    Step-by-step how to replace rear brake pads and rotor in BMW
    How to change Rear Brake Pads and Rotors in BMW
    Detach Brake Pad Wear Sensor line
    Remove Retaining Clip
    Release Caliper Piston pressure
    Remove two Brake Caliper bolts 16mm
    Use Breaker Bar to make job easier
    Remove lower bolt first
    Use box to support caliper - to prevent brake hose stretching
    Remove old Brake Pads
    Detach Brake Pad Wear Sensor
    Clean Caliper with Brake Cleaner
    Remove Rotor bolt using 6mm Allen Key
    Remove old Rotor
    Clean-up with Brake Cleaner
    Lubricate Pads contact points with Brake Lubricant
    Install performance ceramic brake pads
    Push Caliper piston in to fit new Rotor
    Apply Anti-seize to prevent Rotor seizing
    Clean new Rotor with Brake Cleaner
    Install new anti rust coated Rotor
    Reinstall Caliper
    Tighten Caliper bolts
    Finish tightening Caliper bolts to your vehicle torque specs. I'm tightening to 81 ft-lb
    Reattach Brake Pad Wear Sensor
    Reattach Brake Pad Wear Sensor line
    Reinstall Retaining Clip
    Reinstall wheel
    IMPORTANT: Before driving make sure you Pump the Brakes, and finish tightening wheels to torque spec!
    Reset Brake Service message

    I found it helpful to take of brake caliber first before trying to remove the caliber bracket. 😃 hope someone finds this useful

    Thanks for the video, I was able to replace both my rear rotors using this. Rear rotors and brakes are always harder than fronts since you can't turn the wheel to get more space, so for anyone who's about to do this, here's two things to note that may help:
    1: That top caliper bolt is really difficult to remove. I needed an extension bit on my breaker bar to reach it. And since breaker bars are usually long, I needed to jack my car higher than I normally would to have the leverage to break the bolts. Once they bolts were loosen, I used a regular ratchet wrench to remove them.
    2: Even after removing the 6MM bolt, both of my rear rotors were completely seized with rust and would not come off. Hitting them with a hammer didn't work at all, so I had to go to AutoZone and rent a 3 Jaw Puller. It may be worth it to buy one in advance for this job just in case you have stuck rotors like I did. The puller was able to pop them right off, and they were really, really stuck on there.
    If you don't have seized rotors and have done jobs like this yourself before, you could easily do this in an hour, maybe two tops. Good luck!

      Thank you for feedback and tips. BTW, when installing new rotors - I always use Anti-Seize lubricant, just to make sure it is easier to pull rotors next time.

      @@NewRoad Yup of course, these were the factory rotors so I doubt they put anti-seize on the hubs. I made sure to put anti-seize this time :)

    This is the 2nd video I’ve seen say pump the brakes but didn’t mention bleeding them. Do you not have to bleed them?

      You don't need to bleed when you change pads, you need to bleed when you change rotors or it is scheduled for brake fluid change

    Can you share some information on how you jacked the car up to do this job? Did you jack from the rear differential and put the rear on jack stands?

      I jacked using jack point (plastic sport to jack BMW) and then put jack stand under rear control arm. Some people put under diff

      I left floor jack under car' jack point and just put jack stand under control arm

    I've seen different specs for the rear torque than the front torque for the caliper bolts. I'll be doing my rear brakes and rotors this weekend on a 2016 320i xdrive. 81 ft lb for the front, but only 22 ft lb for the rear. Can you confirm?

      81 for my 2014 328i - that's what my research indicated. 22 sounds too low

    What brand breaks did you use? And will this work for 2018 320i?

      I used ACDELCO rotors and Power Stop pads. Ordered from rockauto.com. Work perfect! Yes, the process is the same - but choose rotors and pads for your year

    Important question my man! So I was wondering if I would be able to add 330mm brake rotors on my 2013 bmw 320i? They originally come with 312mm rotors I believe but I’ve seen some websites saying that the 330mm ones can be used on the 1 piston calibers as well. So I would like to know what you think about that before I buy myself some. Thanks!

      @@NewRoad In case of F30 320i 330mm front brake rotors should be used if you would have Msport (its came with 330mm instead of 312mm front rotor) package. Of course if you have 312mm at the moment you cant (without changing brake calipers).

    You don't have to clean the coated rotors with brake cleaner since they don't coat them with oil

      I always do no matter what rotors I install - just to make sure to remove dust, any other particles, etc.
