Great video! Just curious: at the 40sec mark you can be seen wearing a camera holder pack on your hipbelt. What pack is that exactly? I bike and ski with a large chest pack that is pretty bulky and cumbersome. I'm looking for a better option. I have a Sony mirrorless camera which I typically carry with a 70-200 lens. Curious if the bag you use might be a good option? Many thanks!
It’s the Moment Alex Strohl backpack! It’s basically a hiking backpack with a camera cube insert at the bottom. The hip pack is by them too, but I’ve found I prefer to just use a quick release system instead. The bag would easily fit a 70-200 lens, probably a 24-70 and the body inside the camera insert. If you have the hip pouch as well (I brought my Blackmagic and a Sony a7rii) you can carry several bodies with you easily!
A big step up from black tusk imo! Between the possible glacier travel, distance and remoteness and route finding I’d say this is on a similar level to Robie Reid in difficulty. Less scrambling but more elevation gain!
@@brookmc5076 Hmm. Hard to compare. The scrambling in the Black Tusk chimney is easy, but loose. The scrambling to the main summit of Castle Towers was more solid, but I'd say it was harder. Maybe a bit harder than the West Lion scramble, mostly from the routefinding.
Very Detail Video! Thank you for sharing with us!
Thanks! Hope the information helps
Hey man, 100% sure we passed you on the way down. Was good seeing you up there!
Hey, say hi if you see me again! Did we meet near the summit or somewhere else?
Love your hikes and with you describing the details really adds to the video, look forward to the next one!
Excellent work and beautiful videography as always - enjoyed the commentary and stats at the end.
Thanks! I’ll probably be doing stats for most of the new videos I make
I like how you totally ignored that marmot.
Didn't want to interrupt his sunbathing
your videos are seriously the best
agree
100%
Beautiful!!
Thank you!
Bucket list hike unlocked 😮
It’s pretty good! One of my favourite hikes in the Garibaldi area
Buddyyyyy... this is absolutely insane!! Would you ever attempt Opal Cone to Garbaldi Lake?
Maybe, would have to suss out the route first. I’m more interested in Mt garabaldi before the ski resort gets built on it!
Met you at the parking lot on your way in and been waiting for this! Amazing shots and very informative Brandon
Yeah I took a while to edit this one, hope the info's useful!
@@BCHiking incredibly heplful planning my next trip 😁
Sick video!
Thanks Patrick haha
lastly was the bugaboos the best view youve seen
Haha it’s definitely up there. Probably the best quality climbing though!
Been waiting for this one!
Thanks for waiting, I'll be quicker with the next upload
Shit wondering where you've been dude...hope all is well🙌
All’s good! Been busy but found some time to edit recently
wow that timelapse of black tusk! also, thanks for the education on the wilderness permit.
The wilderness permit is pretty useful if you're willing to wild camp! Helm is usually full every weekend so it's good to have other options
I love your channel. Do you still use Alltrails for your GPS coordination?
Yes I do, though it’s been a bit unreliable lately so I’m thinking of switching
Wow, that was really great! Love the addition of the commentary, super helpful!
Glad you found it helpful!
best in the game
Did this with the BC Mountaineering Club. We camped in Gentian Pass and climbed the next day and then out to the Rubble Creek trailhead.
Nice, Gentian pass is a beautiful place to camp

That is heaven
Felt a little hellish on the boulder fields below the summit haha
@@BCHiking yeah I can imagine, how long are you hiking on boulders for?
@@ethanderksen5131 Only about an hour and a half. The short scramble at the end makes up for it though!
Appreciate you taking bro 👏🏻
Thanks! Hope the info helps
what are you using to filter your water
could you please make a video on what your bag carries along with the weight and volume?
Kathadyn Befree water filter, and yeah maybe I’ll release a video going over my gear. Maybe at 1000 subs?
Sweet ascent and video man!
Thanks! Some pretty gorgeous scenery on this one
I have done black tusk scramble to its false summit, is this scarier? thank you
About double the length, and maybe double the difficulty in scrambling? Not an easy one that’s for sure
@@BCHiking oh geez, really??

@@BCHiking ok but specifically the scrambling from west summit to the main one how difficult is that compared to say the black tusk chimney?
