I moved yo Havasu when there was less than 500 people living there. Back when Havasu was really cool. After they bought that stupid bridge it has sucked for me ever since. London this and London that made me sick to my stomach. And now there are 55 thousand yahoos living there and the roads are still so tiny and traffic is impossible. I don't go back at all and at one time I loved Havasu. Not anymore.
@ news flash Milt, there’s well over a hundred thousand yahoos living there and everything is HavaThis and HavaThat 🤮 you would hate it even more 😂 I moved to Oregon…Havasu is turning into California
I went out to the water park back in 2017 and shot a few videos. At that time 2 buildings had been burned down and many palm trees had been cut down and left on the concrete. I am considering making another trip out there to the park and maybe even swinging into Ransburg.
I remember stopping for gas at the Hi-Low gas station in the late 70s. It was a cold snowy night. I was also in the restaurant when two frozen men walked in. The were riding a motorcycle. One of them said they wouldn't have made it to Baker they were so cold. I-15 was later closed by CHP.
Desert center is used as a meet and turn spot for several different trucking companies. Used to be a pay phone in the post office to call into dispatch.

I've lived here 22yrs and the wind destroys/reclaims everything given time but I have never seen that area unless it's the Mojave river which is what it looks like. The sand is continuously on the move with Harvard rd being buried by drifts with graders working frequently to keep it clear.
That Three Kids Mine place looks crazy. I've never even heard of that place before but it looks like a great place to visit. I love all the colors. One of these days I'll get out to the western parts of the US.
Funny thing is, three kids mine will soon be replaced with new luxury homes! They have plans for development there. Glad I was able to visit before they started tearing it up. Thanks for watching.....hope you can make it out here one day!
Whenever I drive in remote desert areas in California I always wonder what brought people to a location and what happened to make them leave? Military, mining, the desire to be s hermit.
When you see vids of those massive old houses in Georgia or Tennessee, you wonder who lived in them when they were in their glory. The families and how they lived their lives, without TV or cars, washing machines or fridges and how they kept entertained.
Another awesome video where we get to see some great views from your drone. How cool is that? Many of those places along I-15 and I-40 are part of the area I cover for my job. This includes from Barstow to Needles and Barstow to Primm. I have spent the last 35 years driving both routes every week and have always imagined what life was like when US66 and US91 were the primary routes. Interstates certainly made it easier to cut through the desert, but it did wipe out some mom and pop cafes and garages.
Interstate 40 didn't bypass Ludlow. I-40 is in your video, running right by Ludlow.?? Maybe you were thinking of Amboy? Either way, still a cool video.
Route 66 went through Ludlow. I-40 bypassed Ludlow, meaning you had to exit I-40 to access Ludlow. People traveling at freeway speeds didn't bother to make the stop anymore and business declined.
9:09 The C-54 missing its tail and left outer wing has an interesting backstory: Over two weeks in the winter of 1944, students at Maine Township High School, Park Ridge, IL, raised over $550,000 to buy War Bonds, and as a reward, this plane was named after the school, with the inscription _"Faster and Higher - That's Maine's Flyer"_ . The plane saw service in the last months of the war as a hospital transport. 75 years later in 2019, Len Johnson of the Park Ridge Historical Society was given permission to salvage parts from the plane's cockpit and returned them to Illinois to create a display for the Society's museum. He even repainted the slogan on the plane's nose - but that's now apparently graffitied over again.
My pleasure! The long drawn out intros annoy the heck out of me. People know what they clicked on, so the way I see it, why not get right to the point. Thanks for watching 👍
California's geography is amazing. I wouldn't even know there were desert places like this if I didn't drive through the Mojave many decades ago. I now live in the lush Bay Area full of Redwoods and bodies of water. Mountains, deserts, trees, lakes, bays, rivers, Ca. has it all.
its places like this that i want to camp and get a feel of the land. went to mare island and that was dope. lot of abandoned buildings and bunkers. and bee hives too
@4:00. I was just thinking many of those abandoned sites could be re-purposed for filming shoots, at fairly low cost to a production company. Of course, too remote and there are increased costs of housing the cast and crew, managing the equipment, and of course Craft Services. Things to consider.
My neighborhood. I was the Hermit of Halloran Summit for seven years. I was also the last clerk at the Hawaiian Hotel. I've spent more than one night in Desert Center. I also spent a week at the Ludlow Hotel. Are you stalking me?
Cool. That's why I like to read the comments section. Sometimes you can assemble pieces of interesting information, like a collective puzzle laying around. I had no idea of that movie, seems worth watching. Thank you.
@jessiesdroneadventures7464 Indeed, one of my sources is a UA-cam channel called "Minty's Comedic Arts" ,he did a segment called " 10 things you didn't know about Cherry 2000", he is very informative about movies. And, of course IMDB. Be safe.
I travel to Vegas often. Stopped and checked out the the Royal Hawaiian about a year ago. Now there is a complete fence blocking it off. It has fire damage too. I'm guessing they will level everything eventually. Baker is still a popular stop to get gas, etc so they could put something useful in that spot.
Three Kids Mine is coming back as a 5000-home community. Henderson NV in December approved plans for the subdivision. Developer has to clean up the site first.
Is that the same place where hector is gonna be running 3 honda Civics with spoon engines? Heard he recently went into Harry's and ordered 3 T66 turbos with NOS, and a Motec system exhaust
I went on a walk about with a rental car in 1991 and stayed at the Royal Hawaiian Motel In Baker California... I holed up there for about 2 weeks well I did art projects in the big dried up Lake nearby. My neighbor's in the hotel were really kind of sketchy too, lol.
Funny forget to add Keeler, CA. It's classified as a ghost town, but they still have a post office, and a couple of good folks living there. Post office looks new, but the rest of the town is completely run down.
Desert Center. I remembered my brother and i stopped by for Lake Tamerisk when he took me there the first time almost 8 years ago. Crazy it's on this list. We usually stopped by for a rest to Blythe from now on.
I remember Lake Doloris and the old gas station. Went to both around 1978 when i was about 13. Possibly the first water park? The gas station sold Las Vegas trinkets. I bought some bumpwer stickers and a giant "joke " cigar. It was tobacco. I have a photograph smoking it as a kid
I remember seeing a story on another video recently about a guy who went into the Royal Hawaiian late one night and got chased out by a tweeker. The story sounded like a zombie encounter...
Right! It kind of reminds me of that scene in "The Mummy" at the end when Benny sets off that trap and the walls start coming down and sand starts pouring in......what a way to go!
i used to get out to see these places a lot when I drove a tow truck for Triple-A. I especially remember Desert Center 'cause I ran out of gas there and had to steal fuel from the vehicle I was towing. I think I remember an airport out there too. Mebbee.
Newberry Springs, Desert Center contain abandoned structures, yet remain legit residential communities. Trona should have made the list. Has a cozy, well-maintained neighborhood, but is otherwise a spooky ghost town.
Funny, I lived in Eagle Mountain in the mid 70's, went to school there and worked at the one and only market, while my father worked at the Kaiser Steel mine. From the drone footage, I can still see my friend's house still standing on the main road going out. The place reminds me of a Twilight Zone movie in a reality show setting. Desert center was our main fuel stop before we would go to and from Orange County. Lake Tamarisk is all that is left when I stopped in 2007' We used to go to Lake Dalores in the early eighties as well. Due to injuries from the dilapidating water-park structures and fights caused by drunken idiots, we always had to sign a disclaimer just to enter the park. Good times!
Ludlow is kind of successful. It became a popular truck stop and ludlow cafe is really nice. It’s more of a truck stop town than a ghost town and it will thrive due to trucking industry
@@jessiesdroneadventures7464 I'm looking for some places to take my lidar so I can scan walls to use in my video game projects, do you know any good websites that document abandon places that I could sort through by state?
#1 When I was teen, Kaiser discovered they could buy electricity at wholesale prices and sell it back to the grid, at a profit. So they shut down their ops and jobs in Longview WA.

California: "Please help! We have a homeless crisis!"
Also California: Rows of abandoned houses nobody is allowed to occupy or fix up.
There are no grocery stores or gas stations nearby. No doctor.
Excellent content !❤
Hey thanks a million! I got some more abadoned building videos coming in the future!
My parents use to drive on route 66 when we go to visit my grandparents in the mid west. More than likely we passed Ludlow, CA since we lived in CA.
Thank you for sharing 👍
The water park has been used for some filming and for some airsoft events.
I've read that too!
What about Amboy, CA on Hwy 40? Not far from 29 Palms.
That one will be in a future abandoned series 👍
Desert Center looks like a location they used in the movie Romeo is Bleeding? Am I right?
Never seen it
I love these videos about abandoned towns. Great job
Thank you!
Three Kids Mine is coming back as a 5000-home community. Henderson NV in December approved plans for the subdivision. Developer has to clean up the site first.
Yea I recently saw that on Fox5 Las Vegas, would be cool to do a before and after video later on in the future
Is there any good loot in eagle mountain ?
Not anymore.....all the skinwalkers got it

Figures
5:35 #6 Desert Center, CA
Just in case anybody’s interested, there’s a road course “Race Track” there called Chuckwalla Valley Raceway.
Love reading these kinds of stores! thanks for sharing!
I ❤❤❤❤ how you just get to the point-no fluff.
Thank you! I strive to get right to the content without the long boring intro that most people skip through anyway haha, thanks for watching!
I saw somewhere that the Kaiser Mine property was sold lately. Maybe they are going to reopen the mine?
I remember most of these places, as i grew up in Redondo Beach, in LA county. Made many trips to las vegas.
Hey thanks for sharing! 👍
We used to stop in Desert Center and tank up and take Rice road to Parker Az. Very dangerous route especially when you’re partying the whole time.
lol 🍻
This is some good knowledge, thanks
Hey no problem! Glad it was helpful!
I like this video I'm subscribing... I like the way u keep it ReaL!! 💯 🎯 🔥🤘🏽👊🏽
Hey thanks man!!! appreciate it!
I remember Lake Doloris and the old gas station. Went to both around 1978 when i was about 13. Possibly the first water park? The gas station sold Las Vegas trinkets. I bought some bumpwer stickers and a giant "joke " cigar. It was tobacco. I have a photograph smoking it as a kid
lol loved reading your story. Thank you for sharing!
Someone should be salvaging and selling all the lumber and other building material in these places instead of letting it just go to waste..
Atv8:40 I believe the white car on the right was from the movie cherry 2000.
I remember seeing a story on another video recently about a guy who went into the Royal Hawaiian late one night and got chased out by a tweeker. The story sounded like a zombie encounter...
I believe it, that sounds like the exact thing that would happen at the royal Hawaiian
Do any of these places have access to water, other than ground water?
some do
That sucks, the sand literally devouring your home.
Right! It kind of reminds me of that scene in "The Mummy" at the end when Benny sets off that trap and the walls start coming down and sand starts pouring in......what a way to go!
And it's the govt fault.
@thig2148 it's always da gubment!!!
i used to get out to see these places a lot when I drove a tow truck for Triple-A. I especially remember Desert Center 'cause I ran out of gas there and had to steal fuel from the vehicle I was towing. I think I remember an airport out there too. Mebbee.
thank you for sharing!
Newberry Springs, Desert Center contain abandoned structures, yet remain legit residential communities. Trona should have made the list. Has a cozy, well-maintained neighborhood, but is otherwise a spooky ghost town.
Trona will be on there in the future!
The water park would be a great Tony Hawk or Dave Mirra BMX map
heck yea it would! I always thought it could be featured in a Tony Hawks Pro Skater game!............." Pretending I'm a super man!
I might be wrong but didn't call of duty make a mulitplayer map of the hi-lo gas station?
They might have. It sure looks like it could have been a map on multiplier to me!
Very cool 😎
Thank you 🙏 glad you enjoyed the video!
@@jessiesdroneadventures7464 🙂
U.S. Top Gear filmed one of their challenges at the abandoned waterpark. S.5, E.7, What Can it Take.
didnt know that!. will have to check it out
Funny, I lived in Eagle Mountain in the mid 70's, went to school there and worked at the one and only market, while my father worked at the Kaiser Steel mine.
From the drone footage, I can still see my friend's house still standing on the main road going out.
The place reminds me of a Twilight Zone movie in a reality show setting.
Desert center was our main fuel stop before we would go to and from Orange County. Lake Tamarisk is all that is left when I stopped in 2007'
We used to go to Lake Dalores in the early eighties as well. Due to injuries from the dilapidating water-park structures and fights caused by drunken idiots, we always had to sign a disclaimer just to enter the park.
Good times!
Thank you for sharing! I enjoyed reading your story 👍
Ludlow is kind of successful. It became a popular truck stop and ludlow cafe is really nice. It’s more of a truck stop town than a ghost town and it will thrive due to trucking industry
Damned cool Video!
Hey thank you!! Glad you enjoyed it!!
Most of these old buildings are falling apart not because of nature, they just get vandalized by people.
amen to that!......people suck sometime!
1:08 It’s like Radiator Springs in the movie Cars
A lot of these places are in GTA5. Located outside of Los Santos. Just a lil tip for fellow gamers such as myself.
Haha, heck yea!
There used to be a house near the RV, but the house burned down
We used to go camping out there off of Rice road and Ludlow loved it thanks Mom and Dad
Hey thank you for sharing
This is exactly where California should dump all the homeless
Oh geez lol
Or your front yard.
@ratfinkie62 they did lol 😂
Awesome, thanks. BTW: Hila => Gila. :)
Hey no problem! Glad you enjoyed the video! 👍
Ludlow sounds like the real-world basis for the fictional town of Radiator Springs, from the movie "Cars".
Another heads up: three kids mine is also not in California. It's in or near Henderson Nevada east of Las Vegas.
The algorithm finally pushed your video🎉🎉🎉🎉
Its gonna be on a roll!!
@jessiesdroneadventures7464 I would always have to manually look up your videos 🥲
I highly recommend you VISIT these ruined abandoned places they are fascinating!
Heck yeah they are!!
When you said “kinda like our president” I paused the video just to see who was in office when you made this video from 9 days ago 😂
Edit 7:54 is that a 4dr Acura integra? I’ve always wanted one maybe I’ll go and get it if it’s still there.
lol.........you could probably go claim it and no one would even notice
I gave this video a thumbs up specifically because of him saying this.
I was going to subscribe to his channel but I see no reason in encouraging a Retrumplican
Lol, thank you!
🤦♂️
Pretty cool alien blaster. I'm gonna guess your a fallout fan too lol
Haha, not as big a fallout fan as I am COD.....but I rock it with it!
Ludlow has been in a few sci'fis. Bugs, I think.
