since you are in cathay area. there is one historical place that you should visit - the dreaded kempetai headquarters located at the YMCA building next to the Presbyterian church located just in front of cathay theatre. Cathay theatre was once used by the Japanese army as its headquarters. Behind the theatre lies Mount Sophia, there used to be Japanese school during the war. My late dad received his Japanese education there and later he was recruited as interpreter by the Japanese army. My late dad was very fluent in English and Dutch too.

1:09 I think this is a problem that has arisen more recently, especially since communication has been made easier with platforms like telegram and WhatsApp. my father once told me that back in the days of communicating through pager and land-line, people were always on time. nowadays schedules have become more flexible. it's certainly a bad habit that us as Singaporeans need to improve on
im a sporean living abroad in aus. I go back to sg once every year or 2 to meet up with family & friends... I HATE it when people dont come on time. tbh i dont mind if they're 10-15min late but when people make you wait an hour or more its just plain rude to me. I once had to wait for a friend like 3 hours & tbh I just wanted to leave by then. it's ridiculous.
