Hi Kathleen, yes I wasn't sure which you meant. The locks cards are available from most local shops as well as the WI patrollers on the Shannon Erne Waterway. They are also available online from www.waterwaysireland.org A 10 Unit cards costs €6.36 and 20 unit cards cost €12.70. Each lock on the Shannon Erne Waterway is 1 unit. Hopwe that helps. Harry
Hi Kathleen, You can buy a lock key (windlass) from Waterways Ireland (least you used to get them there) of some marinas would probably make one up for you if you were stuck.

the otters will be out in the dark, maybe dusk is a good time to spot one
Thanks for that I'll make a point of trying to spot one. Problem will be differentiating between an otter and a mink.

Ballinamore and Haugton Shore looks nice. There seems to be many small 'islets' in Lough Garadice. Is it easy to find your way around?
Mark 1, Oh yes, and there's plenty to see there. If you like fishing it's one of the best fishing lakes around.
If you have mink that is quite bad news.... went to ballinamore in 1970
