bro don't throw any tech away just create a graveyard in your garage or basement
I'm in my garage! There isn't anymore space haha.
😆😆😆
@@ChrisTitusTech I hear there's some unused Hyperloop tunnels available....
or you could sell them to us as souvenirs
Yea I also want you NOT to add to the never ending cycle of electronic waste! I'm living over in Sweden so I don't ask you to send anything, but please let some local people or kids have it to play around with. 💜🤘
Sometimes the best thing to do is tear everything out and start over. The "psychological garbage" in a space can really depress or annoy someone over time.
It's amazing that a clutter of projects "I'll do that soon" can kill your headspace. I feel so much better after this and am even working on a video today right after this one.
So true, but unless you got a stable economy, it is hard to sort out what not to keep. I don't know how many times I got rid of things as simple as power cords, and I do keep some for exchanging in the future, but still I end up with needing just that I gave away. It also often happens within two weeks or something like it. Nope, it doesn't work to just wait two weeks...
@@sykoteddy sometimes just organizing them and putting away from your workspace in enough
oh man as soon as this video dropped I started watching it, but then quickly changed to watching it on my computer instead, thanks for the update!
Great to see you back Chris and I agree you sometimes just need that spring clean and sort out.👍
Kind of crazy how I just went to see if there was any new content
Always great to see Chris ! Big love. Kindest regards, Richard U.K
I'm so happy for Chris !! What a great setup !! Keep making videos and enjoy life.
Chris I LOVE your channel. Most stuff is way over my head but I do learn little bits from time to time. thank you.
Wondered where you got too, thought the Microsoft Stasi had taken you away to be formatted! 🤣
Even with a shirt on you looking jacked! Very slim but solid! Amazing work with body and studio transformation!
Nice Reno & workstation, Chris! Looking forward to new streams and videos.
It's good to have you back. I enjoy and look foreward to your combination of knowledge and entertainment.
Great job on the redesign, the studio looks nice! Also, welcome back!
Spring clean? Sounds like a good idea, you've inspired me to do the same!
Glad to see you again, Chris
Welcome back!
Wow bro this turned out great
An enjoyable and inspiring workplace is paramount!
every failer is a best lesson. Ur room looks amazing and modern ;)
I thought Chris had retired 😂🤣🤩 great work station dude 😎
Glad that, even that this channel is focused on technology, you can talk about how these things have made you feel, that maybe not everthing needs to be accomplished and we should focus on the prior things
Also, seeing your career, have you contributed to the Linux Kernel project? I mean, you know so much about computers and OS's and the way you manage Linux it's just hardcore
But maybe i'm mixing shell and programming, even then, still fascinating how much you know about everything, keep the good work! hope one day i can be as pro as you
I would love to see you do a run down of what is in your 2 racks in detail and what you use each machine for in its current state
Pls try Home Assistant for automations.
With the mention of the issue of PCIe it reminded me about how when I got my current PC the ASUS ProArt X670E was one of like 2 motherboards with more than 2 PCIe slots for the new 7950, which was important as at the time I was planning to do virtualization and have a Linux and Windows VM. It was a pain troubleshooting and doing it with a thunderbolt 4 dock was just annoying so now I just dualboot. but a full workstation set up probably makes sense for someone trying to be reasonable.
I love the new setup!
Last week I rearranged the furniture in the living room, which is where I have the computer, I now have a whole room behind me instead of a wall with a green screen, so I have to build something to fix that later. I have also started to sell all old electronics, because I don't want to have stuff that I don't use in my home anymore.
Don’t forget the Pablo Elise lamp.
if you are looking to offload the failed projects, I would be happy to take them on. Depending on viability, I might try them out on YT.
any way to change win 11 taskbar size?
out of curiosity are u still daily driving thorium? because ive been using brave the past couple years and recently gave floorp a try and its not working out for me
Why would you go with OpenHAB instead of HomeAssistant? I'm curious.
Chris, very good shape
You need to use the open source Home Assistant for automation. Using anything else would probably be a mistake after you learn and explore Home Assistant. You'll have realized the time you wasted using anything else.
Any plans to get a raptor desktop or milk riscv desktop and review/use them?
Love your honesty in this video, what phone are you using now does
Just using a Pixel with a huge debloat to make it very minimal. There is a project called the Universal Android Debloat that does a good job of stripping most of the junk from the phone. I get about 5 days battery life after doing this.
I see that you are a carpenter too.
"Some spackle and paint makes Chris the carpenter he ain't."
What about self hosting your automation? It would side-step your limitations with that provider, and ostensibly give you greater flexibility.
Im planning to get high end gaming pc in about 6-9months, after 3 yr break. Is windows 10 still a valid option or do I need to get win 11?
you right about the mic! the bigger the better...
Until today I felt bad about having a more powerful PC than Chris Titus, finally that's in the past.
8000 dollars? God daumn man! Don't get me wrong, I am happy for you because that thing looks AMAZING, but holy hell that really ain't something someone *usually* goes for, for a "home system"! 😅
Hey man, nice setup ✌🏻
Are you still into the mining?
You know you have too much stuff when you need to automate things
Have u tried Cosmic DE on Arch
A fresh installation of Man cave OS, lol
time to stream age of empires again
Once I bought a whole piano thinking I want to learn to play, but a year later decided that playing tennis instead of sitting even more is better for an office worker. So, failed projects are just part of normal life, especially for people with active and curious minds.
Hey Chris...... Any thought on trying Unraid.........
It's not a bad piece of software, but I have really started to love proxmox so much that its hard for me to look at unraid. Proxmox with community scripts make it a powerhouse for any home lab.
A Xeon is not as interesting as a Threadripper but if you get it for free then you take it. :)
Hehe, it is a boring business system... but it has power to make so much. I'm going to be using arch + hyprland and then use QEMU to run windows via looking glass. I had this setup a year or so ago, but it would be perfect today.
@@ChrisTitusTechNice. But dwm for me of course. ;)
Hey Chris how do I get in touch with you for a quote on services I need for my computer and network. I’m having some major security concerns and as I work online it’s causing me a major headache. I’ve been troubleshooting and spending money fighting this for 2 years and am looking for an expert that’s obviously trustworthy at this point. Looking forward to hearing from you!
I thought, that you have builded the PC.
I mean, if devices you don't want still work, throw them my way... :P
It would be interesting to analyze the amount of electric energy people consume just to turn on and off a light bulb in that way.
It has to be more, but the amount of energy you save would outweigh the downside. Those backlights I'd just leave on 24/7 if I didn't have them hooked up to a smart switch.
Raspberry Pie 5 has good video then?
I remember most distros not achieving good video playback on UA-cam with the previous versions.
Gardiner would have a hissyfit and say, “What do you mean? Linux phones are the best thing ever.” ;-)
We have some of those HP xeon machines in some locations and they suck ass. :D
i see thorium is still used hehe
Chris bought the whole “sorry I was a weirdo dickhead” apology from the dev. :-)
Sorry, Chris. All that progress without cable management is how we are judged 🙃
Anyone make the obligatory "nice rack" joke yet?
Not me, last time I did that I was gored by a moose.
@@networkg "My sister was bitten by a moose once...." (Monty Python and the Holy Grail opening credits).
i use arch by the way
I tell the ladies I FIX Arch when it breaks, and the bras just keep falling off. :)
Searching for something new with the greatest tool of all time and instead was invited to a cozy tour of the new kit. Love it.
Where are you man I asked Perplexity about you it thinks that you're a comedian lol
Programming philza
minek ez a geciseg?
Sorry..... I don't do Windows....... Linux only...! =)
Greetings from Russia.
You failed if you don't try at all, just wasting a time, and it can be back.
I still think that AMD Epic cpu's are way better then INTEL Xeon's !!!!

I'd gladly pay for shipping if you want to donate your trash bag to a 73 yo linux tinkerer.
