I once heard someone saying that we, humans, have a very different ideology for valuation of things. Once our basic needs of Food, Water, Shelter, Security and Internet is over, we go crazy about ho we value things. "Valuations, after a point when all necessities are covered, is all about psychology, the purpose, the asset serve doesn't matter outside the realm of survival necessities." Everytime I see a Car auction or million dollar paint sell or NFTs...I always get reminded of this qoute, and couldn't agree more on it everytime 😌
I collected as a kid back in the 90s and fell in love with it again in 2018!! Not only do I make a decent profit but I enjoy the collecting aspect of it and I'm a huge sports fan so it's fun for me and people who don't understand it or are hating on the hobby are the ones mad they didn't keep their collection as a kid like I did lol!!! I stick to basketball and football since that's what I know!! The hobby has grown imencily and I hope greed and overprinting does not send us into another junk wax era!!
Sports card rising……maybe for ultra high end stuff, goats, vintage…..but most ultra modern / modern stuff has dropped in value since march/ April 2021…..get the facts right WSJ
A few kids I know, make hundreds of dollars "Shorting" trading cards How? They borrow old cards before the new season comes out, and sell them When the new season comes out, the value of old cards go down (cards which are 1-2 years old) so they buy them back and repay it
I think the value of these cards do not come in what someone is willing to put in them money wise but based on how many people think the whole idea is stupid, they are essentially a possible future convert, thats value. if everyone is in on it the boat already passed and theres no more value, get it?
I was a comic book collector and was never into sports yet alone sports trading cards but my mother ended up buying them at the flea market years ago because the lady wanted to get rid of all her comics and sports cards and sold it to my Mom very cheaply.
Nothing and I mean nothing is like opening a pack from the 80’s or 90’s. Even packs today. It’s like opening a wonka bar and trying to get a golden ticket. It’s just hope and fun. There’s nothing like sharing a fun hobby with your dad or son. My grandfather collected cards, my dad/uncle collect cards, I collect cards, and my sons will. And all of those cards will go to me then to my sons. Eventually they will have a giant value to be life changing but at worst it’s a fun hobby that’s brings great memories of not only the players but watching with family. My only thing that pisses me off is that you can hardly find packs now.

You sound like an Amway speaker.
@@theyugiohempire7358 wut? What does that even mean 😂
@@Satadru74x9 that cards/NFTs are a massive speculative mania.
@@theyugiohempire7358 so how does that make me an Amway speaker 😅
Winning at sports card investing is quite literally all about playing your cards right.
Trading cards (like stock market, real estates, other collectibles…) will go up and down with how much money is in the market.

its already happening
When a society has more money than it needs.
Ha!
What money?!
People are broke!
This cardboard lunacy returning at THIS particular socioeconomic moment is WHAAAAAACKED THE F# OUT!
I did some research for one of my videos and I was surprised how there’s almost a separate economy and market for cards.
This video was the bell that rung in the top. When it goes mainstream, you're too late
I did not know the card market was so sophisticated. There is definitely opportunity in investing in the card market.
People: create nfts
Duel masters, vanguard, Pokémon: hey!
Great video behind the big money of sports cards 📈✅🤩
There's too much money sloshing around if hedge funds are putting money into this
I like how they misspelt Niche as nice, but it still means a good thing
"Collecting" cards yeah right. Everyone is SPECULATING on cards to collect MONEY. Get your story straight, WSJ.
I feel like a boomer trying to understand crypto 😂
Same
My card collection was set to be worth millions until the Mitchell Report
end of an era
I think there is a mistake in the title
So cool!!!
Nice video.
I have a closet shelf full of binders and binders full of these things.
Can nfts replace trading cards in the future?
Does anybody know of any of these sports card investing company NYSE ticker symbol?

Where can you go to find the price of a sports card?
ebay sold listings usually give a good idea
Very cool

How?
They borrow old cards before the new season comes out, and sell them
When the new season comes out, the value of old cards go down (cards which are 1-2 years old) so they buy them back and repay it
can they be used in casinos?
Your mom is still right. It is only worth what people want.
*is* transforming. Generation is singular. The word “enthusiasts” is part of a prepositional phrase.
Seems like sponsored content for sports-related NFT’s

Grading company is making a lot on people buying worthless cards 90s all over again
Totally agree. The grading companies are thieves, and are ruining the card collecting hobby.
This is SPECULATING at best
I can't make money on baseball because steriod or PED. I stop collecting baseball cards.
