First - nice to see you're well. Please take good care of yourself. After the success of the TV show Beste Zangers 2019 with the home audience (in the Netherlands), where Floor sang songs from other musical genres, she had the option of supporting solo shows at the beginning of 2020 (songs from her entire career : AF, Revamp, Northward, Nightwish, covers from the BZ show...), which were again successful. Then, during the break from the pandemic, she made some covers from her home studio, and established the direction in which she will continue this new solo career. Her April 2022 interview with Chaoszine is explanatory in this sense. This is the first song from her solo career, and she released 2 more songs this year, "Storm" and "Me Without You", following that at the beginning of 2023 she will release her first solo album. This in parallel with her activity in Nightwish, where she rightfully considers herself at home.
Hello from Brazil. I'm not much into radio music, but Floor managed to make me listen and really like the 3 songs from his solo career. It reminded me of the first album by the German band Xandria. I don't listen to rock anymore but that album (Kill the Sun) is really good. By the way. You changed your haircut and when I accessed your channel play list I realized that I had already seen the other "react".

Nice to see you are back. And you are correct to say it is radio friendly, Floor is looking for her own sound and didn't want to go metal or pop but created a Floorsound. Going to watch your reaction to Storm and hope also to see "me without you" I was very lucky to go to a show 2 weeks ago and she performed these 3 song where me without you was the first time anybody had heard it. The second lucky part was that she was in the same hotel as a lot of members of Floorworld and I got the change to talk to Floor and had a picture taken.
If you are looking for more guitar but still her voice, she has another side project. It was released shortly before COVID hit and after her world tour with Nightwish. The band is called "Northward". Check it out, some good ole rock and roll.
Apparently Floor said ahead of the release that this - and the whole album - would be different from what we've heard from her. Seeking her own style, I think. This doesn't have the same hooks you'd find in straight pop music, nor the symphonic element of Nightwish. Having grown up in the late 70s and early 80s, this seems to me to be just a straight rock song with a female lead. Of course at that time there weren't 100 different genres of rock/metal music, so my technical knowledge base on where to place this is sort of limited between those two. The only other options from my era were dying disco and still-underground punk, and it's definitely neither of those. I like it; suits her well. Shows a nice maturity, I think.

I don't think she will put full blown metal in her album at all, but maybe something a little grittier, who knows. I do appreciate what she did with those songs. I liked this song, I liked "Storm" even more, but "No Me W Without You" I love, even though it likely is the most radio sound she did... But it's somehow a bit more 80s radio music style, and I guess that's why I love it. Glad to see you're back ☺️

I have to agree with you on the instrumentation, not just with this one but with the solo effort overall. Don't get me wrong they are fine and I even like them. All the vocals are strong and the melodies are fine to good. They just come off a bit over produced.
Honestly, I don't like metal at all... except from Nightwish.When I was 'kidnapped' by my grandparents to Wacken in 2013, I got to know the music of this brilliant band and the breathtaking voice of Floors.Today she can sing whatever she wants, including the phone book, and she immediately captures me.

This song is about finally being free from the lockdowns. The burning chair represents the chairs we were all forced to stay at home and sit on.
