Great memories staying up late raiding pushing Atheon, swording Crota, Murmur, Glowhoo, Ice breaker all these moments were so awesome. I'll never forget the day I got Red Death when we killed Crota and did a night fall after and got Gallajjhorn. Awesome memories with friends that are still gaming buddies to this day. You gotta love Destiny. 🔥
Stasis has been needing new supers for a while now Edit: Idea For hunters, the two picks/schythes they throw (Silence and Squall) could be used for a roaming super. Light attack throws them around you and enemies caught in the area get frozen. Heavy attack slams the ground and does shatter damage. Warlock: Casts Ice Daggers, it'll look similar to the Arc super for Warlock. Titan: Slam the ground to create an Ice Sphere that pulses and throws Ice Spears outward.

The idea of being able to temporarily make a new safe zone or completely block of a chokepoint In something like grandmaster is SUPER appealing to me. Also would be the second defensive super but different from ward

Can you imagine SPECIFIC Public events when the raid starts so that evryone can assist the RAID teams? The more you do in the Public Events during the first Raid day helps them?
I definitely dig the episode change, makes it so we can experience the lore and more eventful moments and gameplay within the lore absolutely love this change.

This is only a good marketing video if you've never played Destiny or a single Expansion before this. For a studio so intimated by BG3 this doesn't appear to be the case with the leadership if this is the response.
I just hope that we get to interact with the traveler itself. It is obviously some kind of entity, with its own motives. There must be a conscious behind it.
Wish we could just get 1 new enemy race. Even the taken, which were just variants of existing enemies, added over a dozen new units with unique abilities. For WQ we got 3 enemies, for LF we got 1, plus a new paint-coating for cabal. Looks like we're only getting another tormentor for TFS.

I hear this a lot an it's always is strange to me. There isn't a single game out there that doesn't reuse assets. Just for example look at Elden Ring, Zelda, Baldur's Gate 3. I think there are more important things to complain about with Destiny 2 than this.
100% purely being honest. No new subclass is a huge turnoff for me. People can say that expecting one was just completely unrealistic, and maybe it was, but it feels like Bungie needs to go into overdrive to make up some goodwill and it just feels lame to end “the light and darkness saga”without a full arsenal of both light and dark… I’d have rather had stasis get an overhaul tbh

Since the end game will require a team to beat it, I LOVE the fact they customized the engine that helps players match up better with Guardians they don't know and will be creating a team together. With the customization, I will absolutely try it.
People are so delusional about this “red subclass”. It’s pretty obvious that Strand was our last subclass. What would a 6th subclass offer that the other 5 can’t do already? The game already has the full suite of elemental advances. It would also be front and center in the marketing. It is not.
Red death coming back brought a tear to my eye. It was my first ever exotic to drop in vanilla d1 like day 3 and it is still to this day my favorite exotic, and no crimson doesn’t count.

The thing I want to see in the Final Shape or in subsequent seasons is someone of the vanguard or our ghost telling Cayde about Crow, assuming Crow comes into the portal at all and tells Cayde himself.

same, I feel nothing for The Final Shape after all of this -- Season 23 does look fire though. to be fair to Bungie I dont think they could get me hyped up over anything anymore after the "we dont want to overdeliver" commentary. Guess what? You cant overdeliver if I'm not hyped, so go off.
My only complaint is the lack of a 3rd darkness subclass, i feel like these new supers could have been added down the line with one of the episode packs. As a player whos favorite part of destiny is buildcrafting, it is a huge letdown (still have a small sliver of hope that they actually surprise us and make a new subclass too). Everything else though is just perfect, i get a real COD zombies revelations vibe from the pale heart, its gonna be the coolest destination yet in my opinion. Im going to definitely be balling my eyes out when the vanguard reunites for the first time in the campaign.
I'm holding out judgement until it's here. While it's kinda unlikely the idea that they drop the 3rd subclass after the campaign so that the campaign isn't all about learning the new element would be really nice.
I know this sounds insane, but they are featuring the primary color Red a little too prominently in the background of the marketing material for me to think that its anything but foreshadowing. I cant remember what it was, but something in here in the Final Shape part kind of suggested there is more to come *after* its over -- I can imagine that if The Pale Heart is a truly Linear zone, they maybe dont want to release a Subclass until after the dust settles. @@sirmcdust5572
My only issue with them introducing it here would be that it would be Lightfall 2.0 or Beyond Light 2.0 where they focus too much on the new sub class and not enough on the story itself. I mean Witch Queen was great cuz it had a focused story instead of focusing on a sub class.
Only problem is that we're inside the traveler why would we get a darkness super here? It makes way more sense for us to defeat the witness and take his power for our own to then flesh it out into another dark based subclass across the episodes
I’m happy for the Sunsinger comeback, the iteration of the old Bladedancer Dance, and just a completely new Titan Super. Also the Titan aspect is gonna be one of the best/fun. Whereas the rest of the game…I’m skeptical.
New supers, all good and well. The darkness classes couldve done with a new super each. They feel left behind. Mainly stasis, as it has been out for ages now.
After an entire year of revamping the light subclasses it feels like a slap in the face to just give us more of that. Meanwhile my favorite subclass stasis is just pointless now

I'm underwhelmed. I hope theres more that they're not showing us. The last few expansions have just felt like they were adding things to check off boxes and nothing more. Destination, campaign, activity, public events, raid. Nothing more, nothing less. Its formulaic. Hoping this one feels different when we can actually play it.
For the LONGEST time I wanted a Void Titan ability to have a mobile shield, but thought they’d do a melee ability for it. Either works cuz that just looks cool.

I’d have to disagree, I think it takes a lot of the fun and aspiration out of Destiny. They want you to be able to take your brand new friends right from New Light into a raid. “Aspirational content” should be just that, not something you can join your friends for in all white/green gear

Not that I'm not happy Titans are finally getting an axe, but I find it really hard to get exited given that there isn't a new darkness subclass. That should've been a priority. Bungie need to do a lot to buy more of my time, but this, unfortunately, is not enough.
Every time we get a new subclass, the dedicate like half of the expansion to pointless tutorials for it and the story sucks. Beyond Light and Lightfall are proof of that.

I don’t even think a new faction was needed, when you think about it we lost scorn almost entirely when they removed the forgotten shore, there’s hardly anywhere you find them now outside the dreaming city patrol. With presage coming back we will see a activity with them again.
I quit years ago and heard Destiny is coming to the final shape so I came back to and watched some videos like this one to catch back up and let me say, fundamentally this game has not changed in the time I've been gone. Absolutely massive untapped potential that gamers and creators see and try to make bungie reach for but they just won't do it. Same luke warm DLC's with no real substance, subclasses and supers that aren't fleshed out just simple add ons, nothing really over the top or going above and beyond. Bungie is still happy to keep this game average when it could be the best thing out there. Really sad to see I thought the game, developer, and fanbase would have evolved by now. Same enemies. Same Problems. Same Destiny.
And for reference I had over 5000 hours in D2 and even more if you include D1. No disrespect to anyone enjoying the game cause thats you're right and you should! But man I feel so disappointed and sad for people who stuck all the way through.

@@leroyrodgers6089 it would make the new light so much better and most people have played through shadowkeep. Plus it was a fairly descent expansion with a lot of gameplay. Plus having an actual campaign would help the FTP players get into the game more. Plus the mission to get xenophage is a lot of fun

Love the game but Bungie have lost the magic. Minimal resources, lazy development and seemingly no governance. I’ll be playing Starfield, if Bungie turn things around I might be back.

@@samphillips141 titans such as myself just want more diverse supers. Alot of them are roaming punch supers. TCrash and Bubble are the only ones that arent so its nice to have a ranged damage super option for a class like Sentinal.

New enemies have to be relevant to the L & D saga.... can't just have new entire species out of left field that no-one has ever heard of before, or that the Lore makes no mention of.

SIVA is impossible to be implemented into D2 story-wise. If Wrath does get added, it'll be way later on. I had kept my expectations low and I don't make any demands, that's the best way to get disappointed.
Am I the only one who thinks the bungie devs dedicated to the hunters in game having been watching to much Naruto to the point of giving there class our 4th hokage’s ninjutsu to have in game! I’m so jealous and excited to try it out.
Timeline Reflections only being spins missions that are already in the game is massively missed potential. Could have been a perfect way to let people play bits of the vaulted Y1 campaigns.

@Wormy_fren honestly wouldn't surprise me. I'd totally see Bungie power creep so high for it being the end of the saga. My guess is that all three of the supers receive strong nerfs a few weeks in.
I am still extremely skeptical on how to feel with Bungie at this time, because they have thrown us into loops from time and time again with Destiny, and I am not ready to give them the credit where it's due just yet. They will show us a brief window of hope, to take it away again. This is a pattern with this company.
True. I'll wait for two or so weeks before and see if the expansion is even worth buying. But I'm not expecting this to even top The Witch Queen, and even that expansion is below the depth (yet higher in price) than that of Forsaken and The Taken King.
I've seen the leaks already. Doesn't seem too great. More of a nostalgia trip. I think I'll keep my 100 dollars. I think the community hasn't fully accepted that Bungie has shifted their focus away from Destiny now. We are now just cash cows in the corporation Bungie has built. Are there still people who love Destiny still working on the game? Of course! But the resources Bungie has are not being focused on Destiny anymore. I'd rather play another game like FF14 or WoW that gives me incentive to play the game repeatedly.

New Warlock super is a callback to radiance. New Titan super is a callback to Fist of Havoc and og Hammer of Sol. New Hunter super is straight up an homage to how oppressive Arcblade Hunters were.
Will be interesting to see how making Eris a hive god (pretty much) plays out especially when Elsie Finds out, as its basically the dark future she has been trying to change, Evil Eris the hive god raises an army of dark guardians and does bad bad things :P

Wish we could just get 1 new enemy race. Even the taken, which were just variants of existing enemies, added over a dozen new units with unique abilities. For WQ we got 3 enemies, for LF we got 1, plus a new paint-coating for cabal. Looks like we're only getting another tormentor for TFS.

I hear this a lot an it's always is strange to me. There isn't a single game out there that doesn't reuse assets. Just for example look at Elden Ring, Zelda, Baldur's Gate 3. I think there are more important things to complain about with Destiny 2 than this.

100% purely being honest. No new subclass is a huge turnoff for me. People can say that expecting one was just completely unrealistic, and maybe it was, but it feels like Bungie needs to go into overdrive to make up some goodwill and it just feels lame to end “the light and darkness saga”without a full arsenal of both light and dark… I’d have rather had stasis get an overhaul tbh

Since the end game will require a team to beat it, I LOVE the fact they customized the engine that helps players match up better with Guardians they don't know and will be creating a team together. With the customization, I will absolutely try it.
I hope we still get that red subclass. New supers and aspects for strand and stasis wouldn't hurt.

My only complaint is the lack of a 3rd darkness subclass, i feel like these new supers could have been added down the line with one of the episode packs. As a player whos favorite part of destiny is buildcrafting, it is a huge letdown (still have a small sliver of hope that they actually surprise us and make a new subclass too). Everything else though is just perfect, i get a real COD zombies revelations vibe from the pale heart, its gonna be the coolest destination yet in my opinion. Im going to definitely be balling my eyes out when the vanguard reunites for the first time in the campaign.

I'm holding out judgement until it's here. While it's kinda unlikely the idea that they drop the 3rd subclass after the campaign so that the campaign isn't all about learning the new element would be really nice.
I know this sounds insane, but they are featuring the primary color Red a little too prominently in the background of the marketing material for me to think that its anything but foreshadowing. I cant remember what it was, but something in here in the Final Shape part kind of suggested there is more to come *after* its over -- I can imagine that if The Pale Heart is a truly Linear zone, they maybe dont want to release a Subclass until after the dust settles. @@sirmcdust5572
My only issue with them introducing it here would be that it would be Lightfall 2.0 or Beyond Light 2.0 where they focus too much on the new sub class and not enough on the story itself. I mean Witch Queen was great cuz it had a focused story instead of focusing on a sub class.
Only problem is that we're inside the traveler why would we get a darkness super here? It makes way more sense for us to defeat the witness and take his power for our own to then flesh it out into another dark based subclass across the episodes

I’m happy for the Sunsinger comeback, the iteration of the old Bladedancer Dance, and just a completely new Titan Super. Also the Titan aspect is gonna be one of the best/fun.

I'm underwhelmed. I hope theres more that they're not showing us. The last few expansions have just felt like they were adding things to check off boxes and nothing more. Destination, campaign, activity, public events, raid. Nothing more, nothing less. Its formulaic. Hoping this one feels different when we can actually play it.

I don’t even think a new faction was needed, when you think about it we lost scorn almost entirely when they removed the forgotten shore, there’s hardly anywhere you find them now outside the dreaming city patrol. With presage coming back we will see a activity with them again.

I quit years ago and heard Destiny is coming to the final shape so I came back to and watched some videos like this one to catch back up and let me say, fundamentally this game has not changed in the time I've been gone. Absolutely massive untapped potential that gamers and creators see and try to make bungie reach for but they just won't do it. Same luke warm DLC's with no real substance, subclasses and supers that aren't fleshed out just simple add ons, nothing really over the top or going above and beyond. Bungie is still happy to keep this game average when it could be the best thing out there. Really sad to see I thought the game, developer, and fanbase would have evolved by now. Same enemies. Same Problems. Same Destiny.

Love the game but Bungie have lost the magic. Minimal resources, lazy development and seemingly no governance. I’ll be playing Starfield, if Bungie turn things around I might be back.

glad to see they're pulling out all the stops for arguably their most important expansion. No subclass and a whole 3 supers and aspects with the darkness subclasses getting nothing...hardly setting my world on fire.
I think no new sub-class was a good call, considering the story focus in beyond light and lightfall.
You do realize If they do all that, then the story is gonna be shit. Unfortunately with bungie you either get a new subclass and a terrible story or you get no new subclass and maybe a good story.

As a warlock, we got shafted. Used to main sunsinger and even I have no excitement for it, well of radiance + sunbracers blows it out of the water. Was really hoping for a red darkness subclass.

One new enemy type doesn’t help with the staleness of the enemies.
New enemies have to be relevant to the L & D saga.... can't just have new entire species out of left field that no-one has ever heard of before, or that the Lore makes no mention of.

They’re not a random new enemy race that appeared out of thin air without lore reasons and even then they weren’t exactly new, they’re just dead fallen that are mutated . It was established long ago that the taken were the witnesses main army, not really sure why you’d expect a new race at this point

SIVA is impossible to be implemented into D2 story-wise. If Wrath does get added, it'll be way later on. I had kept my expectations low and I don't make any demands, that's the best way to get disappointed.

I am still extremely skeptical on how to feel with Bungie at this time, because they have thrown us into loops from time and time again with Destiny, and I am not ready to give them the credit where it's due just yet. They will show us a brief window of hope, to take it away again. This is a pattern with this company.
New dlc is 84 pounds... I'm already dubious, considering that a lot of the stuff they trotted out is old stuff with a slight new lick of paint.
True. I'll wait for two or so weeks before and see if the expansion is even worth buying. But I'm not expecting this to even top The Witch Queen, and even that expansion is below the depth (yet higher in price) than that of Forsaken and The Taken King.
I've seen the leaks already. Doesn't seem too great. More of a nostalgia trip. I think I'll keep my 100 dollars. I think the community hasn't fully accepted that Bungie has shifted their focus away from Destiny now. We are now just cash cows in the corporation Bungie has built. Are there still people who love Destiny still working on the game? Of course! But the resources Bungie has are not being focused on Destiny anymore. I'd rather play another game like FF14 or WoW that gives me incentive to play the game repeatedly.
