Superb presentation, your speech is the clearest I have heard! Can you help with a problem on my chromebook. When trying to connect to free wi-fi on a campsite it does not connect and states there is a captive portal problem. How do I fix this? Thanks
Thank you!
That means the campsite wifi must have a special web page you need to visit before it will actually let you access the internet. You might just have to agree to the terms, type in a password, type in your campsite number, or something like that.
If you open the Chrome web browser and try to visit any website, it should redirect you to this sign in page. Then once you've done that, you should have full access to the internet.
If there are any issues, you might want to ask someone who works at the campsite.

keep getting out of range message when chromebook is two feet from router
If it's that close to the router, I'd say the message is incorrect, and it is some other issue. Perhaps the password is wrong, or you might just need to restart the router or restart the Chromebook or something.

@TechTimeWithTimmy just got a Acer C720 chromebook today you know how when you click that circle that search bar with apps below it appear well i'm trying to get rid of two of those apps can you please tell me how to get rid of them?
Sure, you just right click on the app you want to uninstall and click "uninstall" in the menu that appears.
Some apps that came with the Chromebook (like Google Chrome and the files app) can not be uninstalled. But this process will work for most apps.

I have my HP Device where I have installed CHROME OS FLEX and in that for wifi showing "Wi-Fi is turned off"
Please suggest how to turn it on.
You should be able to turn it on by clicking the switch as I show near the beginning of this video.
If that doesn't work, I'm sorry but I think something must have not quite worked with the Chrome OS Flex installation.
Things like wifi, screens, keyboards, etc can sometimes have issues when you install a different operating system on a device.
There might be ways to fix it, but it would be pretty complicated and really not the sort of thing I know much about. I've never actually installed Chrome OS Flex.
So I'm sorry but I don't think I can offer much help.

Unfortunately that's not supposed to happen anymore thanks to a recent update, since the app draw switched from full screen to just appearing in the bottom left corner, you can no longer access it by swiping up.
I've looked throught the settings and I couldn't find any way to switch it back to the old way.

Man, what I must admit that what you're doing by helping people is admirable. One thing that is quite an obstacle in watching your videos though is the channel color palette.
The very satured blue with very saturated red is quite painful for the eyes, and the text is not quite readable.
It looks like you have had this color scheme for a long time, like a few years, so it sure must be hard to imagine changing it. It seems it would improve quality of your channel a lot though, if the color scheme would be upgraded :)
You're quite right. I originally chose these colors when I started the channel back in 2016 but I realized a few years ago that they're not very good.
I've been contemplating changing them, but it seems a bit hard when these are the colors I've always used.
Maybe I'll change them one day. Thanks for the advice.
could you try using a WPS button to connect the wifi?
I don't think Chrome OS supports WPS.

I have a FX2000 WiFi router and I cant connect the wifi to any type of Chromebook, I have a school school Chromebook that can’t connect and my home one. I need help.
Sorry, but assuming you've tried all the troubleshooting tips at the end of the video, I don't think there's much help I can offer, as I've never used that exact router before.

Unfortunately those are really the only suggestions I have. Beyond that, I would say either the wifi router or your Chromebook have a fairly serious issue.

Unfortunately as far as I know Chrome OS doesn't have that feature.
Mine says out of range. Why?
That probably means you are physically too far away from the router. Try moving closer to it.
How about if it's bad password
It's worth trying some of the troubleshooting options I talk about at the end of this video like restarting everything because sometimes it's not actually the password and there's just something going wrong.
But if none of that helps it probably means the password is incorrect so you need to make sure you're definitely entering the correct password.
Remember passwords are case sensitive, so you need to make sure all the letters are in the correct case. Another common issue is typing the letter o instead of the number 0 or vice versa.
Hopefully you get it connected somehow.

Firstly, you might want to double-check that you definitely typed the password in correctly, and that the password is definitely the wifi password to that network.
If it is, sometimes it can say it's a bad password when there's just some other connection issue. So you might want to try all the normal things like restarting the Chromebook, restarting the Wi-Fi router, and moving the Chromebook physically closer to the Wi-Fi router.
If none of that helps, I would say there's probably something wrong with your router, and you might need to look at getting a new one or calling someone to get it fixed.
