- Hey there, it's me again, and today I'm reviewing NF's latest song "Happy" from his new album "Hope". To be honest, I wasn't really impressed with his prior two songs from the album, so I'm hoping "Happy" will change my mind.
The lyrics seem to touch on the struggles of finding happiness in life and dealing with inner demons. As the song progresses, the beat becomes more upbeat and almost hopeful.
Will this song make me 'happy' and back on board with NF's new album, or will I be disappointed? You'll have to watch the video to find out.

Skeem definitely doesn’t present his critiques ignorantly (even if some of them are just opinions)
And have you even watched the video? He liked the song??? Not to mention he’s never disliked NF he just got bored of NF’s style, and there’s nothing wrong with that, he has a right to his opinion and the ability to express it, not to mention that NF is literally doing what Skeem said he should, so clearly Nate felt similar himself…
And don’t get me wrong I personally disagree with a lot of Skeems takes, and I would be fine if Nate kept making the same stylistic choices, but I also appreciate the change of pace he’s made on Hope, and that’s all any of this really is a matter of opinion.

Is it to actually give a real honest critique of the music or is it to take advantage of the clicks since the album just dropped?
I would say everyone's main motive is to strike while the iron is hot... but hey that's just my opinion.
@@JTKing77 FACTS MAN! The fact Skeem also called Motto an OK song is pretty insulting. The fact NF attacked the industry when he is already hyped enough, just proves how powerful the song is. Plus no one has been treated as bad by the industry than NF. I love HOPE the album, but quite honestly it’s really upsetting that NOW people are starting to like NF, just because his music was too “Moody and Dark”. Even before Hope came out, his music was actually inspiring, therapeutic, and relatable. But it keeps getting better. I agree. To me NF hasn’t made a bad song. A few songs that sound bad, but every song is full of real passion, and real feelings. That’s why he’s the best artist because what he is making is not filled with the lies of the world. Being honest about your own flaws can help so many other people. I’m glad NF has found hope. I’m happy for him. Skeem is entertaining and does make some good points. But sometimes I really think it’s for the views because he knows who devoted NF’s fan base is so he says controversial things. I agree bro.

You should also have an open mind to other people's opinions and not be so closed-minded that you will fan boy out so far, so to make an account calling yourself THENF Expert.
His music is moody and dark and talks about real-life issues. That's not going to be everyone's cup of tea.
People listen to music for different reasons.
Just because people disagree with your opinion of NF doesn't mean you should white knight for him.
Instead of attacking people, you should be asking why they don't like NF and respecting their opinion when they give it.

He’s not telling us not to like it. He’s telling is it’s trash and we are 18 year old’s with bad taste in music. Notice all his videos are about NF and Tom Macdonald. Notice a pattern in the dedicated big fanbases. Who is next. Eminem and Nicki Minaj?
This is obviously meant as trolling. If it was just unbiased reaction to the song there would be other artists in the rotation of the channel. Or the criticism would be….simply critical. Not loaded with backhanded compliments or insinuations that “if you like this, you have the maturity of an 18 year old.”

Honestly the poppy beat made me think of a TobyMac song. I know some people don't like TobyMac, but I don't consider it insult to compare him in this moment, it just has a much more "radio friendly" sound to it, but it's still got that NF depth of anxiety and depression.
To me, Happy definitely sounded more like a radio type of song rather than his typical cinematic sounding songs like HOPE

I personally really enjoyed the album, there were different flows and sounds that made it good. As for the lyrics you're right they were pretty generic and predictable. But this album gives just about everything that Nate can currently do packed into one project.
I would consider myself a hardcore NF fan. I'll acknowledge some things on the front side. NF has a pretty die hard fan base which can impact their objectivity. I would say he's above average at just about every element of his game but to argue that he's an all time great is a bit much. Not everyone is going to resonate with him, but many of the critics are a bit as equally absurd in their criticism as his fans are of his praise.
That being said, I think it's important to understand what makes him unique. It isn't his insane rapping ability. Others can do/have done what he does and do it better. It isn't his insane beats, intense sound, word play, story telling, etc. (though I do believe he is underrated in these areas). I'm not even going to argue that the content of his songs are exclusive to him. Where I would say he excels is his ability to connect on an emotional level with the audience. But where I would argue he truly is a generational talent (yes, in this regard I will say generational) is that he is the first artist I've ever seen to have such an intricately designed metaphorical theme that he has utilized across albums and throughout his discography that utilizes music and video to tell a comprehensive, deeply personal story. I've seen pieces of this with other artists but never to this degree. This is what makes him truly unique.
In fairness, I understand how this can create a repetitive sound (especially if you are trying to connect to past themes), and can be a double edged sword, but it's also a part of what makes the whole story work. It makes criticism both fair and unfair at the same time because you can't completely divorce the two. I just say this as a response to some of your criticism of NF that I feel is both merited and a bit unfair at the same time.
I do think that the rest of this album marks an exploration into different musical styles that you haven't seen previously, and in that regard you will probably be pleasantly surprised with some of his songs. He utilizes a lot more vocals (and he's clearly been working on his voice) and has toned down some of the cinematic sound. Hope is without doubt the most theatrical song on the album and Motto, while a fun, light hearted music video, is probably the weakest song. If you see that as welcomed news, you might enjoy the rest of the album. At the end of the day, NF is about telling his story and tapping into emotion. That won't change and it shouldn't, otherwise it wouldn't be consistent with his brand. I hope you enjoy the rest of the collective work that is Hope. As an NF fan (hopefully not seen as one of the ones who claims he can walk on water) I certainly did.

I’m glad you enjoyed this song! Definitely a somewhat different sounding style for NF. I’ve watched your other videos on NF recently and it cracks me up seeing some fans get very defensive. I don’t agree with some of your takes but everyone has differing opinions and some fans seem to not get that. Looking forward to your review on the album!

Happy was okay. Moto was, a song.. But as a fan service song, Hope was great. I have about 3 maybe 4 songs I really like on the album. The rest are good... Except for 2 that I probably won't listen to unless I can't reach the skip button 😂 7/10 is my rating

Honestly. You lack depth of mind, depth of character. NF is a titan within the world of influence. His vulnerability, his energy, his soul, his emotion, his way of conveying his emotion through the art of music is unmatched. The problem is you, not NF. NF is making a true impact, changing lives while you sit here and make pointless, juvenile content that will be forgotten at a moments notice.
It’s odd that people who comment on things they don’t watch think they have depth of mind and character.
Skeem could say NF's the worst rapper in the world and I wouldn't care. Everyone has an opinion. And I'd still like the video because it would give me perspective. I didn't care for the album much if I'm being honest
So this dude likes the most generic NF song just because its different from what NF normally does? So he just really want NF to lose his “style” and be like everyone else and that will get a good review from Mr i have a background in psychology. Fair enough i guess thats just skeems “style” cant ask for him to change or id be a hypocrite. I can say this channel is terrible and insanely negative even thou he throws in a couple positive things to pretend he’s being unbiased and objective.
It’s odd how much you hate consistency. Consistency is required for being fair and unbiased. This song fixed the things I complained about regarding NF. So how would I not like it? If I didn’t like it, then I’d be negative for the sake of negativity and inconsistent. Two things which I’ve never been.

My main criticisms of NF in my past videos are quantifiable and objectively measurable (such as tone repetitions etc). So… you can like things I don’t like, but you can’t claim what I’m criticizing isn’t accurate. It’s a matter of preference as to whether or not you agree whether or not the things I point out are bad or not, but not whether or not they are true.

Ironically, the only two songs I didn't like on the album were actual "classic" rap songs, where he brags about how good he is and stuff (Pandemonium and Suffice)
The other songs either have something special/different going musically or speak to me lyrically.
I think songs like Happy are exactly what NF fans want. They mainly connect with his music emotionally, not musically. It doesn't really matter if the song sounds like an Ed Sheeran pop song with guitars or a melancholic tear-jerker with piano.

There is only truth and untruth. “My truth” = pointless opinion. The core of every major critique I’ve given of NF can be quantitatively and objectively measured. One can say they enjoy the things I have criticized about NF, but if they said what I said about NF was untrue, they’d be objectively incorrect.
