Dear Rainbolt, I have been following you since you had like 2k subs, and today was my first time playing Geoguessr ever. I did okey, 3/5 were relatively close guesses (4k each) and 2 were total disaster. Nevertheless, i really had fun. Keep doing this. I hope i will get better with your help. Peace brother!
Edit: I didn't know you posted link from tomorrow's game ( even tho it says, dumb me). I thought you just expect everyone to play fair and play the game first, before watching. And this game is link from yesterday. Then, I can't wait to see tomorrow's video to learn what I did wrong.
"For all the guys at the top of the leaderboard you guys have no lives and are weird for cheating." The one guy who had no idea how to play this game and still hit every spot
With enough time and dedication and experience you could possibly get 25k, but yeah it is just weird that you think others will believe you did it in under 20 sec and I don’t understand what the point is like do they expect us to praise them or something ?
Round 1 - 4193 points, Knew the sign was Swedish, remembered from a past video about the dashed road lines and went above Stockholm just in case it was somehow Finland Round 2 - 4761 points, I’m British. There were sheep. There was only one conclusion. It had to be Wales. Round 3 - 36 points, Damn it! A complete guess based off the climate, Spain didn’t even cross my mind. Need to get those road lines remembered more! Round 4 - 4557 points, After the last round Spain was on my mind but I went with Portugal and got it! Went in between Lisbon and Porto just to be safe. Round 5 - 2722 points, Knew it was the USA but guessed further south because of the desert feel - guessed NE Colorado. Total: 16,269 points - very happy with this round! Not sure I would’ve been able to differentiate Mexico from Spain with my knowledge right now so I’m chuffed to get what I got.
please keep posting your scores and similar, i look for them in the comments as a more realistic guideline for how i did as i do not compare to rainbolt at all. thank you very much
I hope you continued practicing these. It would be great to see you improve. What I seen here was mostly you explaining your NMPZ hunches for a minute each map, rather than attempting to line up features, or as you stated, use signage. Keep it up! :) PS: Im not a player myself.
This was the first one I actually tried for myself and it was the first ever geoguessr round I played. I ended up getting 18k with 4 guesses above 4k and the spain round I honestly didn't know what to go off of and picked Columbia. Your videos have helped a lot in me getting such a score so ty c:
Back for the Sweden knowledge, first I thought as you far south but the more I looked at it, the feel, cam town name it made some sense for that island to a point where I was 50/50, that island was a pretty risky guess but then I saw the flag of that island and then I knew we were there. Side note I literally bicycled right exactly on that spot 2 months ago and it said Löttorp on the farn so I should’ve really 5ked:/
im glad as an irish person i beat you on atleast 1 round. I could tell it was UK because the number plate, even though blurred, it just looked like a UK plate to me lol
Nice vid rainbolt you absolute king. 1st round imo Öland usually shares a fairly similar vibe to Denmark, and environment-wise that round felt fairly similar to Denmark. A lot of southern Sweden still has thick forests & rolling hills. Would say for 2nd round that Wales looks sorta similar to Ireland imo, and feel like Ireland would have thicker hedges & more narrow roads. 3rd round was interesting, did not get the right vibe from it so was an interesting learning point. 4th round ngl rare north Portugal imo, don't think there's much indication that it would ever be north. 5th round felt fairly similar to some rounds you sometimes get in southern Sask / Alberta, with gravely roads and stuff, so felt like the closest US region (Montana) made the most sense for that type of look.
Fun series! Just a suggestion, maybe putting both the current day and tomorrow's challenge link in the description would be nice; avoids the need to go back in other videos descriptions for those looking at videos afterwards.
i did really well on this one (by my standards - im not exactly an expert here) EXCEPT for the god damn england guess. I thought england first, but as I saw the sheep, and looked at it for longer and longer, it started looking like new zealand to me. i got stuck in the 50/50 between new zealand (im aus, so i see sheep and grass and think nz) and england, and ended up picking the wrong one. there were probably like, poles i could've used as clues but yes. incredibly frustrating round for me.
I scored 19,203. 4.6k on the southern swedish round 4.7k on the welsh round (the license plate gave it away that it was UK, and landscape made me go wales) 2.3k on the spanish round, I actually went Italy, I was hesitating between italy and spain and got it wrong sadly 4.6k on the portuguese round 3k on the montana round, I guessed South Dakota so it's ok in my eyes
I would've never thought you could learn from me, but here we are. Personally i tend to spend alot of time on every round, looking at all the possible details that could help me, most of the time it's useless since i'm not that good of a player but sometimes it pays off and you get around 5k without having read any signs. I've been trying to play with your fast pace style lately just to be able to see more rounds and improve faster. On the UK round at 2:07, we can see a bunch of small mountains everywhere and you choose a perfectly flat spot in Ireland. I'm not saying you should scan every mountain Geowizard style to find exactly which one it is, but when you zoom in you can approximately judge the height of the mountains and find the right region.
Got around 20.700. You were closer in Sweden and Portugal. I knew round 2 wasn’t Ireland (ireland grass meta lets goooo) and identified Wales correctly. I was a little bit closer in Spain and got a few more points in the US round because of pure luck. Can’t wait to see tomorrows video!
I got 22,266 I am really proud of how I performed actually, especially considering how new I am to geoguessr. I usually do terrible. Round 1: 4596, pretty easy Sweden, was worried with the region guessing but ended up getting a pretty decent guess after going a bit more South because it was kinda flat. Round 2: 4507, I did the same thing rainbolt did and thought it was Ireland, however I did go far right Ireland as a bit of a hedge because I thought it might still be uk which it ended up being. round 3: 4585, This took me a little bit of thinking because I am bad, but I ended up going a bit southeast in Spain where I felt like I had seen similar looking mountains before, and it ended up being a good guess, a little bit off tho but still good Round 4: 4368, Pretty easy Portugal with the license plates, I don't know my Portugal well tho so I just guessed near the capitol and it ended up being more north. Round 5: 4210, Pretty easy US, however region guessing in the US is pain, I ended up getting lucky tho and guessed the right state being Montana, however I went the southern border so it was a bit off still.
How I did yesterday: Rd 1: right country! but wrong side of the country. Rd 2: I guesses NZ from the sheep & was on the opposite side of the world. Oof, terrible guess. Rd 3: right country! but went too far north. Rd 4: had no clue on what country it could be. Got confused & thought maybe the Geo car was low so guessed Japan. Another terrible round. Rd 5: right country & right state! but guessed the NE corner instead of the correct area. How I did on tomorrow's: TERRIBLE. So, so bad. 2/5 countries correct & way, way off on 2/5. Barely above 9K in pts. If you could include tips for us noobs, I'd really appreciate it. Especially on maps like Rd 4.
Why doesn’t main geoguessr have countries like venezuela and chad and mail and liberia and all those other african countries etc, but they do have it in the map “unexplored world”? like why is it allowed in one map but not the other
Please don't be too self-conscious about your performance. You're already way better than most people will ever be. I'm horrible at Geo guesser, but I've learned a lot in the past couple of days playing along and listening to your thought process.
Only just now saw this vid but the Nebraska guess could have been more accurate if you knew about rain shadows. If you looked at the dry vegetation (one may even say 'arid'), it was never going to be as far east as your guess. It was clearly a bit east of the rocky's. I think you could greatly improve your accuracy if you read up on rain shadows (I see you make similar mistakes in indonesia and japan).
hi rainbolt idk if this is relevant info or not but today i spotted a google street view car in Łódź, Poland, so expect new footage from there sometime soon
All the people getting 25k are just advertising themselves as weird cheating vibekillers… i dont get the reasoning there. Let a community have a fun REAL ranking
you looked around 270 degrees on the last round, if you looked in the remaining 90 degrees to the west you'd have seen the rocky mountains 😂
Yea I was gonna share this tip as well haha

The top score there had four rounds with 3 seconds each.
That just screams browser plugin.

this was one of the best ideas you've ever had! it's nice to have this kind of interaction with your subs, keep up the good work bro
Love seeing the good and the bad games, makes it authentic

im loving this new series it helps me learn a lot and it feels more informal which i love
Alright somehow 4999'd the first location in tomorrows challenge. Definitely my all-time best guess
when i saw the sheep i immediately went nz
imagine cheating in a game like this where the literal goal is to get to know the world better lmao
i outscored rainbolt... i've peaked

got 17.8k my highest yet, this challenge is actually really helping me learn. Thx for the educational content Rainbolt
The region near Valladolid in Spain (the one you picked) is way flatter and has more pines forests/fields than bushy hills like in the south !
Really enjoying these short videos man, keep making them!
Love the sheep impression
If you look off to the west on the round 5 guess, you can clearly see a massive mountain chain, which gives away it was close to the rockies.
the "ireland" got me, but i still got a 4k on it
for the Wales one I also thought Ireland (from Ireland) until I saw the white licence plate on the car
Fun series! Just a suggestion, maybe putting both the current day and tomorrow's challenge link in the description would be nice; avoids the need to go back in other videos descriptions for those looking at videos afterwards.
I was a little surprised that I could instantly identify Wales, I guess years of holidaying there have finally paid off.
Just car plates I guess. Although I'm not sure if everywhere in the UK doesn't have a blue strip on the left. Ireland does I think.
"Blinky moment right there"
Finally a chance for us mortals to beat you for once :)
Sheep threw me off on round 2 thought it was new zeland. Big rip.

HAHA that little town you picked in sweden, i live very close by
i searched for "mao" on your channel and this is what came up
I think she wrote that she wanted to be science teacher in my notes
I scored 19,203.

2.3k on the spanish round, I actually went Italy, I was hesitating between italy and spain and got it wrong sadly
4.6k on the portuguese round
3k on the montana round, I guessed South Dakota so it's ok in my eyes
i just looked at the sign for the first round and went iceland even though i saw dashlines😂
you’re a cool guy rainbolt 👍

Irish warning for sharp corner signs and similar are all yellow
very common rainbolt W
you probably saw the NE (meaning northeast) on the road sign and that planted Nebraska in your head as that's the postal abbreviation
Round 1 - 4533 pts
Round 2 - 4255 pts

Round 4 - 4647 pts
