I actually went and bought my 2018 Ducati Panigale 959 last week based on this, and I LOVE IT!!!!!! THANK YOU CHASE!!!! Its everything you said it would be!!!!!
That's my favorite-looking bike I've ever seen. I test road the 2016 and it feels low to the ground, but I guess that's because I'm tall. I don't think it's the best sounding, but I like everything else about it. And yeah, the clutch is SUPER late.
The bike is completely amazing. I bought a 2018 last year. It will still hang with anything on the road through the twisties as long as I do my part. The only time I feel it lacking is on long interstate pulls and really long track straights.
After I rode my 2018 Panigale 959 for the first time there was paperwork signed shortly thereafter 😂😂 glad to see you have more self control then I do!
Twins in the 900-1000 configuration don't make horsepower (more cylinders more horsepower, but torque curve comes on earlier) like inline fours which is why in WSBK racing, twins run larger displacement than their inline counterparts. Also Chase, if you'd like to eliminate some engine or exhaust heat? Fit an aftermarket exhaust that eliminates the cat. That'll free up the exhaust gases which should cool the bike down a bit.
yes you can also take off some of the fairing and run heat wrap all around the hot parts, will reduce some heat. Can also add some water wetter coolant helps reduce some more engine heat
a few companies make aftermarket heat shields that can help protect your legs from that ducati heat. It doesn't entirely fix it but makes it far more manageable. Some companies even make a true carbon fiber shield that looks rad!
BTW....I got a bunch of heat form my viewers for referring to my RSV4 (1000cc) bike as a Supersport. I wasn't aware that Supersports are 600-750cc machines. But the term seems fitting for any of these high level sportbike machines. Just thought you'd like to know.
Really enjoyed watching this. I've spent a lot of time on Panigale's and I'd say you pretty much nailed it. Definitely a large improvement over the 899/1199 panigale's. Also, oddly enough the 1299 has LESS heat than the 959 which is really odd.
I have a 959 and if I’m not mistaken the 1299 comes standard with a carbon fibre heat shield around the pipe under the seat which makes a huge difference.
Jaret Campisi hey i was watching some panigale videos on youtube and came across your episodes on that 959 they were so cool and guess what after i watched all of the project i ended up buying the 959 ‘18 same color lol i love the bike
Put almost 3,000 track miles on one if these. I must say it is a super planted and capable machine. Anyone looking for a bike to track and not be overwhelmed by acceleration this is a phenomenal machine. Don't get me wrong it is fast, 157h.p. It is not 1299 fast, but most will be over their head with a 1299. For 15k new , you get a a lot of bike with the 959.
same heat and tail lights on my 1199s. with the right pair of pants you can *greatly* reduce the heat. my tail lights have sagged and finally broke, it's an easy repair but it won't last; time for a new tail tidy.
My biggest gripe is the grips feel like your holding onto a broom handle and the e throttle tube has a 1/4” of slop in it. Since there’s no cables not sure if you can remove that play on the throttle tube. Last complain is they only have quick up shift. The 2018 MV Agusta F3 800 has both up and down quick shifting .... the mv does not come with a steering damper so that’s a draw back.... having such a hard time deciding between Ducati and MV Agusta.
OEM mirrors are terrible. They're a fixed design and snap off easily (I have one and know by experience sadly). Re-mapping these bikes improves them DRASTICALLY. Sometimes they have trouble starting which is cured by removing the charcoal canister and for me, the exhaust servo when I added my Termi pipes. I went from a 2011 R6 to my 959 and I haven't looked back.. I love my Panigale and it turns heads everywhere I go.Believe it or not, this swing arm weighs less than the single sided swing arm. The bike really isn't that difficult to work on as well. Nice review as always Chase!
Aztec rider 959 now that it’s been awhile, is the reliability as bad as people say? I’m looking to get a white 959 as well pretty soon, or a Daytona 675r if that’ll be more reliable.
If can still find one. I’d recommend the 1299 way over the 959!!! Looks better (single sided swing arm and the “color” TFT screen), is actually lighter with an engine that is more powerful and torquey. Would seem a no brainer worth the extra $’s.....
I rode one for about 30 miles. Roasted my hamstrings, but I've got to say, if I were being "chased" (No pun intended), this is the bike I'd want to be on. And I own a ZX14R SE. This 959 is a nimble quick thing. That rear pipe could probably handle some exhaust wrap though.
It's a middleweight Chase, those twins end up with bigger displacements for the power. The 1299 is their liter bike. This is more of something like a Daytona.
Bro have you not watched Jaret Campisi 959 bike build they put heat wrap on the bike to try and deflect the heat away from the rider also put in water wetter to make the bike run a little cooler so there's two ways to try combatting the heat issue for me I think our Triumph Daytona 675R is the perfect super sports no bias Adam 🇬🇧
That's one bike (Panigale of any flavor) that I've yet to ride...I think it'd be a great second bike to my Multistrada but I know I'd be tempted by that power. Nice review as usual.
Does that thing burns off your balls? Because i ‘ve ridden my friend’s 1199 tricolore recently. I can’t stand the heat all over my legs and my feet. And i’m not okay with that.
Can we get a compilation video of all the "B Rolls"(I think that's what it's called) of all the motorcycles you've done first rides on? I specifically want the H2 and the GSXR shots. Love your vids bro, stay safe.
chase, I laughed my ass of when I saw this upload. it really just reminded me of a video 5 years ago. a crash video. it's not the same bike, but still.its a dukaadee
Those damn Ducati rear turn signals man. You catch them with your heel while getting off the bike. I fucking would break mine on the Monster like that all the time. I don't know how many times I had to super glue them and then wrap the stalk in black tape.
Yo Chase’ two questions: 1: Talking about Heat, how was your ambient temp on that day? 2: Talking about your top 3 Sport bikes; what are the other two? Love the vids, mate! Stay positive!
chase I know you've had some trouble with your cameras. take a look at the Sony fdr X-3000 its an amazing camera and its optical image stabilization is second to none. love your vids just putting my 2 cents in.
That rev up/down is normal. You slightly over rev it (for your moving speed) with the clutch still in, and as the clutch engages it slows the motor. This is true for every manual transmission vehicle.
You're shifting to early to feel it's potential. That engine comes with a manual haha. And that little dip in the beginning is just a twin engine thing, it doesnt like being at low rpm. You just have to floor it at any time given :')
Autoblippers definitely showing up on cheaper bikes, and likely to see them more and more. At about the Ducati 959 price their Supersport S has it standard, and the newly designed Monster 821 has it as an option, at a lower price point.
I found a Mountain Motorsports location fairly local to me in Ontario, California which I need to check out now that I am about to test for my M1 endorsement. Sorry for unrelated comment.

Man every time I see your videos I think your really lucky as my dreams of being a true motovlogger had been crushed and I will never feel what it's like to drive a road bike ;-;
You got a new sub dude , from UK 🇬🇧 , I love DUCATI, I’m going to try the 821 now , I only got my license yesterday ✌🏽👍🏽👍🏽☺️☺️☺️ super happy super stoked ! Can you please review the monster 696 ?
My favorite part of that Ducati is the sexy looks. Hands down one of the most beautiful bikes out there.
We all know that the red paint adds 15bhp
J Rods no shit
No, the white paint with red wheels has more power 😉
more like 150
J Rods papa kleb would be proud of what u have learned
The tricolorè in ducatis? How much hp +? 😂
I actually went and bought my 2018 Ducati Panigale 959 last week based on this, and I LOVE IT!!!!!! THANK YOU CHASE!!!! Its everything you said it would be!!!!!
Is it as comfortable as he says? For instance compared to other bikes how’s the seat height and stuff. Looking to buy one soon as possible
That's my favorite-looking bike I've ever seen. I test road the 2016 and it feels low to the ground, but I guess that's because I'm tall. I don't think it's the best sounding, but I like everything else about it. And yeah, the clutch is SUPER late.
WALTERRIFIC my Monster 821 is late from a stop, but accelerating up through the gears isn’t so bad.
You even like the every month maintenance that you would have to do for it too? I’m sure it’s in the manual for it.
You test rode* it, not test road it :D!
DACUTI PRINGLE
vtwins sound like ass when they are up and moving sadly

@@jhitchman1 I have a 1299. Get rid of the stock exhaust which has the cat built in. Problem solved. Mine doesnt burn me at all

Finally Chase! I was beginning to think we'd never see another Panigale on your channel.

actually none of the panigale's come with carbon fiber exhaust heat shields except the superleggera
Jaret Campisi hey i was watching some panigale videos on youtube and came across your episodes on that 959 they were so cool and guess what after i watched all of the project i ended up buying the 959 ‘18 same color lol i love the bike
right on man love to hear that! Enjoy the bike and be sure to check out the series for some great upgrades!
I cannot tell you how long I have been waiting for this
I love an inline 4 but my god the noise of a Ducati V Twin, ah just heaven!
Chase does it again! I was looking into this bike for the past week.
Do a 2017 KTM 390 Duke review if possible :)
I 100% agree, besides the exhaust heat, you can't go wrong with a sexy, beast ducati. Too bad this one didn't come with the Termignoni exhaust tho...
Put almost 3,000 track miles on one if these. I must say it is a super planted and capable machine. I liked this video without even watching it. That's the respect I have for you chase!!
The panigale is the reason i got into riding, cant wait till i own one!!
I still come back to this bike. So beautiful
Lets go for a ride hottie!!!!! :)
I m in love with this bike...6:50 9:40 BYE BYE Right Turn Signal :)
wow.. he wrecked another
Panigale
22:56 that laugh..we can tell you are in love with the bike :D
The 1199 is incredible bro I think back then maybe it was just a bit too stiff if you adjusted the suspension to fit you it would have been better.
In cold norway.. the heat issue is a "feature".. heated seats are nice :D
why the hell is the back blinker hanging off the bike at minute 7:05?????
He hit it while backing it up at the start of the video, you can notice it bent in the parking lot and then hanging off at (4:15)
it's a ducati
Because its done with passion! If not broken its not passionate and lacks “character”
Yeah I noticed it too
Stiiiil!! Haha I love when chase goes full on southern accent
same heat and tail lights on my 1199s. with the right pair of pants you can *greatly* reduce the heat. my tail lights have sagged and finally broke, it's an easy repair but it won't last; time for a new tail tidy.

On some bikes they have a drop on initial take off as a looping protection. So you don't over rev and loop the bike.
Ducati just makes the best looking vehicles.
Please test drive the new 2020 Ducati Panigale V2. Would love to see if they fix any problems/improvements!

raihan gfr It absolutely does, test rode one for 1h and completely burnt my balls off
Well, thats the drawback of "L" engine, it'll torch up your crotch. Same goes with Aprilia, I think.
+Sr. Salman R.R.
Wtf is an "L" engine? Do you mean an inline? The way you said it made it sound weird lol.
L shaped V twin.
Ace nope man, the “L engine” means 90 degree of ducati’s v twin engine configuration

Look at the rear blinker at 4:17;]
Lol, if you notice in the cinematic shots and the overhead drone footage at the start it's not broken. But in the B roll footage, it is.
Get a fender eliminator or something if you can get another position out of it? If you haven't tried already of course
So the back right turn signal just dangles there like that? Dat Italian precision thoe
So which would you rather have and why: 959 or 675R?
@chaseontwowheels you should test drive the Aprilia RSV4 RR or the MV Agusta F4/F3
That throttle/clutch/rev thing you're talking about is quite normal. Even "normallererer" with a slipperclutch.
I had the same bike and I do agree with you an amazing bike and easier to drive
Today I came to know you are the guy behind the famous Panigale crash.:D
You should shift your expectation to compare it with the R6 / Triumph 675 cause that’s where the 899/959 lands; as far as I know.
Yo Chase’ two questions:
1: Talking about Heat, how was your ambient temp on that day?
2: Talking about your top 3 Sport bikes; what are the other two?
Love the vids, mate! Stay positive!
chase I know you've had some trouble with your cameras. take a look at the Sony fdr X-3000 its an amazing camera and its optical image stabilization is second to none. love your vids just putting my 2 cents in.

Yeah i agree with the other guy, its pretty easy to notice when the clutch slips.
You're shifting to early to feel it's potential. That engine comes with a manual haha. And that little dip in the beginning is just a twin engine thing, it doesnt like being at low rpm. You just have to floor it at any time given :')
TheConvers1 Have you got a video that you made doing this to your Panigale? Interested to see this. Thanks
minatormyth i own a 696 myself, but i have riden multiple ducati's of which a 959. So yes i know where i am talking about.
Autoblippers definitely showing up on cheaper bikes, and likely to see them more and more. At about the Ducati 959 price their Supersport S has it standard, and the newly designed Monster 821 has it as an option, at a lower price point.
I see it doesn't have passenger foot pegs , r those an option ? Or you just cant carry a passenger at all
Possibly just not used to twin motors chase? I wouldn't know either but my r6 does same thing but probably seems different due to inline 4
I found a Mountain Motorsports location fairly local to me in Ontario, California which I need to check out now that I am about to test for my M1 endorsement. Sorry for unrelated comment.

That dangling right indicator at 10:36, though.
With only 4 miles isn’t there suppose to be a break in period
