  • V-Ray is an industry-standard photorealistic renderer known for its accurate results and fast raytracing. V-Ray is a very popular plug-in for Rhino but it does have a reputation in some quarters for complexity; however, in this video Simply Rhino senior Rhino trainer and V-Ray expert, Phil Cook, sets out to show how an architectural scene can be created, adjusted and rendered with V-Ray for Rhino in just a few simple steps.
The video shows how V-Ray can create quick pre-built lighting solutions for the model which can then optionally be adjusted and tailored to suit a particular geo-location and time. Phil will also show how elements such as exposure, lighting, reflections and denoising algorithms can be adjusted in the V-Ray frame buffer without having to re-render the scene.
The starting point for this video tutorial is the simple Rhino model that Phil built for our ‘Using Rhino like SketchUp Video’.
Simply Rhino are the most popular Rhino 3D Reseller in the UK, they offer expert Rhino and Grasshopper3D training courses and private, bespoke by the hour training for companies and individuals, alongside unbeatable support for Rhino3D, Grasshopper3D, and key Rhino Plugins, including V-Ray, KeyShot and Twinmotion.

This software gets powerful in years, too much things to learn. Not so simple for first time watchers. Learning consumes much time, duplicate it when your language is different too :) That after rendering adjustments really time saver if you can use is properly. Thanks for video, enjoyed and surprised while watch it.

Hey really great work but do suggest me should I continue with vray for rhinoceros or shift to 3Ds Max since I find there are many functions not available in vray for rhinoceros like slate material editor and no layers state manager object ID etc. (my heart and soul is always in rhinoceros)it’s been 3 year I haven not been able to figure out how to use vray multi sub objects texture and TriPlanar in rhinocero I use it for my interior design viz.

Hi, V-Ray for 3DS Max and Rhino are, of course, different. 3DS Max is geared towards Visualisation and as such may have more of the features you require. Rhino is more geared towards production and manufacture however V-Ray for Rhino does have TriPlanar Mapping and does support Multi Materials. We can provide training on these areas and you can find more details here: simplyrhino.co.uk/training/courses/rhino-private-tailored-training
