I always get a laugh when I think about the classical music guys in the orchestras when first presented with a black metal band to play to. I mean I remember a friend of my dads, a violinist in the local philharmonic flipping out angrily when she visited and I had mudhoney on the stereo in the 90s. God knows what she'd think of black metal lol
Death Cult Armageddon was released September 9, 2003. I was a junior in high school and heavy metal enjoyed a resurgence in the U.S. at the time. Great times to be a metalhead.
kajadenmark i can tell he's thats a natural accent because ive been to Norway and the people there when they speak english their accents are never really that thick. so just cuz he can annunciate doesnt mean hes trying to speak american.
i love how every one of their albums have their own sound and very different from one another. very good band, and if your just watching this video for fun, i suggest you give this band a try, Dimmu borgir yea!
No, he was busy. He needed a new mobile or something. Me and my friend got his autograph on a Burger Kin-napkin, haha... Hellhammer also lives nearby. But I don't belive he is the shopping-mall guy.
Haha, yeah, no kidding. There are some Slipknot comments here somewhere too. Slipknot doesn't really have anything to do with Dimmu Borgir. I should disable comments.
I know the intro is long and I've read several comments about this but I have to keep it on for copyright purposes. After all, Robb's Metal Works was nice enough to let me keep this up.
@nstolpa well i suppose he could like the music but not necessarily agree with the themes of the lyrics. Tuomas Holopainen of nightwish feels the same way (althugh he is not necessarily christian)
Personally I like it both but for different reasons. The original black metal is more progressive and angry, wich fits if you're in a bad or angry mood. However I agree, most often I prefer symphonic black metal, and Dimmu Borgir are one of the greatest symphonic black metal bands out there.
Well, at least he says the Dimmu Borgir isn't doing a sellout, as long as they just sat "We are here to promote ourselves", and "50 000 copies isn't enough in the US", Dimmu Borgir can't be sellouts. Right?
I remember Pantera is from Texas (At least Dimebag Darrell and his brother Vinnie were..) They are considered one of the most influencial metalbands of the past 15 years.... So i don't think Texas is unmetal =P
Compare enthroned darkness triumphant and In sorte diaboli.the difference is tremendous...i guess the good old days of pure black metal have gone forever
finally found a video with Shagrath as himself. All that death growling must be harsh on his voicebox. Seems to be the more aggressive the stage personality, the nicer the person really. Anyway, no need to idolize him as 'Lord Shagrath', in this video, he's just like the rest of us
love th chimaira into, immposiblity to reason was a good cd, but enough about chimaira, dimmu borgir has withstood time, there new cds are amazing as well as the old, despite band member changes its still basically the same
I think Dimmu Borgir and Gorgoroth are fucking sweet bands Gorgoroth for being more of the raw traditional Black Metal while Dimmu Borgir is kind of their own style symphonic black/extreme metal. And to all the Europeans claiming they have the best bands, Europe has awesome Black Metal, America has the best Death Metal
Dimmu never said they were satanic. Like Shagrath said in a interview I've read. It's personal. Few of them believe in it but aren't satanic...Anyway, I like the music and enjoy it. The goal in there life is to make music and make some money out of it....It's like ppl who are doctors...It's there way to make music. If they stay underground....They won't really make good money wouldn't they? HAIL DIMMU!!!!
Some of these comments make the "Disable Comments" option so tempting.
I love his voice.
He's so quiet and shy when he's not on stage. ♥
Dimmu borgir is fantastic. Shagrath...is very gorgeous.
The song is Eyes of a Criminal by Chimaira

Crazy because I saw Mayhem yesterday at Mohawk, (also Austin, TX). They fkn ruled!!!
shagrath is the frontman for dimmu, galder is just a guitarist, i dont think she would focus on him.
Death Cult Armageddon was released September 9, 2003. I was a junior in high school and heavy metal enjoyed a resurgence in the U.S. at the time. Great times to be a metalhead.
@cobhc125 Dunno the name of the song, but I think it's the voice of Mark Hunter, so it might be a Chimaira song.
I can only find Dimmu Borgir CD's at Hot Topic although im looking for ''For All Tid''. Can't find it anywhere.
im norwegian and i didnt know that they were from norway hwen i started to listen to them.

Shagrath was born on my brothers birthday November 18th ( nevermind the other comment damn autocorrect)
its crazy to see how far they have come since then
Nicole Luciano Agreed
kajadenmark i can tell he's thats a natural accent because ive been to Norway and the people there when they speak english their accents are never really that thick. so just cuz he can annunciate doesnt mean hes trying to speak american.

Galder's eyes are really puffy >_>
lol
im sad that they didnt compose the orchestra, but wither way the album turned out amazing
I'm waiting on the dispute I made regarding the audio. The reason the audio was cut was because of the song at the beginning. Lame.
i love how every one of their albums have their own sound and very different from one another. very good band, and if your just watching this video for fun, i suggest you give this band a try, Dimmu borgir yea!
Haha, that's funny because Robb's Metal Works gave me permission to add the video too.
this must have been a while ago. Shagraths voice is messed up now. his voice sounds well scary.
What song? Are you talking about the one at the beginning of the video because that isn't them.
I love Dimmu...love the interview...love it.
I think he dies it black so when he parts it, the skin on the top of his head is more prominent that it normally would be.
Hey , Kataklysm is written with K !
Turn that frown upside down!
Did the interveiwer call that guy 'shag rat'?
the song before the interview is beautiful wich bans is?
About 29-30. He's 31 right now so it wasn't too long ago.

No, he was busy. He needed a new mobile or something. Me and my friend got his autograph on a Burger Kin-napkin, haha... Hellhammer also lives nearby. But I don't belive he is the shopping-mall guy.
not slipknot mate^^ may seem so in the whisper part tho
That's badass. Did you talk?
They are mostly very nice dudes. But this interview was when dimmu borgir were in their highest peak. Love this death cult armageddon era.
Shagrath is so calm during interviews.
whats the song that has been setten up ont his video? and from who? is it dimmu?
Can't say which song, for sure... But, that's Chimaira right there.
Haha, yeah, no kidding. There are some Slipknot comments here somewhere too. Slipknot doesn't really have anything to do with Dimmu Borgir. I should disable comments.

Ihsahn and Samoth from Emperor were both arrested for burning churches in the mid ninties, must be a Norway thing lol.
Its actually the mustache... Very few people in metal who look like that...
I cant wait I'm seeing Dimmu and Danzig on the 11th
I don't know the name of the song at the beginning. Sorry.

I believe Otep.
Thanks!
elmetgwennhudkoad Dimmu Borgir
elmetgwennhudkoad DIMMU BORGIR LOVE THEM !!!!😈💔💋
Shagrath is a really quite person, much different than I expected. Not my favourite band, but Dimmu kicks so much ass.
She interviews only Shagrath... That sucks, I think Galder would had been something to say.
Wow. I thought his voice would be scratchy.
at 5:56, did she just say "trash riffs"?
he seems so enthousiastic !!
xD the automatic subtitles xDDDD a gig with samael and the authomatic subtitles writes: A gig with some oil xD
como se llama la cancion que sale al principio del video
which song is this on the beguinning????
nice begining with Eyes Of A Criminal
CHIMAIRA rulez
Shagrath doesnt shut up man, I wanted to hear what galder had to say
Bands don't really want to discuss this because they don't want to be judge I guess.
anyone knows wt is the song name of the begining?

Did you ever find out? I could shazam it but I'm too lazy right now
Am I the only one who couldn't stop looking at Shagrath's MASSIVE part?
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Compare enthroned darkness triumphant and In sorte diaboli.the difference is tremendous...i guess the good old days of pure black metal have gone forever
Dimmu Borgir was never involved in church burnings nor have they declared that they are satanists.
The song is "Eyes of a Criminal" and it is by "Chimaira"
Awesome song and band.
Obviously fIFJBGRDBJFR didn't know.. so he just insulted himself.
Thanx, I love you too.
If the audio is disabled then why the fuck is this video still on?
finally found a video with Shagrath as himself. All that death growling must be harsh on his voicebox. Seems to be the more aggressive the stage personality, the nicer the person really. Anyway, no need to idolize him as 'Lord Shagrath', in this video, he's just like the rest of us
