Also a lot of people are coming up with the idea that he is a bad sport because of the way he carries himself in front of the camera and his constant smirking. You dont see him laughing and smiling all that much. Yes the matches are serious, and everyone takes it serious, but they all have a good time, and Khaled portrays the image that he is not. I think there’s a little extra context that adds to khaled being a bad sportsman, it’s definitely not just this match, you can tell any time he’s been beat in the past, even when Devon was in Dubai and pulled him, he gets unreasonably pissed when he loses, it’s fine to go into a match thinking you can beat everyone, that’s a good way to hype yourself up, but don’t take losing so badly. Maybe he’s not so much a bad sportsman but he is a very very sore loser for sure.
Also he seems to be a sore winner too, his match with schoolboy was supposed to be a super match but khaled backed out after winning this first round, which seems kinda iffy if you ask me. Anyways certainly he is incredibly strong but I think he needs to just control his temper, it’s fine to be a beast on the table however you should also try to be a likeable person off the table
For anyone who wants some evidence of this go to Larry wheels video titles “The strongest man you’ve never heard of” and at about 10 minutes in Larry defeats Khaled and he takes it really badly he accuses Devon of calling the match too soon and is clearly just super agitated about it

There are old pictures of awa armwrestling long before meeting devon, he's just one of those guys who works out but says he's just like that naturally; i've met several guys like him, it makes them look more impressive than if they just told people they work out; his hand thickness is impressive anyway (assuming he's never taken growth hormones like denis and levan, whose hands are massive), he just lies about being inexperienced and devon takes his word for it because it's cool to picture that; the story his friends tell has gradually gone from the original "he's never armwrestled or worked out before" to the current "well, he has armwrestled and worked out before, but only a few years", so his story will gradually get closer and closer to the truth over time; this was a cool way to get eyes on him though

    • @weggimbuoe
      @weggimbuoe 3 роки тому +3

Do you know for sure that he has done specific strength training or are you just speculating? Obviously he has not become so strong just doing nothing, he is an mechanic and has probably done alot of hard labor work. If that alone is enough to get as muscular as he is, I dont know, but if he says thats the reason, then I believe him. Given the benefit of the doubt, if it turns out its false, then that tells something about his character.
And about the previous armwrestling he has done. Even if he has been at some tournaments, he still looks quite inexperienced on the first pratice video with Larry and Larratt. In the video I also see Devon saying Khaled has never armwrestled, so maybe Khaled told him this was his first armwrestling practice and Devon just simply exaggerated the story. And even if Khaled lied about armwrestling before, its not really that big of a deal, is it? What really does not help this discussion though, is speculating and creating a persona that neither me or you can prove and that mostly contributes dividing people's opinions.

    • @theonetypingthis7186

@Ron Burgundy someone shared this recently, from what i noticed, his friends basically lie as much as they can get away with; if any contradicting evidence pops up they adjust their story up to the date of that evidence, first they had to change his "experience" to a few months when some pictures were pointed out, and right now it's up to "only a few years"; it's basically like me saying "i can do muscle ups with 120kg strapped on me naturally, and i've never worked on them, never even seen a horizontal bar before" and as long as you have no evidence of me working on that exercise i can say i've never worked out a day in my life and i'm just that strong, then if an older picture of me doing muscle ups pops up i say "well, i had done it only that one time, never before or after that picture"; this case got a lot of eyes on it, but it's just a dumb thing some guys do; it's such a dumb type of lie that you can't even imagine someone doing it without prior experience seeing it

he does train indirectly, because he works as a mechanic, and not one of those super high tech ones where you have a "lifting machine" for every 10kg part. so, wrist, hand, forearm...he is no couch potatoe obviously.
BUT, all of that changed a few months ago. he does specific grip training now, AND he does armwrestling. but he is still a beginner, but really quick learner, comapre his posture to Larry, you immediately see the difference. Larry struggles, Kahled is way more comfortable.

However just like in mma etc it provides drama for the sport. Typical ego - oh I never train, never lift weights, but look how naturally amazing I am. Cameroon average height men - 5’7 btw. It’s okay though we all have egos.

Devon did not say, that Khaled has no big ego. But he came up with the question... "What is wrong about having a big ego?". You do not have to like this guy, thats fine, but he still gonna armwrestle and get adiditional will power by his ego. If you get beat by his ego then I would ask myself if you are really matched to beat such a guy in the first place. And if that is his character outside of armwrestle, so what ? That doesn't disqualify him to do armwrestle matches.

    The story of Khaled
    Awa´s training partner:
´´So Larry Wheels stopped by to do grip and to show the world how strong Khaled is. Khaleds best was 4 strict reps on the Millennium dumbbell (104.5 KG). Today he got 5 reps. Laine Snook has the most reps at 8. But it is not strict reps. Carl Mayerscough got a strict rep. Mark Felix only lifted this dumbbell to maybe 2 inches. Khaled strength is Iron Grip. Larry's channel will soon have the full video. My reply to all those on Larry Wheels channel about Khaled is a liar about his training and that I know he is lieing but helping him in his lie. That is not true. I will give you the exact story of Khaled; going root deep. For the guys accusing me and Khaled to lie. Okay let go deep in his background. He is from Cameroon. When I say he never trained, it isn't he has been sleeping all of his life on a bed with him being spoon fed. No he worked hard all of his life as a mechanic and farming a bit. He has huge strong hands. He says his father is same and his younger brother is taller with even bigger and stronger hands. He came to Dubai around two years ago to work. He worked as a mechanic at a garage. One of my Armwrestling friends had a car issue and stumbled upon his garage, which was near where he (Khaled) lives. He saw his muscular build and he strong he was in moving heavy objects. The armwrestler asked to armwrestler him. Khaled easily beat him. He was so excited and asked Khaled on his day off (Friday) to go with him to the Armwrestling gym. This was in Feb 2019. 2019 not 2020. People there did not believe that armwrestler because they though yes there are many strong people out there but it is extremely hard to translate that power into the table. He went that day and beat everyone except one. The next week they also invited them and that time he beat everyone; including the first person who could beat him. They invited him again in May 2019 when the Indian national champion S.K. was there and he also did beat him. All of this without training. The people there knew he (Khaled) was and is a threat to them as they wanted titles so they didn't invite him again. A year passed by, in March 2020 another armwrestler heard stories about him and tried to find him as those guys did not give information about his whereabouts. He kept on searching and asking until an honest man told him that he knows where he works and gave him the garage number. He found Khaled. He then Armwrestled with him and saw Khaled has a big potential. That was it. Until Devon Larrat came in August that person invited Khaled to meet Devon. Devon was very amazed by his strength that he couldn't top roll him (I am sure he didn't go full force though). Larry Wheels too. I then was asked to check him out. I took him to my place (grip dungeon/temple) and the rest is history. We have been training around 2 month now. Once a week only. He works 14 hours a day and doesn't rest much, doesn't eat much until I met him. He will soon (God willing) be sponsored and have a better life and training facilities.´´

As much as i wanna belive you go back to Larry's video where Larry beats Awa in the straps and gets mad then the next video he comes back stronger and beats Larry and the other guy shabib or something when they train like 3 times a week or more for armwrestling and Awa just beats them by training once a week thats very unlikely you just can't beat someone who trains more than you and you beat them with just one week of training i know hes lying cause his strength also increased dramatically so i know if he lied about his training to sound more impressive hes gonna be lying about not training at all sorry but this story is just made up to cover Awa's sorry as and he started acting nicer just to get sponsored.

The only review I actually care about. Unfortunately, I disagree with some of your views. I'm not sure what match you were watching but saying Khaled wasn't being a bad sport/being difficult is ridiculous. Compare Schoolboys demeanor and Khaleds and tell me they were both being level headed... I understand you said having an ego is what you need to make it in pro arm wrestling but the only person I've ever seen act this way is Michael Todd and maybe... MAYBE Travis. Also, go through all of Larry's videos where he trains with Khaled and you will see that he acts this way all the time.
I agree that Khaled is strong and will be a force in the pro scene but his win against Schoolboy was a fluke. They should have gone to straps way in the starting but the others didn't want to cause Khaled was "not comfortable" with it yet. Heck, even Larry beat Khaled with straps... Twice in a row. Schoolboy only lost because of his injury and how he had just pulled like 3 dudes before him... Not to mention all of the energy he spent trying to setup with Khaled who kept acting like a child.
I honestly would be super interested in you training him so we can realize his true potential.
