Definitely in the mood! 🥰 The 90's WKW films especially played a huge part in helping me to realize my particular interests in certain aspects of the artistic side to moviemaking that have definitely become a staple of my "taste" in films~ I think they absolutely helped to lay the bridgework in focusing my attention towards the early 00's Korean wave too as it was unfolding in a similarly new and exciting fashion.

@@TheMovieBeat If one day we have the chance that you make a live for your viewers, i will ask you where this hunger for design, unique universes (Anderson, Jeunet, Wong Kar Waï or Jang Joon-hwan) comes from. I'm sure it's the same with video games, i guess that you may have loved "Bioshock", "Silent Hill" and "Final fantasy VII"

This movie disturbs me because the intense anxiety expressed in it over Hong Kong being absorbed into the mainland, and losing much of its identity and all of its sovereignty as a consequence, seems to have been justified.
At the same time, the fear over the lack of acceptance for same-sex relationships in the future proved to be (mostly) unfounded. So at least we got that right!

So much about that home without a home sentiment flew way over my head when I saw this as a youngster, mostly absorbed in the cinematography and unique relationship dynamic playing out. Seeing it with that added element now after learning more history and context really deepens the experience and I can understand that anxiety a lot more now~ interesting about the progress made in some areas and the lack in others.

Another dope release! This back to back WKW bluray review got me wondering, have you ever done like a top 10 fav bluray release of all time kinda videos? I think those would be fun.

Good idea!! I've only done a 10 must own Korean limiteds but an all time would be fun too. Although since I've had to sell some over the years to feed the hunger for acquiring more, I'm now worried I've sold some of my faves. Anyways, I'll be thinking and I'm sure I can pick 10 beauties I currently have for a future video!
