I did appreciate how thoroughly your video was and thank you to give a head up on my project where I will replace all my valves on my B 20 engine. I missed couple of teeth on my timing belt and I may have bent some valves. So wish me good luck and keep your good work you are a good sole for man king. Bruno
Nice job, since you got the tools where you live so I can bring my gsr and have you install camshaft, valve seals, retainers, springs, water pump and timing belt. Stock unmolested b18c1 motor. You knocked it out in a few hours. Great job
Thank you it took more then a few hours. I don’t think I’m going to replace valve seals in the car. I rather take the head completely off and send it to the machine shop to do now. Most Of my valve seals were stuck lol. Everything else is easy. I’m in south Ga
Nice video. Did you remove the oil pump to change the leaking seal? I have a leak from there also and I’m trying to figure out how much work I’m gonna need to do.
this job kick my ass... well the timing belt i was having a hard time getting it back on without my marks moving everytime i got close or put it back on i was off 1 tooth from either the crank or cams
Depends on how many miles on the motor. It may be time for a full rebuild or replacement. Check the compression to determine the health of the engine and visual inspection
@@bigkevondis big thanks for the response it’s a 96 teggy w about 203k miles I feel it’s on it’a way out. Doesn’t pass smog but everything else is fine great car hate to give up on it just yet
Okay I have an integra but i don’t know if it’s the seals for the valve cover you think the seals of the cover could make the car over heat ?cuz I also know the thermostat ,radiator and a water pump could be the problem but can the seal of the valve cover be the problem ?
So is this why your car was smoking when hitting VTEC? Because my gsr is smoking the same way, I only noticed it when racing at the track when I was ripping it, gonna do a compression test this weekend to make sure

No did not have to touch the oil pump. But if you are leaking from the oil pump then yes it’s a lot more involved

Haha. Did u lock the camshafts? I normally start from the bottom and work my way to the water pump ,cams then tensioner.
Why is your valves different than my gsr mine has these nut looking thing on the top of the retainer am I suppose to unscrew it please help
Message me on IG.
When you put the string in cylinder 1, did you bring cyl 1 to tdc?
Yes Feed as much string inside and bring what ever cylinder your working on to tdc
What would I be looking to spent for some one to do this job?
On a b18b1
Not sure .. maybe close to $1k or more depending on parts
You think it’s a good idea to swap motors or fix the valve seals? Pretty sure I have a similar problem thanks

It helped a little, it smokes less, I’m thinking the oil rings are worn now
Did you mean to say 11mm
