Imagine an artist painting a picture but only being given 3 colours to use. Tougher to paint a masterpiece with less colours. Once you view songwriting like this you appreciate it's actually tougher to write a great song with only 3 chords. You have less options than someone using 10 chords.

Any of Oasis' songs that require high notes are done by Noel, often at the same time as Liam during the chorus so it just comes out as one big Gallagher voice of greatness. If you listen carefully to the record there are two voices during the chorus. Sorry to sound like a smart arse but I've just listened to a lot of Oasis!

i reeckon the reason why he has that distinctive voice is becasue of the Beatles song Rain on the past masters album. Listen to the way John holds the notes in the way he sings. Liam is doing exactly that.

by all accounts it pretty much was a disasterous gig. i mean it sounds good here but there was absolutely no swagger, zak was under practised and liam and noel looked like they'd rather be at old trafford than on stage. still, sounds pretty good when you take it a chune at a time.
I hope Liams voice will be much better in 08. To sing the higher voice and hopefully he will be back on his old perfect performance... Oasis Live forever!

The only time I see Gem that couldn't care less :D Glastonbury 2004 must be one of the worst BIG concerts they did, Still few ok performances there and there I guess. There was lots of problems with the band that day. Whitey's departure must've been one.
To be fair, they weren't touring at the time, this was a one off, and Zak had joined like 2 weeks or something before, because Alan White had been sacked. Not a great version, I agree.
