Follow this guys It can take 20 seconds or so for youriPhone to turn off, and that's completely normal. Next, hold thepower button until the Apple logo appears on the screen, and then let go. If your iPhone is still stuck on headphones mode after your iPhone turns on, there's a hardware problem with your iPhone

With use this trick you go setting select sound and play any ringtone speaker was work but when you go back to home screen problem is still , so I don't think that's a good trick

Here it is: 1) have someone call you, 2) turn on to speaker mode, 3) turn off the speaker, 4) plug in your headphone, 5) un-plug headphone. This should work! (Actually, I had to do this couple of times before it finally worked for me. So don't give up if it doesn't work the first time). Good luck!

hello fellow iphone users so, basically i had this problem, same exact one i have no idea how (because i dont recall putting my phone near water, but it was just a tiny bit it seemed, ill explain later lmao) but water got in my headphone jack and eventually it just was stuck on headphone mode, no matter what i did it just stayed the same i even like went to every website i could find and try to follow what they were doing, idk a whole lot of stuff tbh later i kinda just gave up considering nothing worked BUT (this was like 2 hours ago that any of this happened btw) i did try a qtip, i just stuck it in there a few times back and forth, wouldnt work i gave up so i left my phone for a brief 20 minutes came back andddd all of a sudden it just randomly got off headphone mode so I’ll definitely tell you, if you have a situation like mine try a qtip, gently go back and forth in the headphone jack about 6 times or so wait up to a few hours, might be like 30 minutes or a few hours until it actually decides to work again anddd it should work, just be patient 😌 oh and when I did first do the qtip thing, the qtip was kinda wet in a way, but it wasn’t that wet. just a tiny bit damp so I knew that there wasn’t a lot of water that went into the jack have a great day/night idk, wherever you are. man just try to stay positive mb for going into detail, i just want you guys to understand fully although, goodnight from gumalicious at 4 in the morning 🤠🤠🤠

My phone had this problem and this qtip trick fixed it! one thing i had to do though with my iphone 6s, was strip away almost all the cotton from the qtip since it wouldnt fit in the jack otherwise

I recently went outside and played in the snow with my phone in my pocket, and it got a tad bit wet. After that the phone was stuck on head phone mode so I tried different methods to fix it but none worked. Until, I decided to put my phone against a fan and let the air dry up the water that was possibly stuck in there and it worked. So a good method to fix your phone if it has gotten wet is to put it against air from a fan. I hope this helps anyone who read this :)

Dropped phone in sink and stuck on headphone mode. Nothing in this video worked for me. This is what fixed it: Made a 25 minute phone call on speaker while earphones were plugged in. After the call the speaker worked again, but the headphones needed to be plugged in. I then was able to watch a 15 minute ytube video. After this I unplugged earphones and all is fixed. Good luck!

To clean out the port on my I-phone 6, instead of the q-tip I used a piece of pegwood (a wooden skewer should work just as well) where I filed a chisel edge to insert into the port. Gently twisting that edged wood cleared out the blockage rather than packing it down tighter.
I went to settings and was playing the ring tone ( while sad because my phone was in headphones mode) and I cleaned out the speaker with a q-tip at the same time and it started working again. I also prayed to God that also works

Wow, this really should be a problem on such a high quality product. Never really heard any other phone having any big problems with it, so it should be a hard thing to make work. This is just laziness and cheapness from Appels side, they could have gone with a more durable headphone jack. Oh well, at least the iPhone 7 won't have this problem
This kind of stuff happens when you screw with your phone, Apple can't stop people from doing stupid stuff to their phones. I get that you don't want the blame on yourself but don't pull the "it's the company's fault" card. That's just a lazy excuse. Btw I'm not even using an iPhone and my headphone jack got messed up. Just fixed it. There was dust inside the headphone jack. Don’t use a Q-tip you just push the dust deeper inside. Use a pin or tooth pick to remove dust.
I fixed my problem by cleaning it with a q tip or a cottonbud,stripped it to size that fits into the jack,and kept cleaning it for 5 minutes or so, i shutdown my iPhone before doing this,so after cleaning,i turned it back on,and to my surprise,it went back to Volume!! This worked for me
Worst part for me is that when i go to change the ringtone in settings, switching volume goes back to Ringer. But it doesn’t stay! So the issue is not necessarily a hardware issue as it does work EDIT-Solution: My problem was due to my speaker dying while it was connected to my phone via Bluetooth. My phone was then stuck on headphone mode. When I recharged the speaker and properly disconnected the phone from it, headphone mode was unstuck!
I got it to work in the end! Turns out that when my phone was connected by Bluetooth to my speaker and when the speaker died, headphone mode was stuck. When I recharged it and reconnected with my phone, I properly disconnected it and the headphone mode wasn’t stuck anymore

What I did that worked: got a q-tip. It was too thick so I ripped some cotton off so it could clean inside the headphone piece thing, I had to do all of this while my phone was off btw! And then I went to settings went to sounds pressed ‘ringtone’ and played a bunch until I could hear it without headphones in Hope this helps!

I FOUND SOMETHING ELSE THAT WORKED!! i tried all of these tricks and they didnt work, so i went onto spotify, and started playing a song through my IMac, then switched it to play on my phone mid-song, and it worked!! hopefully this works for y'all if none of the other things worked
I just figured this out. But if you absolutely can’t get it unstuck, and you can’t get a new phone or replacement, anything that plays sound through the speaker will make it work. Like being on speakerphone with someone on a phone call, or using maps navigation. It plays these sounds through the speakers regardless so you can minimize and open UA-cam etc and all sounds will work again. Just an alternative option for anyone that doesn’t use headphones 24/7
Q-Tip worked thank you! At first I was gentle and it did not work.... then applied some pressure like nothin to loose and then some more pressure all around the hole and dirt started to come out and it worked!

my iPad got in contact with milk rather than water and it doesn't work as the same as water damage :c

I was afraid it was water damage, but it turned out to be a blockage in headphone jack. Easily removed with a q tip don’t be afraid to get in there.

My iPhone got off headphones mode by going to sounds and I started playing all the ringtones sounds while putting the volume up and down I’m so happy now!! Took me almost an hr to find a trick

I used the q tip and it actually worked! I was so scared it was water damage but it wasn’t I haven’t ever been so happy to hear sound on my phone😂
This video really helps me and my cousin because we had dropped our grandmother's iPad in the snow end this really helped us and I got the sound back in now she never knew that we put it in the snow LOL

Going to the ringtones and pressing the volume buttons worked perfectly for me! Fixed it immediately!

Maria :D I went to settings, then sounds and haptics, moved the ringtone volume slider and then pressed the volume up button and it fixed the problem

Edit: it works but whenever i go off settings it goes back to headphone mode

i tried all of these tricks and they didnt work, so i went onto spotify, and started playing a song through my IMac, then switched it to play on my phone mid-song, and it worked!!

I just figured this out. But if you absolutely can’t get it unstuck, and you can’t get a new phone or replacement, anything that plays sound through the speaker will make it work. Like being on speakerphone with someone on a phone call, or using maps navigation. It plays these sounds through the speakers regardless so you can minimize and open UA-cam etc and all sounds will work again. Just an alternative option for anyone that doesn’t use headphones 24/7

Q-Tip worked thank you! At first I was gentle and it did not work.... then applied some pressure like nothin to loose and then some more pressure all around the hole and dirt started to come out and it worked!
I just accidentally dropped mine on the floor. That seemed to do the trick
