    In my workflow, I use Vray for exteriors and Enscape render for interiors. Enscape is quite good for interior renderings plus it's really fast.

      Wait - are you sure Vray & Enscape are communicating? As far as I know, they aren't. SketchUp is working like a middleware, communicating with both -- however, neither rendering solution is communicating with the other.

    With all due respect.. Great video but We need to simplify the rendering process and enscape had managed to do that. 2 programs just seems like a complicated workflow. I hope chaos invests more time to improve enscape rather than put more time into a 2 software workflow

      Thanks for your comment Viswesh! I understand your point of view. The way I see this workflow is more in situations where two different offices/teams work in the same project. I see some advantages when the 3d artist doesn't start from scratch and the design team already has some ideas. But I understand how it can get confusing, hopefully in the coming months Chaos can communicate their ideas on this workflow

      Great video, but in addition to the complexity of the workflow, I would like to add that this workflow needs a pc with very high strength that is rarely available to anyone.
      For this is more practically to use just one program.

After that, the 3D team get 3D file from us and redering by Vray which give us detail photos. This's really make sense when you work in urban planning field.

    I see very little real world scenarios in which this will done in real world projects. either you have a budget for high end render to start from vray or you need a simple solution like enscape. I dont see a complicated case that might require investing in 2 softwares and 2 software teams.
    Maybe the architects use enscape to share walk-arounds and vr but if the flients need a vray realstic render this will go to a pro visualization company that wont bother starting with that enscape model..
    A more logical workflow is just add the vray engine to enscape allowing you to get a hybrid enscape vray render for projects who don't have the budget to outsource to a pro vray team. This will be enscape with just more realistic lighting final render for slightly longer render time with better results all inside enscape. No extra knowledge needed.

    This reminds me of how Autodesk bought Lightscape only to kill it to push 3D Studio Viz (old hand showing). Enscape has its utility and users can work it to its limits, the over-interoperability is, for me, unnecessary. Your mileage varies between apps but best results lie with pursuing a simpler workflow. Speed and seamlessness for all the teams I've worked with was actually helped by moving away from VRay, to Lumion, then Enscape, and now to D5 Render. So much so that there is now a great balance for speed and realism on a shortened workflow whilst spending more time to design.

    From discussions I've had with various people in the forums, I get the feeling there is a reluctance from v-ray to share with enscape and it will likely be a one way deal (enscape to v-ray only), and this is very disappointing. If there is reciprocal sharing then I don't think it will be for a long time so I'll probably end up switching to TM, or maybe D5, as a result.

    Enscape can simply have a Ray Traced Engine built in it to achieve quality results, Enscape for Rhino 7 still haven't fixed material displaying in the Enscape Viewport, first let them fix that then we can get into Photorealism.
    I don't think clients pay extra for photrealism in any studio, If they are paying then we can commit on this.

    • @ShowItBetter
      @ShowItBetter  Рік тому

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I definitely see your point about the importance of Enscape fixing any bugs before implementing more advanced features. Regarding photorealism, it really depends on the client and the project. Some clients may not value it as much, while for others it could be a deciding factor. In any case, it's always good to have the option to create high-quality visuals for those who do value it.

    Do you have to have a decent system to run Vray? Cause I've created some pretty decent scenes with TM but they always never do it justice cause I can only render using integrated graphics with my current system, so no RTX to do ray tracing. Is it the same with Vray?

      With vray you can choose what components of your setup you want to do the heavy work, this can be either full CPU, full GPU, or a mix of both. Personally for this project I only used my CPU to render (and ryzen 7 3800-x)

    Both are great. But in a rigid pipeline Enscape (or any other like D5, twinmotion etc) works far better and faster. Plus: it just makes me angry the time and money spent on chaosgroup softwares that couldn't get any better (accessible most importantly) their products in 15 years.

    • @ShowItBetter
      @ShowItBetter  2 роки тому

      I agree to some extent, Vray is far easier than it was a few years ago! With Chaos Cosmos and progressive rendering, Vray still has some serious advantages over all of its competitors. I consider myself an intermediate Vray user, and with very basic knowledge of the program in less than two days, good images were made.
      That being said, Enscape has the upper hand on speed and usability, the default quality is soo good!

      @@ShowItBetter When Corona came out was a blessing... Then Chaos Group decided to take down the competitor by buyin it... Only after they became a far usable software (less bugs, more functions etc...) more attractive than before. This, for me, was a bit of a harsh develop: by buyin Corona they developed really basic ideas that other software houses had before. They buyed the competitor only because Corona wasn't well prepared to compete but had enormous potential, far better than chaos group :/ So I think they ruined my dreams ahah

    Enscapes Achilles heal much like Lumion is it’s a dead end. Enscape can’t get beyond basic scenes because of how the .GLTF file system works. I suspect its creators of Enscape see that. Try doing a big campus with it. The venture capitalist who invest in these companies initiated the partnership between the two companies to stop Enscapes marketing practices against V-Ray. Enscape took a chunk of the market through over starting its capabilities. Enscape is great for early learners don’t get me wrong, but Chaos gameplay is to absorb this tool as they have already begun to do. Chaos holds 60% market share across Vis and Media and easy button Arcvis complete their ecosystem. I think you should learn all the tools, but realize V-Ray is the industry leading tool and always will be.

    The fact that whatever u use, Vray, Corona or Enscape; they all are now coming from Chaos. Honestly, I dont like a company that spend money to take over its competitors to dominate the market. Look at Vray on 3ds max for years, no improvement, then Corona came out and people moved to this engine because of its simplicity and productivity. Same story on Sketchup, Enscape for Sketchup is powerful too. The fact that Chaos bought those two engines showed how bad they are. Hope that Chaos is still developing Corona as good as it used to be.

  • @NBCNothingButCrap

    I dont get it. Run 2 render engine at the same time will cost your hardware. Imho you can finish your final rendering in either one of the software, no need both simultaneously running. If you want something like most people claimed to be 'accurate' and 'detail'.. just go straight for Vray and you don't need those low poly trees or assets from Enscape anymore. Vray final render ( detail & accurate ) with low poly assets from Enscape? I dont get it. And it sound stupid in term of workflow, money & time alongside with the hardware usage. ( sorry for my words, just to express my thought ).

      For books on famous architectural works and their architects, I would suggest "Form, Space, and Order" by Francis D.K. "Thinking Architecture" by Peter Zumthor is also a great book that explores the creative process behind architectural design.

    I am good in Sketchup and learning V-Ray rending within it, but somehow I feel like others working with 3ds Max +V-Ray is always ahead! I am not sure if it is only about personal skills, or actually the difference between the two software.. Thanks a lot !

      Hey Azad! Good question! From my POV, I have seen masters in arch viz work with 3d max or sketchup. Some can even make better images from Sketchup than 3d max. It's not going to guarantee better renderings one software or the other. What is going to guarantee that is how you handle each tool. On the other hand, if you have really complex projects in terms of geometry modeling and sorts, 3d max would be much better, but this doesnt necessarily improve your 3d renderings.
