Imagine a guy who is newbie buying one of these because he wants to join a group of friends who are into the hobby. Even though his friends have some serious customized high dollar rigs. I think he's going to have a lot of fun!
Yes, and probably embarrass some of the more expensive rigs 😅
Hi Tomley, from Wiltshire. I just had a light bulb moment about your style and type of rc, that you run . And what the other person , no name , but starts with a k. He is all fast and bash no matter what . And you are chilled running through the mud , with lower cost rc, cars. That is why I have come over to crawlers. Because of you I have got into small scale crawlers , and have started to build 1:24 LCG. from parts only ( ebay ). Anyway still dont drink coffee lol . Have fun playing in the mud ! .
Thanks mate. I’m doing an LCG 1/24 soon as well. 👌
If you're going to go through mud and water like that perhaps plain and simple is a good way to go. There is an argument engineering wise for metal bearing bushes in a lot of applications. No catastrophic failures for one. Great vid as always.
Yes, easy to maintain. I washed it down, dried it and sprayed a bit of lube on the moving parts. Tools the bead lock wheels apart and dried the foams. About an hrs work but will keep this going for a while
Crawler Canyon has been working on his SE that he calls "baseline" and he used the spacious front between the rails as a way to mount a small battery directly onto the steering servo Battery on Servo on Axle (BoSoA because funny acronyms are funny) and it seems to have done him really well. Not only does it bring the weight forward, but it makes the battery weight become unsprung!
Nice! I’ll have to check it out
Looks lovely. Element do some really good stuff.
FYI, regarding the plastic links: scuffed-up plastic slides over rocks much easier than scuffed-up metal. So, it should hang-up less.
Oh okay… I think I was going to extreme and imagining big chunks of plastic missing from them 😅
@@TomleyRC Don't worry. Remember the Gmade GS02? They have plastic links and they work very well.
You do a really really great job on your reviews. Thank you!
Thanks J P
Simplicity often bring efficiency. Like the Axial base camp this new low price is super capable out of the box. Very pleasant video. Thank you and Happy New RCs Year.
Thank you… and yes.. simple is sometimes better
Element is just the Crawling branding of Team Associated, which are by far some of the best in the industry. This line of crawlers are awesome and bombproof. Another good budget option (at least in North America) is RedCat. The Gen 7 Pro is still a beast. It's an Axial clone that's really well built and super cheap.
I love anything that team associated had a hand in. So smooth
Agree 👌
No joke I think element RTR's have incredible uphill climbing balance. I was really impressed with how steep the knight runner could climb
Yes, I love the Knight Runner
Fantastic review as always, Phil! 😃
Pretty capable truck indeed! It could be a fantastic starting point!
But you know what would be interesting? To see how you mod and improve it! 😃
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
this brand is getting better and better❤
This is another excellent review. It performs very well and seems to be well designed The video at the end showing going through the mud really shows off the tires.
Love playing in the mud 👌
@@TomleyRC I agree. The only negative is cleaning up afterwards.
Thanks Phil. Element does a great job with their chassis and suspension geometry. I'm not surprised this one is a good crawler. As always I appreciate your content.
Awesome video! I purchased an Sendero SE for myself for Christmas and love it. currently building a interior for it.
Nice! I think I’m gonna get a molded grill for this and maybe some LEDs
Another awesome review Phil that would be a great starting rig for anyone interested in crawling with potential for cool upgrades, top work as always 👍🏻
Yes, nothing to complicated here… just charge a battery an off you go
Wow it looks good and the box is pretty neat
I am definitely considering this as a basher crawler the links are cheap and easy to change, probably have a set in the spares bin, the bushings make life easier as long as you have marine grease in the axle to protect the diffs water. But I think the bushes in the gear box will need upgrading to bearings. I’m surprised that it’s an entry level rig that’s on so many veteran crawler shopping lists. The bed looks “sunk” lower than most, which is also a nice result.
Basher Crawler… perfect 👌
I have this Rc truck it is definitely worth it
Cool loving this. If I was just getting my first crawler would give this a look for sure!
Certainly is to consider 👌
Definitely a capable bit of kit . A nice starting point to do upgrades that you personally want 👍 . And it's good to see Allen
allen? you mean STEVE?? lol.....
Alan….
Alan…
Al….
Alan…
Love my Element. I have the IFS one and thought it would be a bit lacking in functionality but it is soooo capable!!
The IFS is so good.. I had the trail runner and that impressed me, and now have the knight runner and that really impresses me to. Pick the right lines and they will keep up with a solid axles crawler all day
That mst disco one looks sick, the defender 110 and discovery 2 are my 2 favourite 4x4s of all time... i need one
Team Associated are really under-rated . I have a 14b buggy & a Trophy Rat & they're both so cool & the best handling of any of my fleet. This looks like another solid TA entry. As for the name of the small tree, it would be a 'shwubbery'; thank Monty Python for that one :)
Oh yes… shwubbery, I should have know really 😅
keep up the content tomley absolutly love it from australia
Thanks mate
Great video as always! That rig is definitely a huge departure from the Sendero Builder's Kit that I used for my 2021 Bronco build. The battery and servo placement are totally different. Looks like a great starting point for future upgrades though!
It’s certainly got potential
@@TomleyRC Looks like it!
seen this on a few channels and it seems a good rig, the oil bushes in the axles are a pretty decent option, my old carisma ford F-150 has them and still good several years on, my only gripe i would of liked light buckets up front
Man this looks awesome I think I might consider this one as my first crawler
It’s certainly not gonna let you down. And you can upgrade as you go
I love the body, looks clean! Excellent review, Sir Phil the III.
Yes, sometimes clean and simple is the way to go 👌
I’d prefer this over the Axial Basecamp mainly due to the forward motor mount. I’m not a fan of center mounted motors at all. Stainless links on Amazon are inexpensive as are bearings. For $300 this is a good deal. Yes there are less expensive options from Bangood, but at least in the US there’s not really anything with better parts support for this price other than maybe a Redcat Gen8
Yes, cheaper and way better looking than the Basecamp
I too am in favor of the Gen8 (mainly because I own one) and also because it comes with an International body. I don't think any other company has trail trucks with International bodies. It may also have to due to the fact the purple color they use is very nice.
I love Element RC, I own 3 of their trucks so far. Imo they offer the best bang for the buck in the market.
Also that Reedy motor is really good for a budget rtr, swap the esc out for a 1080 and it's even more awesome.
They certainly make a good crawler 👌
This thing looks really really good
Looks alright not a bad truck.that 60 degree was pretty impressive 👍
Yes, really surprised me
HI PHIL THIS TRUCK IS A GOOD ENTRY LEVEL TRUCK TO GET YOUR HOBBY JOURNEY STARTED. DEFINITELY GET WHAT U PAY FOR IN THIS HOBBY. I AM DEFINITELY IN TO PERFORMANCE ROCK CLIMBING. RATHER THAT TRAIL DRIVING. WHAT I WILL SAY IS THAT IF YOUR JUST into TRAIL DRIVING I WOULD DEFINITELY LOOK AT SOME OF THE OTHER GREAT VALUE TRAIL TRUCKS PHIL HAS INTRODUCED US TO THOUGHT HIS GREAT REVIEW CHANNEL. 🇬🇧✌🏼
Thanks Mike. Yes, so many Crawlers out there to chose from, and after running multiple stuff from high end fully loaded stuff to more basic like this… I think this is more my thing, along with the FTX Fury 2.0 👌
Looks cool buddy!
I can't stop watching that 60degree climb i really thought you wer kidding that rigs amazing to make that an be the price it is
I get dissappointed whenever someone says "Allen" in a video and I don't see the clip you add. I love it every single time.
Love your videos. How do you wash/clean your Rcs? Some get pretty muddy. 😊 keep up the good work.
Does Team Associated own this company?
Bushings are not that bad as long as they are precision-made to the shaft that they are to receive and they're kept will lubricated.
Internal combustion engine has bushings on every connecting rod.
i am sure for a few euros its possible to change to bearrings. If they are as cheap as the ones i bought for my little hbx 16889, 8 of them cost less than a lunch in a cheap restaurant :)
Yes, Element are part of Associated
Unpopular opinion, but here in America a Redcat Gen8 V2 is cheaper and has portal axles, a licensed body, metal links, bearings all around, has an adjustable slipper clutch, and has a divorced transfer case. I think the Gen8 is better for getting into the hobby. Sadly Redcat doesn’t ship to Europe though. I guess America gets all the Redcats!
I wish we could get Redcats. They do some good stuff
Offroaders by any means is hard to find a good one. I personally like 1/24 scale because you can make a table for it that holds many courses within. I've been using SCX24 for awhile but I'd like to go to FMS FCX24 which is basically quite similar. As always,Thanks again Mr. Tomely.
Basically, awesome. It does what it says on the box, etc.
Yup 👌
It is an awesome little truck but I love it when you say Allen key what's a little animal coming out That's What Makes You unique
I was actually going to buy this crawler but then I found out that if I buy from wheelspin models it's cheaper to buy an ftx hi-rock which I was planning to buy in the first place.. car looks good though, nice video as always 👍👌
WELL DONE
A crawler is the one rig I'd consider the bushings to have similar advantages to drawbacks. For slow and wet driving, an argument can be made.
Yes agree
Very late on this, but great video. Im starting to build a budget class 1 crawler. What did you use for an interior?
Thanks and keep up the great content!
What an awesome rc i love it. Have you tested a Laegendary Grando?
Element RC Sendero are great crawlers !!
Hey I like it just add your own steel brass or aluminum links and that's all it needs and bearings if one wants
Assuming upgrade parts are, or will be, available I'd buy one of these for sure.
Yes, they already are 👌
This is on my radar to join the ravine!
Good choice 👍
Just bought an Element Enduro TrailRunner. Loving it, fantastic little car. Just not quite worked out the gear ratio settings.....any adivce?
Good choice. The independent front suspension is actually really capable
That angle!!
I like the plastic links they bend so you don't need high clearance links
That...thing...is bad ass!
👌
Another great video, thumbs up from me!
Thank you 🙏
Looks way better than the basecamp awfulness, 😀👍👍👍
Yeah.. that’s not a nice looking truck! And about 100 more than this I think
looks nice
I think bushings and a crawler will be less of an issue to me that like in a speed car or basher for the exact reasons you described, but I still feel that bearings would be better
Yes… bearings for high RPMs certainly
@@TomleyRC I do wonder what would last longer with absolutely no maintenance at a moderate amount of abuse on a low speed vehicle like a crawler
Yup I like the box's 4 sure. The rig has alot of aftermarket upgrades
Yes, decent starter
I can see Element being part of the 'Riviera Fleet' at some point. They have some great stuff out there
😎👌
Hmm been thinking about one myself 😅
Nice review. I'd love to hear your opinion on the Absima Landi (or its Chinese version).
They are decent. I had the Yi- Kong versions
I'm not concerned about bushings in the wheels as it's not going to be going very fast. It's surprising how capable it is for the price. Very tempted to snag one...
Great review! Where did you get the interior from?
Great body! Did you know if this body can fit on my trx4 sport ? Thanks
I got the older style body the original on a axial scx10 2
60 degrees was awesome!
Surprised me for sure!
@@TomleyRC No wonder! What a machine.
I'm loving the area outside you do your crawler test videos looks like a lot of fun.
FPV camera for the interior. Then you can be the driver. That I kind of want to do an FPV gladiator for the ol lady
Is this a better 1/10 rock crawler option then the Redcat gen 8 v2 for the same price?
What is that body that you have on the land rover dicovery. I need that body and im having trouble finding it! were did you buy it from?
Great video. It would be good to see some head to heads on the channel, vehicles within say a £100 of each other not expensive vs budget
I’ve done a few.. but sometimes they take a long time to make and don’t really do that well. But I am planning a Crawler Vs video soon
@@TomleyRC appreciate that 👍. Look forward to seeing that, in that price range you have Carisma, FTX and the Element RC I know of at least here in the UK but there are probably others
It might be a good choice for a gi joe classified size truck but definitely needs a new body.
nice
Nice
Am enjoying your review! and a nice truck too. On a side note, stay less K.... please 👍🍺🇬🇧
I’m not sure what you mean… I’m just being me
I know it's been a while but how would this truck compare to a Gatekeeper?
I bought a bag of body mount washers, they're just round white plastic washers that will keep the body from bouncing. I use them on a few of my RC's
Good idea
I have the RGT 136100V3 “Bronco II” in blue that I got for $209 and is pretty capable with different tires. Most people will buy bead locks and different tires anyway. It came with lights, metal links, and bearings. I don’t see how the Element is worth $90 more than my RGT.
I’ve got both the Bronco and Jimny versions. They are very very capable with just a tyre change. You could argue that about many crawlers. The RGT’s are smaller and have a 380 motor with centre gearbox for a start, so set up differently etc.
I'd like to see you modify it on a budget and show us what it can actually do.
Hello, could you let me know if it’s better than RGT 86100 V2? RGT got more steel components and it’s bit cheaper in my country. Thanks for replies
That’s one of my favourites. Solid choice for sure
@@TomleyRC Thank you for reply! On banggood was 86100 Pro without electronics for 210e, wanted to pair it with ISDT ESC70 and Holmes hobby 550 27t but chassis got sold out. So I will be probably playing with 86100 V2. Till now owner of just FY-5A (bought it right before seeing your video) Thank you again for message! Keep up awesome work! Love from Czech Republic 🙂
Awesome looking rig, but I think I’d prefer the RedCat Gen 9 for the same price point
Man someday I’ll have a crawler collection like yours. If you donated me a crawler I’d love you for ever😆
how would it compare to the TRX4 sport or Basecamp?
Don’t own and would never own a Basecamp. TRX4 Sport is probably a bit better, but it’s a bit more expensive so 🤷🏼♂️
Yet again Phil kills the driver in a massive 4 spin roll down a mountain lol
😂😂😂… he had safety gear on I promise
Phil where u find interior from
I think it was out of a hardbody I bought from Aliexpress a while back. It’s a bit crap to be fair
Mine was hitting lines that my buddy’s trx4 couldn’t even hit.
ALAN!!!
Steve…
@@TomleyRC STEVE STEVE STEVE!!😂
Just wanted to mention when I clicked on the global link it had a promo showing you get a free 1/24th scale truck with certain 1/10th then it disappeared and can't find it again.
edit: if you add a trail runner RTR to the cart you automatically get a sendero enduro 24 trail truck free......nice deal if you think about it.
Yes… good deal for sure 👌
Yo Tomley!!!😀
Yo Jason.. sorry I’m late 😅
@@TomleyRC 👍👍
This or the Scx10 ii Deadbolt?!
My daughter said yea the hand
How much price this is?
What the name that yellow truck, please?
Watch the video 😅
smoked my stock Esc in snow 5 min run even bought the program card lol paper wt now lol
is simpler better say more reliable less to go wrong?
I like the black edition better
Yes… although not out in the UK yet
Seems really good for what it is, but that price....
hey im new and im trying to buy the cheapest i can to enter the hobby can anyone help me find the yellow truck he says offbrand good and cheap XD please and thank you love the content!!!!!!!!!
I did a video last week on it. It’s not cheap though.
nope, not when the Axial Basecamp and TRX4 Sport are out there. It's also kind of a joke that Associated won't pay for any vehicle licensing so that is a generic truck body with decals for a Ford-ish grille and a Chevy-ish grille
Both are around 100 more than this one though. And the Basecamp and Sport are not licensed either 🤷🏼♂️
