- Do you live in a country where you are free to express an opinion, however politely, that deviates from the prevailing view promoted by society, media or government? Present reality however points to that freedom being only a perception.
We often think that wide-scale censorship, which can include punishment, is only the preserve of dictatorships or nations ruled by oppressive regimes. Today renown experts in their field are being humiliated and cancelled if they do not accept popular activist opinion, even if that opinion is wrong.

Ok I'm going to do this again, as I did in the AGM of the Green Party nearly 20 years ago before I grasped politics...
Imagine a forest 1 kilometer or mile or ancient Egyptian kubit, or whatever of plants.
Old growth for starters.
And it's clear cut, but replanted with new trees.
Now the AREA is the same, but the VOLUME is not. There is not the same plant mass there. At all...
Now as a child in Toronto beside lake Ontario, my dad taught "When close to water it is a bit cooler in the day and warmer at night, because the water regulates the temperature."
Notice a desert is scorching hot... do u know its freezing at night?!
So I was in a seminar and David Suzuki didn’t show up, and a scientist from UBC showed and was talking about the effects of soil erosion on mountains because of deforestation. I asked:
What happens to the water in a tree when it's cut down?
She replied "That's a good question, I don't know".
Well I knew, and so do all the readers of this taught in school - it evaporates! Then does what?
Have you noticed the increased amount and size of the hurricanes and that season?
So if we were to have 2 twin worlds, one with lush old growth like an untouched Amazon and with the Sahara desert being a jungle as it used to be, and then on the other planet we literally clear cut the world and planted crops and bonsai bushes... where would all of that water go? What would happen to the temperature as I believe trees store heat too. What would happen to the weather patterns in comparison?
So the problem is not an increase in the fraction of a % of increased carbon that the thinning plants eat, the true problem is the managing of our forests correctly, and allowing places around say a Lake Chad to continue to deteriorate... and there goes the lake... and everything with it...
So the solution is to literally replant the sparse areas of the world, starting around rivers and going and growing out from there... and in 10 years I guesstimate... we will see polar caps being polar again, and drought and record breaking heat begin to balance itself out...

Ιts not cancelation if your actions or sayings make a certain audience to be detested and walk away or not buy your product. Thats always been the case.
Its not censorship, if you're insulting a gay person, calling him names like "f*ggot" to look him down on, or libel him with prejudices.
Your freedoms end when other people's rights start. Maybe it seem to you like a threat, but that is because you havent realized that since more rights have been acknowledged by many countries' constitutions, the more responsibilities have been distributed to citizens, that includes new boundaries.

Many of the acts you are talking about would be illegal. The complaint is that a standard beyond the legal is being enforced.
