Not to sound like an arsehole critic but a recurring issue with ur vids is not showing footage of the things your describing, like how you didnt SHOW Angel's ability in footage while describing it at 1:58. That kinda leaves us to just take your word for alot of things. But I mean editing is hard so wat do I know? And you've gotten a bit better. Love your vids still.
I remember there was a patch (?) for the game where if you installed it and typed in a cheat you could play as the X-Men in single player. It was a blast playing as Wolverine slicing and dicing my way through those clones lol
i had a computer science teacher in high school who loved PC games & mods and would let us play quake and half life 1 (and their mods) when we were ahead in the curriculum, as well as on the weekends when he and another teacher would use the computer room @ school to host LAN parties with "competitions" judging mods made by us. and that guy fucking LOVED this mod. he'd throw hissy fits over it, so much so that it was obvious when he was playing it during school hours due to his goofy whines from behind his monitor as we were working. awesome teacher, but he was a really goofy dude. all i could think of while watching this. still, another great vid, thanks ggg.
also +gggmanlives gotta thank you and some in the fan community for recommending the GOG version of "Blood." it was the only one of the 3 main build engine releases i hadn't played, and after failing to find a working version for DOS box, the GOG version worked beautifully and i had a fuckin blast playing through it. i think i might even like it more than shadow warrior. thanks. side note, what happened with the serpent riders podcast? seen a few comments where you insinuated that it's pretty much dead in the water, and that's disappointing.
I love my comics and I love my video games, but this doesnt look like somethin' for me. Which speakin' of, I got my hands on Quake thanks to the Steam sale, and for a first timer, I absolutely love it!
Good news! I finished my 2nd playthrough, which was an ALL secrets run on the Hardest difficulty and I have not only aroused in muh pants, but aroused as a champion of Quake 1.
I love how gggmanlives is talking getting home from school and watching the kid-friendly x-men cartoons as a kid, and then talks about how at the same time he constantly played vicious and violent, nightmare inducing Quake. 90's kids are the best. It would've been nice to have been around back then.
I really don't have to watch this...to know that Xmen...could never translate into a Quake mod. But still, there is clearly effort here...which is awesome.
I always feel like I missed out on something having never watched x-men. Maybe it was just less popular in europe, but I sure as fuck never saw it on tv during thems 90's.
Something interesting I learned when looking through the games data, there are first person weapon animations for each of the x-men, meaning the original intention was to allow you to play as the x-men! Most likely for deathmatch or something.
YASSSS! I've been wanting to see you play this for awhile now. All the Doom Mods you show off are always interesting, but when I think of mods, this one always stands out in my memory... probably because it got a commercial release, which was weird. So happy to finally see the GGGMan take a look at this bizarre thing! :D
I Loved this mod as a kid, you could load this mod up in multiplayer and play through it as one of the x-men, which I don't think a lot of people knew. Instead of getting guns you would get that mutant's powers which really spiced things up, for example Rogue Flies, Wolverine regens.
I loved Quake and I loved the X-Men cartoon back in the 90's, so I was so thrilled to learn there was an X-Men: Ravages of Apocalypse game back in the day. It is a shame that you needed to install Quake in order to play this mod, but I still loved every minute of it. Kinda makes me wish they release this as a full fledged game on current or next gen consoles as well...
IanPeon what IS wrong with the hit detection in that game, anyway? i've unloaded full clips at point blank range on people and only managed to hit them twice doing about 15-20dmg. not even joking.
I admit my "broadband" internet connection regularly drops into the toilet (cough, TWC, cough), but sometimes it takes two entire seconds for hits to register, as I've witnessed that happening more times than I care to count, and I'm not sure what to blame that one. It's sad to say, but I think CS 1.6 was a better online experience, and those were privately run servers back then.
Yeah, i played a match yesterday and my buddy actually hit a guy with a headshot, blood spurt and everything but the game didn't even count the damage.
i swear that it's even worse than how you start out in Deus Ex. even though the bullet spread was seriously embarrassing in DE, at least i could hit people 100% when i'm point blank.
I picked this up back in the day when it was new. The level design was pretty mundane as you mentioned and so I never bothered to make it far into it. I might have to give it another try in a modern source port.
Crazy if the story is true that Marvel rushed to make this into an official game, where you're playing as a random follower of Magneto gunning down hordes of cyborg versions of the beloved X-Men in full Quake ultra-violence. You would think that this would be disrespecting their own superheroes.
Could you please review the A v P doom mod there's a few but I really want you see the level of detail on kontra kommandos alien enemies and gibs. It's great I love playing the three different races. Xenos and marines going at it against being hunted by the Predator. Plus smart disc and plasma caster are my favs. Though a bit OP
How good is Quake? I own all of them but Quake 3 Team Arena and I was looking at giving them a go. I wasn't even born when most of these old fps games even released but having played them now I really enjoy them.
tokega Whoa! This reminds me SO much of another mod I played back in the day! Do you know of any similar projects made on the Quake engine? Sorry I am so vague but it's the only thing I have to go on right now :-D Nice video us usual!
I was just curious why you have no content on the Perfected Doom 3 mod? I would like to hear your opinion on it given your Doom connoisseur status :) Thanks for all your great content sir, keep up the good work.
1:05 "Jean Grey" *Shows Storm*
It shouldnt bother me as much as it does
I couldn't find a sprite of Jean Grey. Fight me.
Giggle smith you're joking righ
SigmaBot If it bothers you at all, it already bothers you too much.
Love your vids still.
your issue is not knowing the difference between your and you're
The shotgun fires at the same tempo of "We will Rock you"
and now it's stuck in my head.
I hate you
Goddammit
For me it was already stuck after about the third time he fired the gun. Not very intuitive for a gun but an awesome rhythm.
"i also love how *T H I C C* Rouge and Cylock are, despite being rendered in the blocky Quake Engine" -gggmanlives 2017
toasty DAY he's our guy
Gggmanlives is the best man to ever live.
toasty DAY psylocke
You don't choose the coomer life, the coomer life chooses you
I remember there was a patch (?) for the game where if you installed it and typed in a cheat you could play as the X-Men in single player. It was a blast playing as Wolverine slicing and dicing my way through those clones lol
The shotgun is the winner everytime
Because it is a shotgun
It's effective against thieves, terrorists, zombies, aliens and now mutants.
Shotgun must be some sort of firearm's equivalent of holy element.
thicc i see your a man of culture
Gggman is an Aussie. Shitposting is in his blood.
*you’re
I wonder how long it'll take for someone to do a compilation of Gman saying Shiiieeet, it always puts a smile on my face when he says that.
4:17 BLAM BLAM CHCK CHCK BLAM BLAM CHCK CHCK, awesome beat
I totally remember playing this game. I've told friends that it exists and they look at me crazy.
i had a computer science teacher in high school who loved PC games & mods and would let us play quake and half life 1 (and their mods) when we were ahead in the curriculum, as well as on the weekends when he and another teacher would use the computer room @ school to host LAN parties with "competitions" judging mods made by us. and that guy fucking LOVED this mod.

The shotgun sounds like the beat to "We will Rock you!"
A mod corner video...that's not Doom? Imagine my shock!
Quake has a ton of mods, so this should be great!
Salokin Sekwah have you even watched his vids? he has done mod corner videos about half life
hazzmati yepp
like Malice?
That was nice one
Your videos are always such a joy to watch. Please don't change cause you, sir, are amazing.
I love my comics and I love my video games, but this doesnt look like somethin' for me.
Which speakin' of, I got my hands on Quake thanks to the Steam sale, and for a first timer, I absolutely love it!
Try it with the Darkplaces engine and a few texture packs.
Recommend Texture packs?
quakeone.com/reforged/ Bam, enjoy!
Good news!
I finished my 2nd playthrough, which was an ALL secrets run on the Hardest difficulty and I have not only aroused in muh pants, but aroused as a champion of Quake 1.
Yeah, I had to download the soundtrack.
Sorry for the lates, Gentlemen. Ive been on a Half Life Marathon.
Thanks for covering this, man. I've been curious about this one for a long while
Bought this at Best Buy when it came out, memories!
You're actually playing as Cable. That's why you can fire concentrated energy beams out of your hand.
Cable can't do that
Any chance for a NecroVision review, G? :-)
Yes, this.
+1
kicking and shooting rifles in game inspired by Death Watch with Andy Serkins in - that's my jam.
Maybe they make DLC for BF1 inspired by it?
Hopefully not. That game is shit. It doesn't hold a candle to Painkiller.
Deathwatch is dope. Love the atmosphere in that movie.
That would certainly be nice. I'd be nice to know what he thinks of it.
Heh. Your parents are cool, taping you the latest X Men episode when you were a younger Sunny Jim. :)
Weirdly, I just did a video on this game too. I feel bad for Zero Gravity entertainment. They seemed talented and Marvel screwed them.
I love how gggmanlives is talking getting home from school and watching the kid-friendly x-men cartoons as a kid, and then talks about how at the same time he constantly played vicious and violent, nightmare inducing Quake. 90's kids are the best. I'm glad to see your channel growing sunny Jim
can you do Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45? or Combined arms as a mod Review?
I was already wondering when the next video would come haha, cheers !
6:35 Marvel making a bad decision in the 90's? Nooooo waaaaay.
That shotgun makes a pretty funky beat. BUM BUM TSH BUM BUM TSH! WEEE WILLL WEEE WILL ROCK YOU! BUM BUM TSH!
I Loved this mod as a kid, you could load this mod up in multiplayer and play through it as one of the x-men, which I don't think a lot of people knew.
Instead of getting guns you would get that mutant's powers which really spiced things up, for example Rogue Flies, Wolverine regens.
you never make a bad video mate keep doing what your doing :)
This was a bad idea....
Let's not forget that sick beat the shotgun makdz
"what could possibly go wrong" is that a Bubsy the Bobcat reference ?
"Complaining about the hit detection in CS:GO." Amen.
IanPeon what IS wrong with the hit detection in that game, anyway? i've unloaded full clips at point blank range on people and only managed to hit them twice doing about 15-20dmg. not even joking.

I swear TF2 has better hit detection and that runs on 2004 source
i swear that it's even worse than how you start out in Deus Ex. even though the bullet spread was seriously embarrassing in DE, at least i could hit people 100% when i'm point blank.
"Wolverine runs around like an asshole."
Yeap that pretty much sums it up.
Hey Gareth congrats on almost 100k subs. Can't believe I was here in like the single digit thousands like 6k or something. You deserve it man!
"Drier than a nun's nasty"?..
I fucking love Australia.
Never heard of this but looks cool
The shotgun has a pretty sick beat
"Ammo counter runs drier than a nun's nasty" Well then ._.
Imagine an official 90s based Xmen shooter in the quality of Overwatch.
3:50 sick beat
Love the soundtrack,,
Enjoying your mod corner series. Great content, you deserve to have more subs.
1:05 dude that isn't Jean Grey
It's Ice Man
I remember seeing this on store shelves.
1:06 Jean grey(shows storm)
A minigun that shoots on bursts? It's like a bottle opener that blows up as you open them.
I done been Sonny Jimmed.
Do yourself a favor people, if you haven't already. BUY THE QUAKE COLLECTION ON STEAM. It's like 4 bucks on sale right now.
I actually own the CD for this. You forgot to mention the little Flash based Motion Comic that comes with it that tells the backstory. XD
Like goddamn Gggman, I just watched like 2 vids of this last night!
I picked this up back in the day when it was new. The level design was pretty mundane as you mentioned and so I never bothered to make it far into it. I might have to give it another try in a modern source port.
1:06 that's Storm, not Jean Grey.
Crazy if the story is true that Marvel rushed to make this into an official game, where you're playing as a random follower of Magneto gunning down hordes of cyborg versions of the beloved X-Men in full Quake ultra-violence. You would think that this would be disrespecting their own superheroes.
I remember this total conversion back in the day. I was impressed by the visuals but after 30 mins or so I was so bored I just straight deleted it!
this look's like the kind of game that a anti mutant will love to play with in the x men universe lol!
Can you check out RealRTCW?
any chance of a review on vanquish?
Review battleborn, it has to happen
Biggest problem is you don't play as an X-Man.
At least you get to fight a large variety of them.
Gotta ask, how are you prepared for the long run
You should review Malice for Quake.
I know they are powerful mutants and such, but jesus some of those baddies look like they take an absurb amount of ammo to kill
i remember seeing this sold on cd
Zerstorer - Testament of the Destroyer next?
Russian Overkill, Misery and NecroVision when?
Can you review the halo spv3 mod?
i remember this mod
They should make a Aliens vs Predators Game Mod that's built out of the Quake 1997 game engine.
Ever heard of a mod known as Malice?
How good is Quake? I own all of them but Quake 3 Team Arena and I was looking at giving them a go. I wasn't even born when most of these old fps games even released but having played them now I really enjoy them.
Stitch quake is fantastic, the second is good but not great, and quake 3 I haven't played but it looks fun as hell
So who do you play as in this mod? Cable?
Man, I hope you'll cover Halo SPV3 once the second part is out
Can you review one of the Elder Scrolls games by any chance?
Can I ask one question who's a Cyclops fan? Like he's your first pick type of guy.
You should do a Hidden and Dangerous 2 review.
Quake is awesome
the shotgun has a hip hop beat
I feel bad you had to play this crap. I've played through this one way too many times to review it, ugh.
I saw your review, it encouraged me to do a video on it.
Can u plesse tell me what the fuck is thst coming ojt of the shotgun. That is absolutely horrible
tokega Whoa! This reminds me SO much of another mod I played back in the day! Do you know of any similar projects made on the Quake engine? Sorry I am so vague but it's the only thing I have to go on right now :-D
Nice video us usual!
you should do a review of the mod PROJECT REALITY (a battlefield 2 free mod)
www.realitymod.com/features
Seems to me that Plasma rifle was intended as a 3 shot burst weapon. Interesting mod though. Unfortunate it didn't reach its potential.
It'd be funny trying to fight Magneto in an fps.
storm kills you with her eggy farts lol
I was just curious why you have no content on the Perfected Doom 3 mod? I would like to hear your opinion on it given your Doom connoisseur status :) Thanks for all your great content sir, keep up the good work.
"MALICE for Quake", anyone?
+1
Saw LP on Kikoskia's channel, was entertaining
check out Tribes:Veangence, it's free and has actual Jet packs.
Can we play this in RTX by any chance?? Any modders in the house?
I was LITERALLY obsessed with the X-men shows and games
Hey Ggg, have you checked out Arcane Dimensions? It's the best thing to happen to Quake in years. The Widowmaker is my favourite FPS shotty bar none!
What a nightmare. D=
why not do a misery mod for stalker episode
Maybe another team can pick up where this guy left off and improve on its gameplay and level design
l4d2 video when
