Thanks for making this. When your spending over $200 its good to see an honest review. I love the sound of those brushless heli's, what a wicked sound like a laughing hyiena
Awesome! But a little windy, looks like 15-knots or better. I've been an EF EDF Viper 70/90mm pilot, and I have always had a huge curiosity for helicopters. This little spitfire looks like a great beginning to what might become another monstrosity in my RC addiction! 🙂 Thank you for this great little video.
For a begginner definitely buy some of the 36 dollar rtf helis on banggood right now. You are gonna crash a lot and its good to learn how to repair the cheap stuff first. Then move on to something with a brushed motor a little bigger like the k110 then on to something like this.
It depends on what type of background you have. If you have experience with sport quadrotors then this would be a good first heli. If you have no heli experience and have flown only GPS quads then this is definitely not a good first heli. You will loose it quickly.
Hello everyone and Happy New Year ! I just received the Blade 230S Smart BNF equipped with the AR6250MHXA. How to insert the Bind Plug association socket without dismantling everything? In addition, besides the fact that my fingers do not pass and that I do not see the plugs, a plug is already connected to the BIND plug ..... My radio is a Spektrum DX6 G2 EU. All have a happy new year 2022!
ALWAYS start with getting comfortable with a stable hover on ANY heli, then move on to the basic figure-8's an all that good stuff. You need to learn your orientation first before anything else, like when the chopper is pointed towards you, the yaw will be reversed (left is right, right is left). This also applies to when you eventually fly inverted, where up is down, down is up. Compound this with the above an the tail is away from you. Do yourself a favor an stick with hovering with the tail towards you an away from you. Practice a LOT before you lawn-dart what is a big pile of money for most people.
I have both the Blade 230 S an the OMP Hobby M2. I think the M2 is a superior machine from my perspective. The tail is more tuned out of the box, an tends to not blow out as much as the Blade. There isn't really a "right or wrong" of which machine, they are both excellent, but the OMP Hobby is a bit more refined, IMO.
Failed to mention if this bnf or rtf & if it is, why didnt you showcased the tx, also. ? Nice Flight for being your 1st. It only gets easier from now. Toggling to Pain Mode takes longer, just gotta look @ it as another challange. 👍
We shall see it didnt go so well for my 330s it only flew for 20 secs and it had a fatal crash. Come to find out the firmware wasnt updated, the swash plate wasnt balanced and many other things. But my personal contact at HH assures me that they will make it all right, except its going to take up to a year to get it back??? So I bought this one and we shall see how it goes. I will let you know!!
I love that these helios are becoming easier for new pilots with SAFE an GPS with some of them. BUT....learn to fly without that crutch, an in the long run you'll be a better pilot. If you're always having a nanny helping you fly, you will never learn or be confident to advance to do things these systems cannot handle, like 3D flight. There is also the Fly Wing FW200, which is, as I believe, the smallest helicopter with GPS, which means you can hands-off hover, even do basic inverted tricks without issue. It will even return to home position an land itself. This is awesome, but it is a crutch if you don't know how to fly beforehand. Of these type of helis, I don't think they are "beginner-friendly", but more in tune with the pilot that has some basic skill an just wants to relax.
There are umpteen videos on youtube telling you how easy the 230S is to fly. The truth is it isn't. There are so many things you need to get right before you even fly it. In SAFE mode it is almost unflyable, you don't have enough control. The most important point is that it isn't ment to hover. It comes out of the box very tailheavy. I have built and/or flown almost 100 helis, including two examples of the 230S, and it is by far the worst.
These heli made me: "I will never buy >blade< again". It even doesn't have any of 3 modes... I cant bind it, it flies like a something which flies very very bad, and parts... man they are too expensive for this circus! Why won't you make a vid where you show how to bind it?!?!?
I absolutely agree with this. I love RC Helis but they are much more difficult to fly than a drone. If a RC Heli manufacturer (take the hint Hobby) could make such a heli I would be in the queue to buy.
@@BF1GUN there is already a 450 size heli that is sold on banggood that is GPS controlled gyro. Basically a self flying with GPS on board. Helis take many hours of practice. I have been flying for over 10 years. I can see why rc heli hobbiiest are small minority. Hobby king stop selling helicopters.
I have probleme with my NEW Blade 230sV2 RTF. when I switch on intermediate mode the engine start himself Gaz down!! here the video :ua-cam.com/video/pEg7gxtpcjE/v-deo.html
Actually this heli in the first mode flies like a fixed pitch and has limited bank and pitch. Stunt 1 & 2 are full collective. Normal mode is just fixed pitch.
Look and listen to your tail rotor it's awful… I have flown 3 of these helicopters they all have the same problem the tail rotor is absolutely horrible. The PID settings are so wacko from the factory you're just flying junk. A lot of people don't know how to use or set up the PID including myself but after much trial and error and a lot of time just trying numbers and reading up the best you can I finally got it to be so so acceptable… Not perfect and the numbers for the PID are so far off factory settings they should be ashamed. I have 2 of these that are now flying okay but out-of-the-box this helicopter is not very good. And as for people learning to tune them that's not fair and most people won't be able to. Overall rating of 10 I give this helicopter only a 3… If they would tune it properly from the factory I would have given it a 6
Not sure what the point of this was. It didn't tell me anything about how easy, or difficult, the model is to fly. Just a video of a guy hovering a heli (with some really bad sound quality)
Thanks for making this. When your spending over $200 its good to see an honest review. I love the sound of those brushless heli's, what a wicked sound like a laughing hyiena

Nice please bring back the parkzone visionaire
Can I ask, were you in SAFE mode on this flight?
Is there a v3 ? I been flying the 130s for years now and want something a bit bigger.
Nano S2 or this one? for a beginner of collective pitch heli's
230 S V2 for sure. Not even close ;).
@@horizonhobby so it is suitable for beginners? What about the MCP X BL2? So many choices... 😁

It really looks great if I can turn it upside down I would use it as lawn mower😀
Shouldn't be your first heli! Second get a ten tooth pinion if your going to do that

With little cp experience, I would have left it out of idle up a while :)
Do you recommend hovering first before a set amount of fight time?

You Feeling Blade, Kyle?

Does it give beginner to expert mode? Please reply to the question, I like to buy it but I have to know if it give 3 modes
Yes it has 3 flight modes built into it. Beginner, Intermediate, Expert .

Sounds like the tail never stops hunting & it needs the gyro adjusted
I add GAINS to my TX's rotary knob. Makes things a lot better than having to land, plug it into a laptop or adjust the gyro pots.
Why does it chirp like that?
Since it is not collective pitch on the tail rotor, the motor on the tail changing speeds causes this chirping.
Use a carbon fiber tail rotor blade, most of the sound will be gone.
Guess they have stopped making this one though.
Not necessarily ;). New things in the pipeline!

I think that would be normal? Look at your throttle curve for that mode, on intermediate it shows flat 75% which is a slowed down idle up.
