Thank Pastor Vlad! I've been at my current church for four years and after a lot of prayer and finally God blessing us with a new church this week we say our goodbyes. I served at the church on the worship team for a couple of years and this will be my last time. Usually they give me a couple of lead songs but this time I'm singing only harmonies.
I want to glorify God in everything I do. Thank you for what you said don't leave quietly but also don't disrupt loudly. Take the blessing. And finally shake the dust off your feet!

I feel like this is a one sided response. Sometimes the pastors are not kosher and you’re leaving because of spiritual abuse. I’ve had pastors flat out ignore & avoid me when I tried to schedule & have a sit down convo with them 3 times. So there’s nothing more I could do. I approached it biblically & they spread lies about me instead.

I agree, this is a one sided response. Also he's generalizing particular instances in the Bible. As far as we know Jethro never tried to cheat Moses so it makes sense that Moses would be confident to ask him permission. Laban on the other hand cheated Jacob every chance he got. So why would Jacob ask for his permission? Sometimes preachers just say things that will set up the sheep to be abused.

If you are under a pastor without integrity, you don't need to get permission. That sounds like cultish. You don't need permission. Be polite with your letter of resignation. This is why there is so much spiritual anxiety among people. Too much control. Very sad when people need an adult to tell another adult something like this.

You can automatically attend a church but to become a member you meet with the Pastor or Elders and give a credible profession of faith get baptized, and get approved for membership. My last church you had to be attending for six months straight before you could even go to the new members class.

What if they put a curse on anyone who decides to leave? Some pastors cling to membership and growth and scare ppl into staying even if they’re not meant to be there. It makes it hard to leave and ruins ppls relationship with God. Some places don’t allow ppl to leave honorably and guilt trip and bully ppl with smear campaign to “teach them a lesson”so they feel like they can’t ever leave and that it’s a sin to even think of consider going elsewhere. They say if they don’t like you then God doesn’t like you and they put curses on anyone who leave their congregation regardless of whether ur cordial/formal or not. What should one do in such a case?

This is one thing I keep thinking about, and it's driving me crazy. My church I'm thinking about moving on from, I have only positive things to say about, it's where I got saved, it's where I have met some of my lifetime friends, and where I serve at in many different ways. However I believe it is time that I move on and take my gifts to serve elsewhere. And as I grow more knowledgeable in my faith, I'm starting to disagree more and more with the theology that is taught.

Oh dear, your comment came on the same day I am questioning my own perception of witchcraft in the Christian church. My recent research on this issue is about a broader interpretation of the word witchcraft. It's about churches using worship methods to get people to join in excessive jubliation which brings people into states of consciousness that they then interpret as being filled with Holy Spirit (when it really is the physical flood of endorphins, dopamine, saratonin and adrenalin.)
Just like when people attended rock concerts and went crazy wild and worshiped Beatles attributing magical power coming FROM the Beatles when it was really coming from the participation ... the combined involvement of individuals in the crowd (vibrations) °♤°

Yes, the buildings are filled with all kinds of people speaking good scripture things, singing loudly, and waiving their arms high in the air, even shaking their hips and jumping up and down yelling in "tongues". I started to explore that kind of church a block away from my new apartment every Sunday and Wednesday last year; and I prayed every single da...
"Holy Spirit, I believe, help my disbelief!"
because it seemed so extreme and flamboyant to me, like crazy people. ( No more than 40 members.) They were very sweet people, all lovey-dovey, but nobody had time for newcomers. They. sang a lot! And thelined upup at the altar by the dozens and did hands-on healings and shouting in gibberish; people fell on the floor and just layed there. I swear nobody actually got healed.
The young pastor had been obese but had one of those gut- bypass surgeries and had a very badly bum leg. His young wife had only one lung, asthma, was hospitalized during the year, and had 4 young children. The prayer-leader was obese and diabetic with stage 3 colon cancer. The top 8 leaders were all extremely overweight, fashionable and flashed their abundance. I loved them all very much, but it just all felt crazy to me. I prayed all through every service that the Holy Spirit would help rid me of my suspicion and disbelief, but he never did. So I and 2 other grandmas stopped going and started texting eachother regarding our doubts, no holds barred.
We started to watch videos about why people left these churches and everything we could find regarding the issue of cults. That's how I came to realize what we had been suspecting all along.
It was a form of group trance or hypnosis or witchcraft... not "slain in the spirit" nor work of Holy Spirit.
I feel very sorry for the people because they were really nice people trying very hard and believing they were on an awesome, narrow path to God!
      I'm done! Thanks for reading!!

I'm going through something similar. They were celebrating Halloween type things, and having women pastors (when there is clear instructions on order in the Bible, and overseers also known as pastors, must be men).

    • @JillCee
      @JillCee Рік тому +3

@@DennisJ42 The issues at the church were fairly extensive. Not willing to take a stand in anything that might offend someone. The focus was on numbers and growth for sure. Women pastors is not an issue I am willing to fight because of Deborah and Jesus was about educating and equipping women. It was pretty culturally radical do Mary to be the one who announced to the men that Jesus was no longer in the tomb. A woman still has to be accountable to the Word of course. But when teachings are overlooked and bypassed about morality and there is no depth to the relationships, I cannot stay. I also got yelled at for suggesting doing a prayer meeting on a larger issue.

    • @DennisJ42
      @DennisJ42 Рік тому +1

@@JillCee oh I'm not saying women weren't important. You're right in they were trusted to bring the message that the tomb was empty. But it is clear when in a church they are not to be pastors (overseers). Does it mean women can't tell people about Jesus outside the church? No, I don't believe so. Man is the head of woman, and Jesus is the head of man / the Church. It also describes the qualifications of an overseer in a church. If we start saying "oh but things have changed and are different now" .. then are we conforming to the world? Or to God's Word, which was spirit breathed? Paul spoke about this, and the order that God made men first.
This isn't about making women feel less important, they can do things us men can't do, one being bearing children in the womb (which is an amazing thing).
John MacArthur also preaches on this. You should look it up. :) He should be able to convey it clearer perhaps, then I can.
The church I went to is pretty much preaching prosperity gospel.

@@DennisJ42 The prosperity gospel is problematic for sure. But the problem is churches have just gotten away from Scripture and knowing God. I have seen some amazing women pastors working alongside their husbands. In each case, they do work under their husband’s authority. I have definitely seen women pastors go awry as well. We just need to keep seeking God’s discernment so that we can find our Christian family.… and keep diving into scripture to learn it and hear His voice as well.

For those leaving because of spiritual abuse, word curses, or it’s in a way where God hasn’t shown you where to go but it’s not an environment you’re not growing in. Stop, take a moment, and examine your spirit. You don’t want to play the blame game. Before you leave ask God for a peaceful transition. Like Vlad said do things with integrity. He’s sees our hearts. His word says I’ll even make your enemies at peace with you. We have to remember we don’t wrestle against flesh and blood but principalities. He is right when he says pray a blessing and dust off your feet. I’ve seen people leave in offense and taken it where they go. It’s important to remember above all God is your God, no matter where you go you have to submit to Him and His word! No matter where you go what’s in you and the test God has set up for you will be put before you and you have to submit yourself to the Potters wheel. It’s not about the physical place as more it is about where you are in JESUS! The physical place around you can change but you will still have to trust God’s word and will, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit to navigate you. Just remember to examine yourself I pray this has blessed someone as it has me 🙏🏽

Can you give us advice if the pastor is a dictator and the body isn't aloud to talk about issues in the leadership.
Also the leadership can do whatever they want, and there is nobody to answer to, alot of leaders bully the one under them and cover each other's backs. The congregation is to scared to say anything as others that do have being made an example of, striped from there position or excommunicated.
Multiple people have approached the pastor were he processed to rip into them, tell them to go if you don't like it.I approached him and he ripped into me and gave me the story about korah rebelling against Moses and that I had a perverse spirit.
All the elders are yes men and also the board I've being to the leader that I had an issue with in the music team as she wrote up a rule book for the team and she wasn't living by it, multiple other people have left because of her. She denied everything and ran to the pastor were I got made an example and kicked off the worship team along with multiple others being kicked off that supported me with the same issue .
I went to an elder he gave me the famous script the pastor always says, of humble yourself and in due time God will raise you up. I told him it's not about my position it's about how toxic everything is, the pastor fails to quote the scriptures before the scripture in. 1peter 5, that the elders and shepherd should not lord it over the flock which they are.
Over 50 people have left because of the pastors bad theology and the fruit of it is toxic leadership that keeps getting worse and multiple people leaving.
What can I do in this situation, because with out truth you cannot have love stated in 2,3 John, also says if they don't preach the truth don't have anything to do with them. I've being told to shut up and dont rock the boat which I am ATM but all this bitterness and resentment competing is horrible. If we can get it out and talk about it in truth , than the body won't have unity and no revival.
Do I leave and give such a toxic pastor with bad theology my blessing and get his, what about him being corrected, it says in the word to bring him before the congregation to repent if he doesn't listen, if I tried that the witchcraft will be so string Il be shut down by multiple yes men, do you have any videos on how to deal with a toxic pastor if not it would be awesome if you could brother, bless you and your ministry, I'm at a loss.
    Allen from New Zealand.

I needed this because the Apostle over our church is in another state and he’s been posting about political things and we are on opposite sides. I can’t expect him to hear from God for my church ⛪️ or me if he’s deceived about this. I brought it to my pastor’s attention. I’m expecting my last day to be next Sunday when we have a graduation for a mentorship I co-taught for 6 months. I’m just trying to decide whether to go to my current church today or visit another one.

I left silently. No fanfare, no words, no nothing. I left because I had been called lazy, a liar, told that I could not even get my house in order, accused of being divisive and the pastor had let questionable doctrines creep into his church. I left because the pastor killed any and all desire to serve within a church, whether as a board member or in any other ministry. The pastor quenched the fire that had once burned within my soul. Now all I can do is try to make it from one day to the next. No. Asking permission to leave or asking for the pastor's blessing upon leaving was not an option for me.

I went through this last year. I warned the church that I was contemplating leaving and going back to my baptist roots months before. I wanted to exit gracefully but the ministerial staff hacked me off multiple times They were ignoring me, not listening to what I said, and even acting like they know more about my life history than I do. They ignored my request to step down overtime and transition someone else in to the volunteer roles I was serving. They chose to not meet with me to discuss it.
I felt God was telling me it was time to go not just because of my life and what he had planned for me but because of their plans and the choices that they had made previously, were making, and were going to make.
It was very clear to me that my time there was coming to end before it did and I knew it before the final straw came - not meeting with me to discuss stepping down. I walked away at that point and have never returned.
It is unfortunate because not only did I leave but the relationships were destroyed in the process. My trust was burned completely as a result.
They were also not truthful about a lot of stuff that they were doing and blamed me for stuff that I had nothing to do with or was not my fault. They refused to be honest with me and that hurt a lot.

I did send a withdrawal letter about five months later. They reached out two months after I stopped coming only to invite me back to do stuff but not to discuss the issues that drove me away in first place. They just wanted what I could do for them. They were not interested in anything else. I don’t know for sure, but I imagine that they think I was some lunatic based on how they responded to me. I am attending another church now. That part has been difficult for me, but I have not quit on faith.

Brother don't get discouraged by anything wrong that is going around you. I'm not sure what your situation is, but don't be quick to draw conclusions and make rash decisions. Sometimes, all of that conflict could be a sign that the devil is working to separate something good that God has planned for you. Remember, God is with you. Jesus is for you, and not against you. Keep the faith, dear brother. Walk by faith and not by sight. If we walk by sight, we will become like the Israelites in the wilderness who forgot everything the Lord did for them every time a difficult situation arose. We will see a lack of something (like food and water) and be deceived to think that God has left us when it is not so.
So, trust in God. Don't let difficult circumstances automatically convince you into thinking that it isn't meant to be. That is only one possibility. The devil could be trying to tear apart something good that he doesn't want to happen. But don't assume one or the other and don't lean on your own understanding. Keep seeking the Lord and pray that He gives you wisdom and spiritual understanding to know His will for your life (Colossians 1:9). Jesus WILL lead you if you give the situation to Him and humble yourself before Him. Seek to please God in all things. God is faithful, and when He sees that you are faithful even in the small things, God will definitely move on your behalf with the large things. Keep the faith, AJ! Jesus is with you!

This is an interesting video, but not always easy. I'm at a very loving Church now, and it's like some have said in the comments that you sometimes get Pastors that don't understand, or show pastoral care, or are straight up abusive.
One Church I was at, the Pastor asked me if I was new there, and I mentioned to him that I'd been attending for a year. Even asked him how he was doing one time when I was serving and walked past me to go preach. But we hear 'Come as you are' so much in the Church.
This is good, but I think it comes with seeking God first and someone you trust more so. Unfortunately as I've seen with those in pastoral leadership where they don't have interest with engaging with some people in their congregation.
