Join me as I teach a private session at Tomahawk Mx with Daniel, Talan and Matt. This is episode 20 of a series I've created so that my riders have something to reference after class, and so all of you can learn a thing or two!

Hey AJ , Just want to thank you for all your hard work on training riders to be better racers/riders. I took private classes many years ago with our local pro and I have to say. " he was no AJ Catanzaro. Your really putting your self into it . It's amazing for people to have access to a rider of your ability. So thanks !!
Thank you!! It’s taken me a long time to get my teaching where it is today.
It’s very cool seeing the progression of your riders it must be a very cool feeling for you watching them progress into better riders
Best part of teaching!
Can’t wait to use what you’re teaching on the track. Still learning at 51. Can’t wait to see you in ATL!
I just got a bike again....and I have learned more from this Chanel than 20 years of riding
AJ, I love your lessons and your level of detail. The lesson on the circle track was really good for me to see. I plan on incorporating that into my training regime.
Im just getting back into dirt at 55 and your vids really help with bike control. Hopefully Super Cross comes back soooooon! Thanx much for the vids!!
thanks i am getting confidence watching these lessons... very glad to have a pro rider like you teaching us...
Always offering a safe approach to becoming faster. Oh I want to ride so bad!!! Im old✌
Thank u so much for sharing your knoledge and splitting in chapters. Very cool looking forward the next
Great video. I need to try that line to the finish line take off. The dirt looks fun!!
Always good stuff from you, thanks for the riding lesson.
Rode tomahawk for the second time a few weeks ago. Was rough as a stormy ocean. And the lips of the jumps were nonexistent. Still pretty fun though. I was sore for days. Hey great videos.
Keep doing these videos
Keep in mind those two kids are on 2 strokes !! Good on them !!! No lazy riding
Great video once again.
Thank you for these videos! Good analysing and clear communication :) It may sound wierd, but it would be so nice if you did a pitbike (body position etc.) video also. How do these principles work on these small monsters?
thanks heaps for the vids AJ
Great vid!
no-denttt Delia on the TV, nice.
Love your videos which have taught me a lot. May I suggest that a mic be used that allows you to walk around ;)
Thanks for doing all this its great. I'm a new rider on a 2020 yz250f and would love some tips on suspension setups for the track and jumps and the woods, im 195lbs
Next video u make could it please be about how much rear and front break to use going around a corner and how much to work the clutch all together. If there is already a vid that has that what is it called. Thankyou, these videos help me a lot
Not sure on the shifting gears heading up that jump-ramp. If you miss that shift, it is nose drop city ...But overall, I got a couple more things I need to ensure I get correct on the trails.. Not really a track rider too often now... Thumbs ups!
When in the attack position should your heels be dropped all the time or should they be in more of a neutral position? It seems like if you do drop them that it would help plant the bike better. I know there's exceptions to every rule but what do you think?
Good question. My starting point in the attack position is always heels dropped. Although you need to make sure you use your ankle flexion when going over obstacles. When riding in a straight it should feel like a nice calf stretch, not like you’re doing a calf raise
@@AjCatanzaro Thanks bro 👍🏼
Hey Aj, I have been having a lot of trouble timing jumps, I seem to never be able to get them first try, it always seems to take me four or five try's to get them perfect. I always case them then over jump them a few times in a row till i get it, once i do get it it's fine but i was wondering if you had any advice for me?
I’m no expert mate but honestly in my experience I have been riding since two and currently 17 and I have learnt u never always gonna get it perfect first go, but as u said give it a few goes and size it up and commit to it and u should get it down pat no problem
sgt montgomry !!!! thanks man, i appreciate it
At 11:20 would Matt have been able to dab the front brake a bit to help with the lean angle, like you talked about doing in ruts during a previous video?
In a sandy/muddy turn like that without a true rut to hold you in you can’t rely on that front brake technique
Aj Catanzaro Thanks for the response, I’ve been loving these videos!
Hi AJ. New subscriber and newer rider as well (20 years ago on two stroke). I’m 6’6” and was interested in risers as an option as well since I’m so high on the bike when standing. Curious about your thoughts on this as well as lower footpegs and taller seat. Thanks.
To be honest I’m not quite sure about that. Reach out to Benny bloss on Instagram and see if he responds. He’s the tallest fast guy in the world, I’d be curious what mods he has to be comfortable
Thanks. Appreciate what you do.
I think I'm cutting some of my front fender off so I can see my front tire perfect for ruts for anything really
I need to come to tomahawk for some training. When do you do it?
Sei italiano? Tanta roba , che gass
Chris d'elia on the tv 👍🏻
Amazing
Make a video about tall riders. Im 6.4
Hey AJ I'm about 5'3 and I'm thinking about getting a YZ125 and I don't know if it's a good choice for a short guy
Perfect for u
How old are you?
@@zackarylanoue3372 17 and I know I'm short
what is a supermini? is it a ktm 150 or 85?
brooks mcmath A supermini is usually a 2 stroke 85 bored out to a 100-112cc Kawasaki makes a KX100 which is that the Kawasaki in the video. other brands don’t make a supermini from factory and they are made as a transition from a 85 to a 250.
@@coltondarland7017 thanks for the info!!
Man I got fast without anyone helping if I had this information when I was on 80s forget about it these kids are lucky being 35 I know the benefits of good coach
Thanks AJ!! I work in drag race. I would love to have you at a race in 2021. I have VIP tickets if you ever want to come check it out🤘🏽
Would be fun!
👍🏻
That's funny you tell them to lift it up over that little puddle and they keep going around it. Good work though
What track do you train at?
Tomahawk northern WV
Wait where’d they take each other out?
Daniel took me out coming in to the turn before the up hill and finish line
Kevin Art he meant in the video
Show us 🔥 AJ - love your'e Videos 👍🏻
Talan Ward oh 😂
Lol I wasn't trying to take Talan out on purpose. We were trying to get a thumbnail so I was going on the inside to let Talan get the outside. I didn't realize how slick the inside was and I washed the front and Talan ran into my bike.
What is your strategy on having Chris D on blast in the background for the intro 😝 you trying to prove how equally funny you are compared to how well you teach? Jk thank you for the knowledge man and fuck covid btw
Hahah need to make people aware of my comedic taste so they know who they’re dealing with
Nice clickbait
