I just put mine together and can’t wait to see how it works. I have a smoker but sometimes I get too much smoke flavor. I’m anxious to be able to get good flavor and cook in short amount of time!
Yeah from everything I’ve read online you have to pre-burn the pellets for 15-20 minutes until the smoke changes from white to clear, before you start to cook. I’ve also read that their pellets aren’t great so you should get some others.
What's the lowest temp it will go to? I was wanting something to keep the brisket warm overnight etc. Did you saw wood chips? Can you use those or does it have to be pellets?
I have this. Just got it. And, as much as I love Ninja's products, I have the 6 in 1 with the thermoprobe, this can NOT replicate something like a several hour smoke on an offset or UDS type smoker. Just look at the ribs you pulled, there was no smoke ring at all on it. What this does do is add a pungent smokiness that's acrid and bitter, and you can tell by the smoke coming out of the unit, it's just this gross white smoke that looks like cancer. You want a nice thin blue smoke which means you're cooking with full combustion in the firepit. You don't want smoldering white smoke which just produces a ton of creosote, which is what you're seeing at the top of the grill by the fan. I only did one smoke session on this with a smoke salmon, and I could already tell by hour 1 that this thing looked like a nasty tabacco spit jar. I had to throw out the salmon.
Thanks for your comments. Im in the market for a pellet smoker and a friend mentioned this. I’ve smoked a few things in the past and know exactly what you are talking about, thin blue smoke vs white. I’ve watched many videos on this and keep seeing the white smoke. I’ve been wondering if the flavor is there or basically something a person would get from a smoke tube.
I just saw this for the first time a couple days ago and really wanted to know if it's worth it. You sold me on quick weeknight meals. Cooking after work is always tough when you work late
I use it every night after work and we add some smoke flavor to just about everything I cook including cheap frozen pizza. Hi! Its an electric grill. So you hook it up to an extension cord or directly into the outlet. However the cord is literally 2 feet long, so unless you are grilling directly next to an outlet, you need an extension.

@@KennasKitchen I just received my grill yesterday. Going to test it out tonight. I'm kinda lazy and wanted to throw everything in the dishwasher...just checking before I did it. Thanks for the video review!
No! It claims it’s strictly an outdoor unit. And you didn’t miss it, that info was just not in this one. It’s in our unboxing and initial review video! It’s basically an electric oven with an option to integrate wood fire!
You can use this indoors as well I watched the infomercial about it literally like 2 weeks ago when I couldn’t sleep and I wanted to see how real ppl with real reviews
I’m shopping for my first smoker and need input. I’m a single person so I don’t need a large appliance. Would this be good for me or should I get an electric smoker? Pellet smoker?
It depends on how true of a smoker you want honestly!! If you like the act of smoking, and want to get into it heavily, even with just one person (and big enough cooks for leftovers) I’d go with a smaller, charcoal/stick smoker. If you want super easy, leave it and forget it smoked meats, I’d go with an electric smoker. Something like this unit or a small master built/pit boss unit. If you’re looking for a little mixture of both, I’d do a newer gravity fed grill, a small egg style grill, or a if you must, a pellet grill. (I don’t like pellet grills after one almost caught my deck on fire.)
Thanks so much for your help. That really gives me a direction. I was looking at the master built electric boxes but people said theirs were starting to melt and had fire flare ups inside. I like safety and the set it and forget it. Thanks so much!!!
@@Cmon_Nah123 I have a master built electric smoker and love it! Before I got this ninja, that was the unit we loaded up to smoke butts on during cabin weekends! Now that we have this, we have a little more space in the car…lol
I went to look at options today at the store just to familiarize myself with options. I don’t have a grounded electrical sockets for any of the smokers to connect to. Would that be a problem?
Loved your review, but have not been able to find a review of the Ninja woodier with the attached thermometer. I'm wondering about it's performance. Do you have a opinion?
Thank you:) and I have no opinion because my unit doesn’t have it…but I’m bummed it doesn’t. I have a Wi-Fi thermometer I use for all my smoked meats/temp probe for quicker cooks so it’s not too much of an inconvenience but it would be nice to have it all in one! One less thing to forget on cabin weekends!
You do need an electrical outlet to plug it into right? It's not like you can take this with you rough camping. I haven't seen the power source referenced in any of its reviews or ads.
There is something. So it days to turn ignition with whatever mood I chose. Then it pre heats then it asks me to add food . But I realized that most of the smoke and the wood is burned before I even add my steak . Is this how it works or am I missing something?
Hi! It should not be burning though all the pellets with just the ignition & preheat part. It will though do a lot of heavy smoke in the beginning, but turn to a whispier smoke once you’ve started cooking. This is designed so that the “bad smoke” burns off before you start cooking.
Well thank you for the kind compliment:) I do not believe a small turkey would fit. But I guess it depends how small. For instance, I would say a 12 pound Pork Butt is the largest piece of meat you could fit since its the squarest shape of them all. If you go to the grocery store and compare the two and the turkey is smaller, then you may be able to make it work!
OK it’s a woodfired outdoor grill that produces great result the only problem when you’re outdoors you don’t have a electric to plug it in WTF, if you’re in the woods you’re gonna need a generator what the hell that’s the whole purpose of grilling outdoors Not have to rely on a municipality to supply your power
I would look at this grill less like a camping grill, and more like an electric grill. Similar to a pellet or gravity smoker, and electric smoke boxes. Normally those are used on back decks where there is a power source available. I mean, you could take this outdoors, but you’ll need a portable battery box.
@@KennasKitchen Good point but they advertise it like you’re out in the wilderness and don’t say anything about the cord until they get to that setting on a deck would be nice if it could be more versatile though
when you have a cut scene , and a finished product next to a finished machine , we know we have a staged product wach the comercials close , they are ridiculous
Hi! This is not a commercial or a staged product. Just me and my husband shooting a review video of this unit and using some footage from recent cooks. Im glad to hear they look commercial worthy though!!!
No smoke rings. Personally gonna stick to my traeger , but it was worth a shot for ninja to offer to inexperienced smokers. Theres definitely still much to improve on this product. But the idea of using an electric smoker for home BBQ seems doomed. For something quick like burgers or chicken this would be good or even if you travel a lot.
This isn’t about what gives you the best smoke rings, it’s about convenience and functionality for those who lack space, or aren’t allowed to have grills and smokers. Btw traeger in all its expensiveness still doesn’t compare to a real smoker so let’s get off our high horse there.
I got diagnosed with alpha-gal syndrome so I can’t eat beef/pork well no mammal.. my family are able to eat whatever but now I can’t eat off the same grill. Are there any other small grills you would recommend over this one?
Hi! Sorry to hear about that. If you're into charcoal, I would check out the Char Griller TableTop Portable Grill/Side FireBox. I surprisingly use mine all the time and absolutely love it. Its convenient, heats up quick, and only 70 bucks!
We did a 16 month around the USA RV trip and lived another 8 months in an RV park while waiting for our visas to immigrate to Portugal, where we now live in an apartment. I really wish I'd have known about this unit for the RV trip. I used a mid-sized Weber grill for our trip. I love cooking on charcoal but can't in our apartment. I bought a Woodfire grill and love it. No charcoal mess or ash disposal issues. The best part of course, is the cooking performance. It can't be beat. I highly recommend it.
@@ralarosape yeah, I mean if you’re making a lot for leftover might be good to go with the Weber but if you’re looking for something convenient and small cooking space, this would be perfect for 2 people
Out of all the people that have been reviewing this unit… Nobody has emphasized the “smoke” that you do or don’t get. The smoke would really be the only reason the buy this unit and people aren’t really talking about it.
For these particular one I used a sweet heat sauce just from the local farmers market. But I have a video on how to make 4 different style bbq sauces. And you can play around with them to make them your own!

Is it easy to clean
The grates and Crisper Basket is super easy! The lid is not as easy.
Definitively, the best of both worlds. The only thing I don't like is the high price tag. Portability shouldn't be an excuse for unreasonable prices.
Yeah, it’s definitely pricey compared to other small grills but it is portable and convenient! It’s also Ninja, so unfortunately they can price it whatever they want cause people buy it up no problem!
@@KennasKitchen There are nice discounts over Ninja products after they'd been on the market for a while, or during Black Fridays and Prime days. I got a new 2021 Ninja XL grill/griddle (IG601) for $149.99 on Amazon. The Ninja Foodi Smartlid Pressure cooker with thermometer which normally retails for $349.99 was on sale for $229.99 during Prime days. I'm quite sure this Woodfire will be on sale for about $250 in no time. Thanks for the video. Btw, beautiful kitchen of yours!
@@Albertojedi that’s right!! They come out with so many new products every year, if you can hold off long enough, you can definitely get a deal!
And thank you so much:))
QVC had this as the daily special yesterday for much cheaper. I ordered one! Today is already $70 higher. Still, QVC might be way too go.
Still trying to figure out what you said you could fit 30 of on this grille...
Aka: Hot Dogs
@@KennasKitchen Thank you.
Can this be used in-house? near an open window but no patio/yard?
I wouldn't recommend it.
Love my ninja wood fire grill easy fast an great taste
You got that right!
Hi do you know if this is available in the U.K ?
I am not sure. It’s available to pre order, and if you click the link below the video it may show you what you need!
You mentioned in your video that the grill grate is dish washer friendly. I assume you put yours in your dish washer already? If so, did it tarnish? Have you put any other accessories in your dish washer? According to the manual, only the pellet scoop is dish washer safe. I just purchased this machine cuz you sold me on it and have not used or cleaned it yet so just wondering.
I have put everything BUT the pellet scoop in the dish washer 😂 everything has been fine!
@@KennasKitchen I just received my grill yesterday. Going to test it out tonight. I'm kinda lazy and wanted to throw everything in the dishwasher...just checking before I did it. Thanks for the video review!
Grill is intriguing but those ribs has zero visible smoke color.
Oh yeah, if you’re looking for a smoke ring….I’d go for a real smoker. Lol
The smoke ring has zero significance to the flavor.
@@Dj21oo I have one it adds a smoke taste to it but not a strong taste like a pellet grill or offset smoker
Can you use it inside? And did I miss the part about how you load pellets and what fuel to use etc?
No! It claims it’s strictly an outdoor unit. And you didn’t miss it, that info was just not in this one. It’s in our unboxing and initial review video! It’s basically an electric oven with an option to integrate wood fire!
@@KennasKitchen Thanks for the speedy reply. Look forward to more content on this as it's definitely an intriguing unit
@@artustbbq1195 shooting a couple this week/weekend! Hit the bell to get notified when those drop!!
@@Cmon_Nah123 this one is definitely easy and set it and forget it. Also shorter cook times cause of how compact the unit is!
I went to look at options today at the store just to familiarize myself with options. I don’t have a grounded electrical sockets for any of the smokers to connect to. Would that be a problem?
Is it cordless. ?
No
Loved your review, but have not been able to find a review of the Ninja woodier with the attached thermometer.
Bought my bed bath beyond…Never regretted
Love to hear it!!
Were you provided the Woodfire as a complimentary unit for review?
I was provided the woodfire, but not for review. We shot their product video for this unit! Hope that clears things up:)
You do need an electrical outlet to plug it into right? It's not like you can take this with you rough camping. I haven't seen the power source referenced in any of its reviews or ads.
Yes! You need either an outlet or a portable battery box! Also if your car had an outlet, it would work in that as well.
So there are a couple ways you could take this camping!!
@@KennasKitchen Thanks for the quick reply!
Love it bought a second one for the vacation home
Can you use it indoors
You shouldn't use it indoors, as its designed to smoke up.
Tender ribs that bite clean off the bone in 45 minutes is really hard for me to believe.
Hard for me to believe too. I dont know how they do it.
REALLY LOVING your videos!!!
Glad you like them!
Thanks ,i ordered one with all the goodies ,nixe job on the videos.hello from utah.
Hi Utah!! I’ve always wanted to visit.
Good little grill I like mine
I love it! So convenient and clean up is a breeze!
You are truly entertaining and the information you provided was excellent. Will a small Turkey fit in this grill?
Well thank you for the kind compliment:) I do not believe a small turkey would fit. But I guess it depends how small. For instance, I would say a 12 pound Pork Butt is the largest piece of meat you could fit since its the squarest shape of them all. If you go to the grocery store and compare the two and the turkey is smaller, then you may be able to make it work!
I don't cook but this is my new best friend for the kitchen 😍
Awesome!!
Easy to clean?
I'm getting one!
Do you think there will eventually be a ninja woodfire XL?
I think they have opened a door they cant close. So yes, I could see them getting larger for sure.
Good video. I'm just wondering how nasty that hood gets and if it's easy to clean or disassemble to clean.
Gets pretty gross. I treat it like an outdoor grill and don't clean the hood.
This seems like it would be awesome for burgers, steaks, chops, salmon, wings etc.
Definitely!!
when you have a cut scene , and a finished product next to a finished machine , we know we have a staged product
wach the comercials close , they are ridiculous
That’s how I feel!
This isn’t about what gives you the best smoke rings, it’s about convenience and functionality for those who lack space, or aren’t allowed to have grills and smokers. Btw traeger in all its expensiveness still doesn’t compare to a real smoker so let’s get off our high horse there.
@@jenf7309 facts! 🤣
I found the 30 min time on the frozen wings are 30 actually the correct time i think you didnt see that time on the frozen chart.
Sweet! Thanks for sharing:)
I got diagnosed with alpha-gal syndrome so I can’t eat beef/pork well no mammal.. my family are able to eat whatever but now I can’t eat off the same grill. Are there any other small grills you would recommend over this one?
Maybe a blackstone
Hi! Sorry to hear about that. If you're into charcoal, I would check out the Char Griller TableTop Portable Grill/Side FireBox. I surprisingly use mine all the time and absolutely love it. Its convenient, heats up quick, and only 70 bucks!
Food technology is revolutionizing home cooking.
Totally 🤙
I thought this shit looked amazing well now I gotta get one. Thanks for the review!
It’s pretty awesome! You’re welcome:)
I’m sold also
Great video by the way
Let’s Eat 😊
Thank you!! Eat up!
But will it work in the great British weather.?
Does the great British weather fuck with electronics?
Looks like a great unit and a great review!!!
Thanks so much:)
Wouaw superbe c'est disponible en France ?
the look is great, but I need an extra 10 inches in width.
Where does the grease go? Is there a channel that runs it into a catcher of some sort?
There’s a grease tray in the back it drops down too
You definitely deserve more views and recognition :)
Thanks!!
Could a whole chicken fit on it?
Definitely! And probably a medium sized turkey!
Great! Need a new grill and considering the Weber smoke fire, but it's only 2 of us.
@@ralarosape yeah, I mean if you’re making a lot for leftover might be good to go with the Weber but if you’re looking for something convenient and small cooking space, this would be perfect for 2 people
This was a great review
Thank you so much:)
Out of all the people that have been reviewing this unit… Nobody has emphasized the “smoke” that you do or don’t get.
The smoke would really be the only reason the buy this unit and people aren’t really talking about it.
I’ve got a chicken wing episode coming out soon that I’m sure will surprise you! 💨 👍🏼
@@KennasKitchen I hope so… I would like to this unit but only if you can really taste smoke in the food.
What BBQ sauce do you use? Recipe?
For these particular one I used a sweet heat sauce just from the local farmers market. But I have a video on how to make 4 different style bbq sauces. And you can play around with them to make them your own!
Is there a grease trap
Yes!

I hope it left you feeling inspired! Lol
@@KennasKitchen most definitely, now i have hope!!!😉
Only mistake: NINJA says not to put the grill grate in the dishwasher.
I like to bend the rules :)
Oooh they need a second rack to double up the burgers.
Dishwasher friendly? Ninja and QVC say handwash only.
well follow the rules you rule follower
Lol to the Glizzy reference 😂 🌭

If I had a whole packer brisket, I'd separate the point and flat and cook them one at a time.
great idea! I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a brisket small enough to fit, but I'll give this a shot.
