  • Yaesu FT-60 is an older Amateur handheld radio.
    A nice display layout and a decent feature set.
    Visit my website to get a User Manual for this radio. COMING SOON
    www.pradiofun....
    It is written for the first time user to get started quickly.
    This is a good starter Ham handheld if you are looking for one with extended receive including the AM Aircraft band.
    $150 for an actual Ham radio; not a sort of ham radio for $30.
    Can be powered with 12 volts plugged directly into the radio.
    It does not receive FM broadcast.
    I am trying to get more content uploaded; but, life finds a way to get in the way.
    This quick review format is easier to make than my more polished videos.
    Ham Radio = Amateur Radio
    HT = handheld radio (handie-talkie)
    actual Ham radio =
    1) Is user friendly for switching between VFO & Channel Memory.
    2) Has automatic repeater shifts (ARS) built into memory.
    VFO = Variable Frequency Oscillator

    I just bought one of these on ebay, I am hoping it is better than the baofeng uv-5r that a bought me and my family members. Those will be good for my family and neighbors in emergency if need be. I got a few nagoya antennas to go with them and when I put it on the baofeng it would go dead and not receive anything, I guess it overloads the front end with anything other than stock antenna. Another thing is the squelch is kind of crappy. I hope the ft 60 is better for me.
    Good video mate !

      Nagoya antennas are the most counterfeited devices in ham radio. You may have gotten a bad one. The FT-60 is a much better radio. The only downside is it doesn't have dual display or receive. Give us an update when you get use to it.

    It's a Ni-MH ( nickel metal hydride) battery, not a Ni-Cd.

      The battery is good but uses older Ni-MH technology. If you need to drain it (leave the radio on) and recharge every six months or more.
