      the multiple endings aren't to scary, the generic ones are all pretty easy to get and you physically get to pick which one you want from a menu based on what you've passed the requirements for and the character specific ones become available from completing quests lines (and getting a good enough generic ending)

    I'm not sure if anyone cares, but i guess i'll share my journey too.
    I knew about the series since middle school. Images and artwork of Rorona was my introduction. For me, the series attracted me to it because of the very cute designs. Personally less a fan of Ryza designs although Klaudia is super cute. The girly designs is cute and very tasteful despite as a male... so I guess I'm a outlier when it comes to what character design I prefer.
    Anyways, as a poor middle schooler, I never got the game. I finally did it recently and I started off with Rorona. Rorona is supposed to be the start of of the modern atelier series along with the first of its trilogy, so seem like a logical start.
    I never found the time limit too hard at the start. It was only on the 3rd year that I felt the need to optimize my time hard. IDK how you got true ending with only getting 3 stars on the bottom (it translate to 1 star during the actual evaluation). I got the normal ending and I only missed a couple. The game felt pretty easy combat wise and objectives, with combat getting bit harder on the second year but manageable and then much harder both time and combat on 3rd year. My favorite character to team up with is Esty. She's so cool. I clocked in on nearly 50 hours on the first play through. I'm also playing the overtime and NG+ so probably double that. I think the games offer a lot more hours than just 20-30.
    The alchemy was simple to learn but hard to master. I only started to get all the mechanics after the first play through including overtime. The start was interesting but during the first year, I thought the game wasn't all that special. Didn't hate the game but didn't find it amazing. From 2 year onwards, I started really liking it a lot. The game got a bit more difficult which kept me engaged while all the mechanics being introduced kept the gameplay loop interesting. There was also more cutscenes that made me continue wanting to see more. And with 3rd year and overtime, there are so much stuff I want to craft and areas to explore, bosses to beat that 4 years doesn't feel enough.

      @jclosed2516 Рік тому +1

      @@Kraftium Personally I think the Mysterious trilogy is a great one. Especially now it is a 4-part series. You start with Atelier Sophie, and you can choose to play Atelier Sophie 2 after that, or go on with the other games (Atelier Firis and Atelier Lydie & Suelle) and play Atelier Sophie 2 after that. Keep in mind that Atelier Sophie 2 is much more modern in both graphics and game play. Technically the story of that game takes place in between Atelier Sophie and Atelier Firis, but in practice there is not much referring to any of those games, so you can play it any time after the first Atelier Sophie game.
      To react to your mentioning the Blue reflection games. Those games are very cozy indeed, but also have some tragic and sad moments. The story scene animation in the first game is a bit clumsy at times, but if you look over that, there is a very decent game. The second game (Blue Reflection: Second Light) is hands down the best of the two. Many of the things that I think where done very acceptable but also not perfect in the first fame, where hugely improved in the second game. It's a series well worth playing in my humble opinion.

I ended up loving that game so much, and while you mentioned Atelier games have a low playtime... my initial playthrough for that specific game ended up being around 80 hours, although I was definitely being stingy with time when possible. I did go back and play the other two and enjoyed them both a lot, each one having a different feel, although at this point in time I do still need to finish Lulua.

      also the music stuff is very robust I like it alot, I never changed the music too much cos I wanted to stay faithful and also I was kinda spoilt for choice but I did swap out the rorona battle theme for the "new" rearrangement of it so it sounded a bit more punchier

    The Ateliee series is crack. Once I started I couldn’t put it down. I used to play ages ago but didn’t remember it much. But I got Ryza 1 last year and o for some reason the synthesis just CLICKED for me. I spent soooo much time finding and collecting the best ingredients and making and remaking weapons and armor and got so OP. Then I’d do some side quests or progress the story and having that freedom was so much fun. There wasn’t some wild shit happening like the world ending, it’s just some kids who are bored and want some adventure and want some direction in life. Ryza is so likeable. Then I bought the entire Ryza series, Sophie 2, Lulua and then the Dusk trilogy will be next. I buy the Ultimate edition of all of them which gets expensive but I regret nothing. It seems with Ryza the Atelier series is finally getting more mainstream attention in the west and it’s well deserved.
    (Btw they’re on a super good sale now and until Feb 13 ((2024)) on the eshop and PlayStation store and I say this because I never see them on sale).

    for atelier games which are "ok": Mysterious (so far Sophie 2 is the most stable), Secret (all 3 games)
