These sorts of racers won't give you the satisfaction that racing in games like that do, with proper handling and physics making every succesful lap feel like a barely grasped victory in itself. Jumping off a cliff with a car and surviving it can be exciting for a bit, but it doesn't have the longevity that consistent intensity from properly handling a car you tuned yourself on a track does.

Instead of driving what are essentially Wipeout hovercars on wheels, we should be making games that emulate how cars actually drive and handle. There shouldn't be an "end game" "meta" car that triumphs over all others. Publishers consistently ruin genres by catering to people disinterested in that genre thus ruining what made it work for the fans.
