might keep doing it for some future videos as well ^^

Idol Ang galing mag drums ❤ idol kita.
Very helpful, thanks
Glad it was helpful!😃
Great Bro 😎 thank you 🙏
You're most welcome!
Love the fills. Good stuff. Want to know how you tune to gwt such great tone, or what you do to the mix. Drums sound amazing
The trick is to tune the bottom head a little bit higher than the batter head.
In the mix, I add just a little bit EQ and compression :)
It’s hard already on the first one 😂😂
Mint lesson 👏

More groove videos will come, so hopefully I'll remember to put the grooves you like in those videos too :D
Thanks, bud!!
#3 is pure Ringo/Phil Collins!
CJ, fills are great. Kindly help me the fills that accompany them. Thanks ed
You mean grooves to accompany them? :)
Don't worry - I'm planning more content!

Do you ever accidentally hit your mike
It can definitely happen, but very rarely. I’m so used with the placement of the mics so it’s like second nature 😊
what drumset do you have i love the sound of it. Is it a pop drumset?
Technically, there's no such thing as a "pop drum set" - but the sizes can definitely fit with pop music!
This kit is a Pearl Reference Series kit.
What is the groove at the first fill ? Is there a note transciption of it ? Thank :)

@@ThatSwedishDrummer Thanks a lot. I'm looking forward it :)

Most likely! It's a well used fill in tons of songs!
Hola maestro tienes un plato que hace el efecto de un hit hat ,que plato es ese gracias
I’m not sure the automatic translation is correct 😅 do you mind specifying your question? 😊
I appears whenever you play the two and four on the snare , you use a rim shot is that correct?
Indeed!
60% of the time. it works every time. LOL!!!
