Most people here don’t seem to understand the concept of selling in bulk. As silverpicker has said dozens of times, the seller he bought from was a knowledgeable coin collected who knew what the value of his collector was when he sold it. Selling items online individually takes time and a lot of effort, he has to pay shipping and ship off the individual packages which can be time consuming. Selling in bulk is selling all of your items at a discounted rate, not a rip off.
@Adrian Matras yes I agree! I'm sure this is also his buisness but when it gets to this extent he's just ripping people off.... The person he bought it off clearly didn't have any clue of what he was selling
Actually that's not the case. The seller is a knowledgable coin collector and chose to take convenience of selling it all at once over getting top dollar. It will take me a year to sell everything and I won't actually get the full $825. Closer to $700. A 40% margin over the course of a year is not unreasonable for the risk.
@@Silverpicker I sold 19g of gold to my lcs and they pay 98% and I end up getting $150 more than I paid if you can sleep good at night then fine I could not
Eh. When selling to someone for resale, usually 50-65% is reasonable. Also, you don't know what other 'agreements' were made. Maybe Silverpicker is going to offer selling things to the viewer at a reduced cost, etc.

Jasper-Holland even if the seller got ‘robbed’, he still agreed to the transaction. Silver picker got a good deal for sure, but you cannot say he robbed him.
The life of an item in the retail market. Manufacturer sells widget to a Whole Seller for $2.00,Whole Seller sells Widget to Retailer for $4.00, Retailer sells Widget to consumer for $9.99, Customer uses Widget but needs to sell it but a secondary seller can only sell it for $5.00 because it's used, offers $2.50. Consumer gets angry because they paid $10.00 for the item, which is now used and they want their full money back, they get angry and walk out and end up selling the item for $1.00 in a yard sale. These are the people secondary sellers have to deal with on a daily basis. If he sells all of the collection, he may clear $200 ($600-$400) after discounting some of it and if he uses Ebay, roughly $100 will be lost in sellers fees and PayPal fees. If he keeps some of the items, like he said, he'll get back even less. All he showed was the values not what he's actually going to get for the coins. The seller may have gotten more by selling most of it for the silver scrap but that would destroy the coins and the History that goes along with it. Lets not forget, the seller was Ok with the price that was paid, meaning they got what they wanted out of it. Awesome collection but it would be a bit** to list lol. Personally i love the older 1st and 2nd century B.C. coins, the conditions don't make them very valuable but the history is unparalleled.

The first note from the second envelope at 20:50 is a Hungarian 1000 (ezer = thousand) Korona from 1923, overstamped to 8 (nyolc = eight) fillér in 1927, when the Pengő was introduced to change the Korona because of its hyperinflation. Then 12500 Korona worth 1 Pengő, so 1000 Korona worth 8 fillér (which was the "cent" for Pengő). In this condition that note worths about US$ 25.

Hey Man!! Thank you so much. What people don't seem to realize is that sellers frequently sell in bulk at a lower price in exchange for not having to deal with parting it out. @@Silverpicker I know all too well about these things. Most of the time I can't give away foreign, a lot of buyers won't touch them. My average costs on eBay is about 20% overall, that's not even including your time or other expenses. Even there you won't see full value. Cheers

You are entitled to do whatever you want, but he doesn't think it was a rip off. I even sent him this video and he was very pleased. You have to understand 3 things about this deal: 1. The values listed are the eBay retail prices. You need to deduct about 13% for ebay selling costs. That brings the expected value down to $717. 2. The seller is knowledgeable about coins and silver. He chose to sell it to me because it required no effort from him. He didn't have to spend any time waiting for buyers for individual pieces, spending more on shipping, and spending time running back and forth from the post office. He knowingly gave up cash for convenience. Something people do everyday when they choose to buy milk from the store instead of having a cow and milking it themselves. 3. This is still much more than a pawn shop, jewelry store, or cash4gold place would offer him, meaning based on a market-pricing approach, this is a fair deal. If none of this seems reasonable to you, then feel free to unsubscribe. I will be disapointed, but you are welcome back any time.

I love your videos man!!!
Keep on a good job!!!
Greetings from Mexico!!!
Thank you!! Greetings!
Thoroughly enjoyed this. I got 120 silver rings for 205 bucks once. They were all authentic sterling. Worth about 900 a year later.
Nice pick!
Awesome video, love watching you look through Coins, I hope to get some merchandise, keep up the good work and have fun!
Thanks!! Glad you're enjoying it!
Yes thank you.
Beautiful coins! I actually have the set of 5 great lakes coins!
All you guys are calling him out for "not being fair" but none of you would pass up that same deal. Look, liquidity is sometimes worth more in rough times than others. Any coin shop would've ripped him off two-fold. Another great video man!
Awww you really are a supportive stacker!
keep it going bro been watching you for 6 years, nice to still see new uploads
Thanks for the continued support!!
I really enjoyed your video. I like the way you are so engaged with us. Thus was a really fun Unboxing.🙂👩🏼🏵
Thanks Lady B!
Wow... SA and Nam road-trip! Did you do videos?? I'm a South African so I would know some of the places.
Now for a bit of personal detail - I have only ever spent one Friday in the USA - spent in NYC! That evening we ate out in an upmarket Manhattan restaurant - celebrating our son's birthday! Yep, 06 Sep! I'll be hoping to spend more time in NYC and hopefully meeting you and taking hand delivery of a future grab bag buy! 👍👍😁😁
Awesome. What a profit!!!! 😀😀😀
The banknote at 20,26 is a danish 50 kr banknote, it is the banknote we still use, it is worth $ 7,50.
Cool stuff. Amazing deal
Thanks!
Scammed the seller. A fair deal would of been $750 not $415...
I disagree. With selling fees, you can't make a profit on a $750 purchase
I consider a scam as somebody not getting money at all, this is not a scam, it’s a barter.
Silver picker i think you got a good deal and didn’t really take advantage of the seller he probably would have gotten less for all those coins if he took it to a coin shop!
Thanks Penguin!
Not to mention it is going to take time and effort for you to sell it!
Keep up the amazing content ❤
I'll give you $450 everything.
Lol
The guy is just another nyc crook like Cuomo.
I love victorinox, that model of their knife is actually called the florist. though if you want a quality knife that will match the beauty of your silver and gold collection I would 1000000% say get yourself a case xx. A bit pricey but when you get one, you’ll see why. The resale on those knivesis fantastic and even some of the boxes for vintage case knives can go for $15-$20, just the boxes.
I collect knives too 😂
Canada makes great coins... but can’t figure out how to keep milk spots away from older coins
Fair point!
Those Canadian coins were amazing
Gorgeous, right!?
The one ancient with the horse on it is called the “' spearing horseman coinage set” these were made between 348 and about 400 something AD and by the looks of the shape of it it might be a early type I have a first year of one
That's super helpful. Thanks, Wyatt!
Great Haul, loved the silver ounces and the 2 cent. A good mix, in my conscience I would give your friend another $100 though, $415 seems low for what its worth.
I hear your point, but the prices there are retail. It will take me a year to sell everything and I won't actually get the full $825. Closer to $700. A 40% margin over the course of a year is not unreasonable for the risk.
I can't believe all these comments i'm seeing, the seller literally made the decision to sell this. He can't be made to do that, it's as simple as that.
Me too
Are they smashed or error pennies?
Smashed :(
Open those mint sets and check for errors!!! Error coins are way better than boring perfect coins and some certain errors are worth some serious cash
Fan from Namibia 🇳🇦👍
As a Canadian I wish all your videos were like this lol
what you got on sale fam
Everything (for the most part). Shoot me an email at thesilverpicker@gmail.com and we can work something out.
You mean england really know how to make coins since Canada and Australia uses our mint, and our minting machines
I think that the Canadians and the Australians have been minting their own coins for a long time now, the sculpture of the monarch is usually the same as that on British coins though.
Chow much for the stardust coin?im interested
Already sold, sorry!
Shield nickel priced at $75. Am I missing something?
1871 is a better date. They go for a fair amount even in poor condition
@@Silverpicker just watched your interview with Christian and it reminded me to come back and say thanks for the help. Your videos and feedback have been very useful!
I'm a cent error hunter but love coin videos for entertainment while I roll hunt and cherry pick.
Hey man whats up. Completely fair deal, lots of trolling in the comments for some reason. I'm digging your new video setup man, it's very clean looking recently. Happy for the success of the channel, keep it up. Thanks
Hey Man!! Thank you so much. What people don't seem to realize is that sellers frequently sell in bulk at a lower price in exchange for not having to deal with parting it out. Moreover there are costs to selling, so a collection worth $800 ends up really being more like $700 or less, leaving me with a 30-40% margin. Very healthy but not exorbitant. Thanks for your support and the kind words about my channel
@@Silverpicker I know all too well about these things. Most of the time I can't give away foreign, a lot of buyers won't touch them. My average costs on eBay is about 20% overall, that's not even including your time or other expenses. And people talking about selling to refiners for 98% are full of it, they have minimum orders, fees, shipping costs, and determine when the spot price is executed. Even there you won't see full value. Cheers
cool t-shirt idea sp, nice coins, thanks for sharing, i like this social networking idea.
I really want the Puerto Rico colorized quarters how much ? I’d be willing to pay $1 for both
Hi. Do you still have 13:40 polish coin? My dream is to collect full set of Second Polish Republic coins. Even if I know it is impossible for me ;)
Unfortunately not. All sold :(
where did you buy this coins ?
so moldavite was from a asteroid that landed in Germany, Austria or Czechoslovakia I can't remember which one, but it hit the ground so hard it caused glass to heat up & that's what moldavite is
Wow, very cool. Thanks for the info!
How do we know which stuff you're selling?
What is your type set?
It's a collection of one of each type of US coin ever made
Oh ok that’s pretty cool
Where do you find all this? I'm looking for precious metal - silver and gold, but I really don't want to break the bank...
Honestly I thought u were a fair guy u ripped your viewer off that’s not cool I’m even thinking of unsubscribing
You are entitled to do whatever you want, but he doesn't think it was a rip off. I even sent him this video and he was very pleased. You have to understand 3 things about this deal:
I respect your reply but like u said it’s my opinion do i think he did a good job on a sellers point no but this is what u do so
How are you pricing the bullion at 40$ a piece?
These are high end bullion pieces that have very high premiums over spot. I used eBay sold listings to price out pretty much everything in this video
What do u want for moldivite round
Sorry, but I sold pretty much everything from this video already :(
Wow really amazing looking T-shirt design looks!!!
15:23 is an anonymous Byzantine follis, a late and scarce variety indeed. 19:10 Constantius II, it is probably the commonest Roman coin. Still, really nice coins in this lot! Super good value! Probably some $1,000 worth of coins!
Do you know the value of the 15:23 one
@@HamFriedR1ce Yes, but price of Ancient coins depends mostly on quality and condition. I'd say that between some $40 in VG and some $360 for a choice VF example with a nice patina in a full heavy round flan. Not a common coin at all, only one example sold recently by CNG:

Next time I would leave the value out so people dont see how bad you got over on someone this person got way under value
Disagree. He is a knowledgable coin collector who chose to sell all at once for convenience instead of spending time and effort parting it out to get top dollar. Moreover, it's a better deal than he'd get from pawn shops, jewelry stores, and cash4gold places. Lastly, a 30-40% profit margin for me is not unreasonable...
@@Silverpicker I like your channel I'm going off all the hate your getting I just wouldnt show the value but it's your channel you can do what you want I got no hate towards ypu
People he didn't RIP the seller off. He gave him a fair price. Would you pay more for this stuff? He didn't have to sell it. If it was mine I would be happy to get $400. No pawn shop would pay that, not in my town.
I wonder what the polish 1 zloty (zw-ot-e)'s silver content is?
very entertaining, well made videos...don't like colorized coins but love the turtle one
Wow. People are so jealous! I am too, but I don't see how going to a pawn or coin shop is any better. Like you said, you bought the whole lot cheaper, you should get a good deal. I would love to have a deal like that! It's very important to be honest with people and tell them the value of their coins. A dealer knows, so he could probably part with the stuff easily.
Must not know that large cents with full dates are actually pretty good to get
I do have a video of foreign currency but no nothing about it. This book has about 50 foreign bill including the Zimbabwe Trillion bill. All of the bill are in great condition but would wonder if what you would offer for the book? I will not post the link of the video because I don't think it would be allowed. let me know. Thanks and great video.
It was an agreed trade. No one was forced.
Remember, modern coins in almost perfect MS conditions can auction off for thousands these days even State quarters which recently went way up in price via PCGS guide.
Is bank notes foreign and usa worth money
I have a huge 5 dollar us bank note
Who did you buy from?
A viewer
An idiot
Awesome shirt man! Cant wait to get one. 2xl for me and I hope you have a couple different sizes and colors cause I know an inumerable population of peeps that appreciate cleverness 😆
Hey Will! Thanks! Would definitely appreciate the support! Got lots of colors and sizes. Women's styles and hoodies too!
Man set a price for his stuff with spreadsheet, man got money for his stuff. Seems fair to me, clearly if he made a spreadsheet he knew roughly what they were worth, and made enough so he felt it was a decent deal.
