- Enjoy one of my favorite pieces from the movie, The Mission." In the movie, Father Gabriel is a missionary in South America who wants to share his love of God and to build a mission. The indigenous people learn to trust him after he plays his oboe for them. This is the famous tune from that movie written by Ennio Morricone.

Oh my! this is so beautiful it's making me cry!
I’m impressed, it’s lovely …
i love your instrument...
Thank you that was beautiful and inspirational.
I love this song. I first heard it on an Amy Grant Christmas CD, and then I heard Yo-Yo Ma's version of it and I was hooked. It's a very emotional piece of music and I would love to play it someday. Great job.
Really nice Carolyn
so beautiful! thank you
I love this piece of art and you play it really well. What techniques and positions do you need to learn to play this beautiful piece? I haven't learned second and third position yet. Can you play it without them or will it be much harder then?
Hi Carter!
Thank you. :)
You could probably find this piece in a different key (a lower key) so that you wouldn't have to shift up so high. You can look into SheetMusicPlus or one of those sites to see if you can find an arrangement that will work for your skill level. Good luck - hope you are able to find one!
@@cellodiscovery that's so nice of you, thanks!
@@cellodiscovery I hope so too ❤️
In my opinion, supplement your present knowledge and ability now by pushing yourself and gradually assimilate your skills to be able to play this in this key . Just hearing this piece made me push my motivation to go to the upper positions. Plus watching her play this with the bow patterns really help. Take it one to two , etc, measures at a time.
@@erikasdaddy51690 I wanted to do that anyway, I already practice daily and now I've got a new goal to get to. I'll play this one day and if it takes me a while, it's okay. The way is important too and I'm already so excited to learn the second and third position and to learn the shift not only from first to fourth position but to all first four ones. From first to second, from second to fourth and so on ☺️
So beautiful.
Beautiful
👏👏❤️
Heart breakingly beautiful and your accompanist ❤
Bravo
Thank you. :)
Meraviglia!
So beautiful 🤩🎶
Bravooooooooo ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I like that arrangement. I've learned the part by ear, listening to YoYo Ma's recording, but would like to obtain the arrangement for cello and piano. Where may I obtain it?
Hi Mark- I purchased a violin part and transposed it down an octave. I often purchase from SheetMusicPlus or MusicNotes. Both have inexpensive parts for purchase.
Beautyful
Just wow. The tone of your cello is so gorgeous and rich. And you play it so beautifully!
Thank you. :)
