That’s the issue with the 400+ cars approach of modern games - NFS MW had 32 cars, that all sounded incredible and were fun to drive. Games are way to overstuffed these days
True but I can already hear people complaining about a new racing game only having 32 cars. For todays standards many are just gonna think thats not enough.
@@TheEbenenGolem the thing is with blackbox era is that the cars fit the games modern forza set in mexico yet having australian and european specific cars make no sense and a lot of the cars that ARE sold in mexico are still their EUDM counterparts
I also love how games like PGR, TDU, NFS Shift and others paid attention to smaller details like giving each car a custom UI respective to their instrument clusters. That makes each car feel more unique. These days everyone has gotten lazy, a stock UI for all the cars, quantity over quality but yet it feels dull.
Something I hate about FH5 is that they managed to break fonts for a lot of the digital cluster cars in the game, which makes them end up using the ugly default font of the game's UI. No, more like back when there wasn't as much demand on so many different aspects of the game that made it harder to focus on 1 thing entirely and making it good. These days devs have to have 400+ cars in 1 game or else people will complain it isn't enough, with those 400+ cars everyone single one needs at minimum 5 bodykits and mix and match parts enough to create 20 different styles. Now you also have to do photo realistic graphics that make you think you are looking at a real life video, and perfect character, story, ambience, map that is big enough as a country itself. Now you also have 400+ perfect car sounds. Sorry but it's not the same, devs in the past had nowhere near the amount of demand players have now which fuck the devs over way too much.
I honestly wouldn't mind having like 200 to 300 cars max in a game if that means all cars can have more customisation and specially more unique sounds. Forza Horizon 5 car sounds are good (except for the awful backfire sound) but they are way too overused across the car list so you have like 150 cars that sound the same even though in real life they probably sound different. I just hope that for the next Forza Horizon game they actually improved upon the already good sounds. We need more backfire variety, better backfire sounds and more pops and crackles because some of the car sounds are too flat.
